Google and Huawei will pay Nexus 6P owners for battery woes
Did your Nexus 6P get stuck in boot loops and randomly shut down due to battery issues? If so, you might be in line for some cash. Google and Huawei have reached a preliminary agreement to settle a class action lawsuit with compensation for owners of the Android reference phone. Provided the court approves the settlement on May 9th, anyone who bought the 6P from September 25th, 2015 onward will be eligible for as much as $400 if they provide documentation. Those who already received a Pixel XL as part of a warranty exchange can only qualify for a maximum of $10.

"Never mind it. Never mind," I cursed, looking down on the poorly formed monstrosity that gazed back at me with a singular pulsing eye. No, not at me -- through me. This was not my trusty Google Assistant, with whom I shared a deep logistical and day-planning-based bond. This thing barely looked like the AI to which I was accustomed and -- even then -- only in passing. This alien program appears to have eaten my digital assistant and started wearing its skin -- and I'm about to spend the next week having it organize my life.
Google opens Daydream VR platform to developers
From its debut at Google I/O, Daydream seemed like a much more ambitious smartphone-based VR software platform than the earlier Cardboard system. The countdown clock for the former's public release began after a Bloomberg article back in August hinted at its imminent launch. While we're still waiting for the first Daydream phones to come out in fall, Google's VR SDK version 1.0 supporting it has officially left beta and is available to download on their developer site.
