Too much good PSN content! Head ... *pop*. Okay, maybe it's not that dramatic, but there are a lot of games in this week's update. There are new titles like Pac-Man Championship Edition DX or Spelunker HD, and new-to-PSN games like Dragon's Lair and Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalker, with every title mentioned carrying a $10 price tag. Then ... well, then there are all the price updates and plenty of add-on content. Check it all out after the break. This week's PSN update delivers the first installment in the Prince of Persia trilogy HD-ified for North America. Available in Europe as a Blu-ray compilation later this week, The Sands of Time is available now for $15 in North America, with the other two installments launching in December. The Crazy Taxi remake is ready to take you for a ride if you got $10 and there's also some refined high-quality Peggle to be found on PSP. For PlayStation Plus subscribers, check out Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus ... it's free. The rest of this week's update can be found after the break. With all the Black Ops calling gamers to duty, it's no surprise that this week's PSN update is fairly quiet. So, why not kick back with a refreshing bottle of Crescent Pale Mist and enjoy ... wait, CPM is a game?! It sounds like a microbrew. Oh my, this is embarrassing. We had high hopes that our PS3, through one of its many firmware updates, had become a beverage dispenser. Anyway, if you're curious about Crescent Pale Mist, we've placed a trailer after the break, along with the rest of this week's update. Kratos is committing bloody vengeance all over this week's PSN update. The God of War Collection is available for download on PS3 and God of War: Ghost of Sparta is ready for handheld brutality on PSP. If you're a PlayStation Plus member you also get a "full game trial" of God of War 1 and 2, which you can test drive for an hour apiece. Also, Trophies and game progress will roll over if you purchase the game after taking the blades out for a spin. While you're taking advantage of your membership, you should also check out the Vanquish trial. There's plenty of more stuff in this update, so head on past the break for all the details. Note: In addition to this week's update being really behind schedule, Sony is telling PSN users that, while all of the content is now live, it's not actually appearing in the PlayStation Store interface. You'll need to use the PS Store search function to find the new additions until the problem is addressed. This week's downloadable games for PSN include the port of online-only shooter Blacklight: Tango Down and the direct-to-PSN North American release of Superstars V8 Racing -- a title which makes us desire tomato juice like you wouldn't believe. Also, for Rock Band 3 owners, the Rock Band 2 import should be available now through the PSN. However, RockBand.com -- where you'll need to go for the code required for the process -- is currently down pending its (hopefully impending) relaunch, so sit tight! Update: Harmonix's RockBand.com is now live with an export guide. Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list: (Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.)

Double Fine's test-drive into downloadable titles, Costume Quest, is ready for those ready to experience a Unicorn wearing a purple and rainbow outfit. For those with the Move, try out the demo for The Shoot. The title if pretty self-explanatory of what one should expect, but check out the trailer if you need more info. The surprisingly not bad game Deadliest Warrior is available now on the PSN. The service also adds Alien Breed: Impact and it's likely worth your time to check out the demo for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. If for some reason you're a fan of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and still haven't picked up the game's two map packs, those are now on sale for 50 percent off at $7.49 apiece. Once again, the European PSN update includes more bacon than the pan can handle. There are demos for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, God of War: Ghost of Sparta and EA Sports MMA, along with the release of Deathspank: Thongs of Virtue and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, and a whole, whole bunch of DLC. That's a scientific unit of measurement, you know. Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list: (Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.)

The PSN update has quite some quality downloadable games this week. Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light not only arrives, but it adds a whole featured section on the PSN. There's also Deathspank: Thongs of Virtue and Swords & Solidiers. Fans of Borderlands should also take a look at the game's final piece of DLC, "Claptrap's New Robot Revolution." Although, remember, if you haven't already invested in the game's DLC, the Borderlands Game of the Year Edition will be out October 12. Check out the full PSN update after the break. • PSN Tuesday: PSOne Imports debut, Enslaved demo set free

    09.21.2010

Sony's going to be tinkering with the PlayStation Network today, so rather than delay the weekly PlayStation Store update to Wednesday, it decided to move it up by a few hours -- neat, huh? That means you get access to the likes of the Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and NBA Elite 11 demos (and an early chance to download Swords & Soldiers if you're a PS+ subscriber) right now. It's also the grand opening of the new PSOne Imports section of the PS Store. As expected, two MonkeyPaw Games releases -- Cho Aniki and Gaia Seed -- lead what will hopefully be a strong and steady charge of games from Japan. Use the handy-dandy buttons below to just straight to what's new for the platform of your choice, or hit the break for the full update. It's up to you! 09.14.2010

It's a relatively quiet week for the PSN update ... unless you count the explosions from all-out wormy warfare in Worms 2 Armageddon. The first downloadable PlayStation Move game, Tumble, also makes it debut alongside demos for Move titles Racquet Sports and EyePet. There are also discounts this week on Monkey Island Special Edition 2: Lechuck's Revenge and Mega Man 9. So, all in all, a pretty good week for downloadable titles. We absolutely recognize that we should focus on the new PSN game, TerRover, this week, and acknowledge that Dragon Age: Origins' "Witch Hunt" DLC is now available, but we we can't help but take note of something down in the "themes" section. There's a "Hot for Teacher" premium theme available now for PSP and PS3. We have no idea what it is, but now we can't get that Van Halen video out of our heads. Also, PSP-owning fans of strategy titles shouldn't miss out on Valkyria Chronicles 2, the worthy follow-up to the overlooked PS3 gem. Guns, cars and pressing one's luck is what this week's new PSN titles are all about. Shank, PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap, Press Your Luck and Motorstorm 3D Rift are all added to the PSN. The audio of these games will involve a log of banging, vrooming and hollering of "BIG MONEY, NO WHAMMIES!" Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game: Not based on the movie, but the comic: Is an awesome brawler -- yes, that's the actual full title (no, it's not). Our review explains how much we liked the game. Don't trust our review? Well, we're hurt ... but there's also a demo for the game in this week's PSN update, so definitely try that out. Also, as another treat, this week's update also includes a "must try" demo for Valkyria Chronicles 2 on PSP. Check out the full update after the break. There aren't too many new games on the PlayStation Store this week, but there are certainly some terrific sales.
