Trion Community Manager Ocho has just posted an announcement to players of RIFT, ArcheAge, Defiance, and Trove that the studio is currently under a denial-of-service attack affecting some game services. He writes, Following last night's ISP maintenance, our overnight team has confirmed a DDOS that is currently aimed at Trion's services. We're actively working with our ISP partners and the authorities on both mitigating its effects and ensuring this group gets caught. Our live games are up and ArcheAge's open beta is going forward as planned. While the attack persists, there may be some effects on network stability and some website unavailability. You also may need to use the Resend Code option for our login security and RIFT's Coin Lock if the email doesn't reach you at first. We'll keep you informed as the situation evolves. If I'm bored of writing about the lame antics of script-kiddies, I'm sure MMO studios are livid about being forced to divert resources to combat them.

Three weeks after the departure of Trion Worlds Director of Global Communications Elizabeth Tobey comes the news that Trion has appointed two new community managers to helm its core MMOs RIFT, Defiance, Trove, and ArcheAge. Evan "Scapes" Berman, whom gamers might recall from his days on the TERA community team, will take over the Defiance and ArcheAge communities, while Eric "Ocho" Cleaver of City of Heroes fame will defend Trove and RIFT players from waves of angry trolls. May the planar gods have mercy on their souls.

With the addition of the feature episodes, the team at Cryptic Studios has been hard at work expanding the missions and storyline of Star Trek Online. Players are sent to all manner of exotic locales and required to get to the bottom of all manner of craziness, such as this particular story arc that involves the Romulans. Today's Star Trek Online image comes to us from our regular contributor, Ocho, who didn't go too far into detail as to what precisely we're seeing here, noting only: "[This is] from the recent Cloaked Intentions series that just finished up, which is easily the best feature episode series to date." Find something worth sharing on your recent adventures? Want to tell us about the awesome mission you just completed? We're all about it! All you have to do is snap a great screenshot to go along with your note and email it in to us here at oneshots@massively.com. Please make sure you include your name and the name of the game along with your note and screenshot so we can credit you properly. Your picture could be the very next one we post here on One Shots. %Gallery-112285%

Ah, the City on the Edge of Forever -- definitely a fan favorite both when it comes to episodes from the original Star Trek series and images from Star Trek Online. After all, just seeing that portal will bring back a bit of nostalgia to anyone who has seen the episode. Today's One Shots comes to us from regular contributor Ocho, who captured a fleeting moment showing what appears to be the surface of the moon. He writes in: "This screenshot is from the famous City on the Edge of Never mission, featuring the Guardian of Forever." Have you run a great mission lately? Want to tell us about it? Grab a great screenshot in the area of that quest and send it in to us here at oneshots@massively.com along with your name, the name of the game, and a note telling us all about it. Your screenshot could be the next one we feature here! %Gallery-112285%

It's the weekend! Time to crank up the music and enjoy some downtime. For some of us, that may mean heading for the beach. However, if you aren't close enough to the beach or you're more in the mood to spend some time in Guild Wars, you can head for Embark Beach and run through quests anywhere in the world. Very handy! Today's lush One Shots comes to us from Ocho, who writes in: "With even more news of Guild Wars 2 and the latest Guild Wars update making the game even more solo-accessible, I couldn't help heading back in to play." MMO fiends: We need more screenshots from you! If you'd like to help us out, then take a great screenshot in your favorite MMO this weekend (bonus points for non-RIFT images -- we get loads of those!) and email it to us here at oneshots@massively.com. Please include your name, the name of the game, and a note about what we're seeing in the picture, so we can properly credit you and offer some context to others who may not have been there before. You never know -- your screenshot could be the next one we feature here on Massively! %Gallery-112285%

Say the words "there and back again" to any Lord of the Rings fan, and you'll likely immediately conjure up images of the Shire in his mind. It is one of the favorite areas of several Lord of the Rings Online players we've spoken to, and it's the very spot we see in today's sunny One Shots. This image comes to us from Massively reader Ocho, who decided to send in a screenshot of "the ever picturesque Shire in Lord of the Rings Online" for us all to enjoy. With puffy white clouds floating over green grassy fields and friendly Hobbits to talk to, we can think of infinitely worse places to spend some free time! Have you captured a lovely landscape shot while out on your travels recently? We're always on the lookout for great images captured from all around the MMOGsphere, but we need readers to help us out. All you have to do is snap a screenshot in your favorite game and toss it into an email with your name, the name of the game, and a note about what we're seeing in the picture. From there, send it over to us at oneshots@massively.com. We'll dig through the One Shots mailbox and publish the best images from our awesome readers. It's just that easy. %Gallery-112285%
