We're just back from the WiFi-less Samsung PR space here at IFA in Berlin, and the report may be less than thrilling to most of our readers. Nevertheless, here's a quick recap of the events. First up on stage was Dr. Jong Woo Park, president of Samsung, who didn't have much to offer in the way of groundbreaking news, though he did emphasize his company's dedication to "user experience" with their products.

  • iPhones automatically updated with "Send to Web Gallery" feature

At some point during the Jobsters lenghty unveiling of multifarious technologies today, iPhones across the nation were silently rejiggered (presumably by magical Apple wood-sprites) to allow for use of the just announced "Send to Web Gallery" feature. Whether this was a timed event scheduled into the new 1.0.1 update or an over-the-air transmission from Apple remains to be seen, but it is definitely true that the "fully integrated" web gallery upload option which Mr. Jobs demonstrated at today's press conference is currently available for use on your iPhone. Right now. This second.[Via TUAW, thanks to everyone who sent this in]

  • Games to be launched from within Home

At the Sony Press Conference today at E3, Phil Harrison demonstrated a feature that is new to Home. PS3 games will be able to be launched directly from inside Home, from both a Blu-Ray disc and from the hard drive. Reminding us that the feature we have been asking for for a while, Harrison stepped into a room with eleven other people in the virtual world. He then proceeded to invite them all into a game of Motorstorm, which booted straight from Home's PSP menu system into the multiplayer lobby, with all the people he invited ready to start. After crashing out, Harrison decided that he'd played enough Motorstorm for now and quit the game straight back into Home. This is a feature we're very excited about and we cannot wait to take full advantage of it once the open beta hits within the next couple of months.

We've made it fellow fanboys! Tonight is the night when the speculation comes to an end and all (if not most) of our unanswered questions get answers. In less than an hour Microsoft will begin their E3 press conference live from the Santa Monica High School amphitheater at 11:30PM eastern. We'll surely get to see some Xbox 360 games, peripherals and hopefully be in for a few "OMG!" surprises. And this year you're in luck, because you have unprecedented access to this insider's only event. Not only will you be able to keep track of MajorNelson's updated Twitter stream and watch the press conference live on G4 TV (coverage starts at 11:00PM eastern), but Joystiq and Engadget will be live blogging straight from the event! Also, if technical difficulties can be cleared up, our very own Richard and David just might be able to do some live blogging of their own here at X3F. Remember, the conference starts at 11:30PM eastern! And with less than an hour until the event begins, you have one final chance to share your opinion and predict what exciting news you think will come from Microsoft's E3 press conference. So fanboys, what are your predictions?

  • Is HTC's "major announcement" a multi-touch device?

The plot is starting to thicken ahead of HTC's press conference on the fifth of June -- and as we suggested before, it appears that the company does indeed have its sights set on stealing some of Apple's thunder. As far as consumer electronics releases go, the crown for the month of June had pretty much been handed to the iPhone; yeah, pretty much any Apple release is considered something of a landmark event, but one of the iPhone's big draws is its support for multi-touch. So what if HTC were to announce its own multi-touch device -- based on the lovely Elf -- just days before the iPhone's release? A little deflating for Apple, yeah? Smartphone Thoughts is reporting that HTC plans to introduce said device at its June 5th event with the intention of releasing it quickly on a global scale. Microsoft was showing off its "Shift" touch-based interface not long ago; while we don't know that the rumored HTC device uses it, this could all work out very nicely indeed considering the cozy relationship Microsoft and HTC enjoy.

  • Nintendo Japan conference not-so-liveblogging [update 29]

After some mistaken information about start times and a few false starts around the internet, it looks like Nintendo's Japanese press conference is actually set to start at 2 p.m. Japan time (1 a.m. Eastern time, 10 p.m. Pacific time, 0500 GMT). Though Joystiq doesn't have anyone on the ground in Tokyo, we're working to attain the best feed and translation services available for the event. We do plan to cover any big news from the conference by monitoring a purported live online feed, with translation services provided by ittousai of Engadget Japan. If that doesn't work, we'll monitor our sources into the night to bring you this information as soon as it's available.Keep checking back on this post as the deadline approaches for not-quite-live coverage of what is likely to be a major conference.

  • E3 cancelled?! [Update 1]

According to numerous inside sources, it's all over. Next-Gen is claiming that within the next 48 hours, ESA president Doug Lowenstein is expected to announce the cancellation of the industry's most illustrous event: the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3. Twelve years running, the show has been stated as being far too expensive for what companies received in terms of exposure and publicity; it was simply too big for its own good. This comes as a shocking blow to gamers themselves, who look forward to the show for the biggest announcements and reveals from their favorite companies. Specifics can be found in the Next-Gen and Joystiq articles, but we at Wii Fanboy want to hear what you think about this travesty. Do you regret never having gone, and are you sad to see it go? Nintendo's press conferences were certainly one of the most beloved parts of the show, and the days of giddy excitement waiting for Reggie and Iwata to take the stage may be long gone. Does this reinforce the idea of the Spaceworld expo coming later this year? Whatever the case may be, it is truly a sad day in the magical land of video games.[A GameSpot article is slightly less doom-and-gloom, stating that E3 may only be heavily downsized and more focused on meeting room-style exhibitions and displays. We'll wait for official confirmation from Mr. Lowenstein.]

This has been floating around the internet for a bit, but it still deserves an honorable mention here. Some talented individuals decided to edit the Sony keynote address during E3, and the resulting video is definitely worth a chuckle (regardless if you're a PS3 Fanboy or not). Some of you aren't going to agree with the closing comments (while others might), but just click the above video to check it out."It's Ridge Racer!"

12:15 am - We're all seated and situated. The theater is huge with three mezzanines and 3,400 seat capacity.12:17 am - We're sitting in the Kodak theater waiting for the press corps, VIPs, and assorted industry folk to file in, ever so slowly. Pictochat sessions are starting to fill up as people take their seats and whip out their portables.  The announcer just told us to turn off all wireless and bluetooth devices before the presentation begins -- could that be so that our bluetooth doesn't interfere with the Wii's wireless capabilities? Sounds like a hint to us.
