Vertu Signature Precious is awash in sea of sapphire...and regret (video)
It may not feature GPS, an accelerometer, or even a camera, but if you've run out of disposable items to encrust with jewels, then Vertu's Precious -- the latest revision to its aging Signature lineup -- may be the mobile phone for you. While its basic array of quadband GSM, 2100 / 850 MHz 3G, Bluetooth and WiFi may seem a touch modest, varieties come slathered in platinum, three types of gold (yellow, white and red), leather, ceramic, and enough jewels to make Her Majesty blush. Its face, known as the "sea of sapphire," is mostly obscured (save for the OLED display), but you high rollers can take comfort knowing it spent more than two weeks in a 2000°C oven to appease your discerning taste. Also hidden are 4.75 carats of ruby bearings, which are said to give the keys a frictionless, satisfying click. The ring tones are exclusive compositions by Dario Marianelli and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra -- though we were bigger fans before they sold out. For a quick glimpse of how the Precious comes together gem by gem, just follow the break. Precious, the 'bike with a brain,' rides itself across the country -- with a little help from friends (video)
We hear so much complaining on a day-to-day basis that frankly we're not sure how we feel about a bicycle that has been taught to bemoan the weight of its rider or, indeed, the sweatiness of their palms. That's what we have with Precious, a Specialized cruiser given an array of sensors and circuitry, able to tell things like distance covered, temperature, and, yes, the perspiration of the sorry sucker astride the thing. All of this is reported on the Precious Twitter feed in... creative English that we're pretty sure has been enhanced a bit by human hands. It's a creation of Breakfast, who earlier made the iPad dirigible, and as it goes coast-to-coast is working to raise money for Livestrong. Precious is currently in Berea, KY, 832 miles into its journey and has raised $2713 toward its goal. You may not have a chance to ride Precious, but you can at least help to boost that dollar figure at the source link.

The Light and How to Swing It: Looting in the Plagueworks
With the Light as his strength, Gregg Reece of The Light and How to Swing It faces down the demons of the Burning Legion, the undead of the Scourge, and helps with the puppet shows at the Argent Ren Faire up in Icecrown. Precious and Stinky aren't technically bosses, but they're still fun little encounters, so I figured I'd give at least one of the puppies center stage in today's header. Ready Check: Festergut and friends
Now that you've conquered the tragic hero-turned-evil Deathbringer Saurfang, the path is clear for you to go into the Plagueworks. This is where some of the slimy, funky, icky creatures serving Arthas keep their truly hideous and nasty creatures."Slimy" really is the word here, as the whole area just seems... moist. In a small break from normal operating procedure, I want to talk a little about the trash on the way to your first boss. The trash in Icecrown Citadel is fairly awesome, and worth a little bit of description. As soon as you enter the main spire, you're going to find these jets of blue smoke shooting from the walls. It's worth noting that you shouldn't stand in them, or you'll die. Rogues can disarm these traps fairly handily. DS Daily: Protecting the precious
You know, the DS Lite is a pretty affordable handheld, but it's slick design and glossy finish makes us so protective of our own. In fact, we'd say we're too protective. We only clean our screens with a damp 2-ply toilet paper. The extra ply is for safety.How do you keep your precious looking pristine? Do you use screen protectors? Have a heavy-duty case? Name that pet
Picking a pet's name is always one of the decisions I like best in WoW. It's creative and interesting, and if done right, it can bring lots of smiles to you and your friends. Naming your own character is also fun of course, but even in light of the name-changing feature, it still feels so permanent to me. With your pets, you can name more than one, and there's always the possibility that in the future you'll get to find some new and incredibly awesome pet and get to think of a name for that one too. Excellent pet namers even have special synergy between their hunter and pet names -- a creative feat which is at once challenging and simple.Mania's Arcania has an interesting little feature: in addition to all her other hunter and pet information, she's started a sort of "contest" called "Name That Pet," where hunters can submit pics of their pets for public inspection, and we all get to help them think of names for them. The latest pet in the series presents an great opportunity for hunter-pet name synergy: an owl tamed by the tauren Hawkspirit.
