    Today's PSN drop is headlined by two emotional installments: DMC: Devil May Cry and the Angry Birds Trilogy, both launching as full PS3 games. DMC runs $60, while Angry Birds is $40.The PSP and Vita get Corpse Party: Book of Shadows today for $20, and Vita gets a free app designed to help you and your friends get out of bed in the morning, called Wake-Up Club. Horror classic Siren is hitting the PS2 Classics bin, along with Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, each for $10.   • PSN Store Update: Dead Space 3 preorders, EDF 2017 Portable

    This week's PlayStation Store update opened preorders for the PSN version of Dead Space 3. More instantly gratifying: you can now buy Demon's Souls and Lord of the Rings: War in the North digitally, for $20 each.Some Sega classics are bundled in "Sega Vintage Collections," one with Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Super Hang-On, and The Revenge of Shinobi, and another with three Wonder Boy games. These games were previously sold as bundles on XBLA, but only individually on PS3. And be sure to check out all the PlayStation Plus extras.On Vita, Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable is the major highlight, but there are also a bunch of Disney PS1 games you can buy through the Vita store. So that's cool.

    Because of New Year's festivities, Sony has updated the PlayStation Network a day earlier than usual. This week brings a bunch of discounts for some of 2012's best, including a few bucks off Sound Shapes, Skullgirls, Tokyo Jungle, Shadow of the Colossus and many more. Of course, if you're a PlayStation Plus member everything is discounted a tad bit extra.PS Plus subscribers also get their requisite free games this week, including NBA Jam: On Fire Edition and PS Vita puzzle-platformer, Chronovolt.   • PSN Store update: Retro City Rampage free for Plus, Munch's Oddysee HD

    The latest PSN update is now live, and there are some notable additions for PS Plus members and regular users alike. Plus users get to add the excellent Retro City Rampage to their instant game collection. Munch's Oddysee HD also arrives on PSN this week, bringing the one-time Xbox exclusive to the PlayStation 3. The Vita version is slated to arrive next year.The Holiday Essentials sale continues as well, with a hefty batch of discounted games up for grabs. Highlights include Journey or Papo & Yo for $10.49 ($7.35 on PS Plus), Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on Vita for $24.99 ($17.14 on Plus) and Starhawk for 27.99 ($19.60 on Plus).     The PS3/Vita platformer Knytt Underground is available on PSN, promising grand subterranean adventure and "zen-like gameplay." It's Cross-Buy, so if you get it one platform, you have it on both.Also on PSN this week: a lot of discounts! The Holiday Essentials sale is accompanied by other discounts, including the "Sega Heritage Collection" bundle, which offers Jet Set Radio HD, Sonic Adventure 2 with DLC, and NiGHTS for $20. You can pre-order PSN versions of Devil May Cry and Metro Last Light starting this week.A trio of Rockstar PS2 games is also on the Store today, for $10 each: Red Dead Revolver, Bully, and Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition Remix.

    It's unusual for a PS2 Classic to be the most noteworthy release on PSN for the week, but it makes sense when it's the massive-selling, just plain massive Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Other new stuff out on PS3 today includes Suda 51's Black Knight Sword and the Dunwall City Trials DLC for Dishonored.On Vita, you can try out a demo of Uncharted: Fight for Fortune, which somehow made it all the way to release without being renamed Uncarded. You can also get the PSP role-playing game Class of Heroes for just $7.49, and catch up in time for the sequel.

  • PSN Tuesday: PS All-Stars and Persona 4 Golden out today

    The latest PlayStation Store update brings two long-awaited game to PS3 and PS Vita. PlayStation All-Stars is now available in digital form on the PS3 for $59.99, as is a pint-sized version on the PS Vita for $39.99. And Atlus' acclaimed JRPG, Persona 4: Golden, is out on the PS Vita for $39.99.Meanwhile, Clan of Champions and Sine Mora are both available on the PS3, and Jet Set Radio and Halfbrick's great iOS game, Jetpack Joyride, hit the Vita. A new bundle assembles Sonic the Hedgehog and its sequel for $4.99, and some bonus content is thrown in with Hitman Absolution, alongside a discounted Sleeping Dogs.There are also sales on some PS3 Ultimates (including the great Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine), and over in the DLC column we get the fifth episode of Telltale's popular Walking Dead series.     Last night's PSN update arrived a bit late, so you may not have noticed what went up on the store. With that in mind, we thought it would be useful to show the highlights from yesterday's update, and link out to the full list, so your shopping is unaffected.PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is up for pre-order through the PS Store this week. The freemium version of SingStar is now downloadable, so you can try it out and decide if you want to fill your catalog with SingStore songs. And Tekken Tag Tournament 2 brings fighting dinosaurs, bears and cyborgs to PS3. In less happy news, the God of War Ascension beta is not on PSN as planned. If you have a voucher, don't redeem it yet!Meanwhile, the biggest release on Vita is Call of Duty Black Ops Declassified by default, but we're delighted to see a Vita version of Colors!, which began its life as a DS homebrew app before going to 3DS and now Vita officially. It's a drawing app that lets you save and share your work online.

  • PSN Tuesday: Portal 2 In Motion, Toe Jam & Earl return

    All of the Xbox owners out there are probably spending Election Night celebrating the arrival of Halo 4, but there's good news for you too, PS3 owners. The latest update to PSN brings digital versions of LittleBigPlanet Karting and Vanquish, as well as a digital version of Portal 2 with "In Motion" DLC, for use with the PlayStation Move accessory (as seen in the trailer above). When Vikings Attack and PID are now both available on the PSN store, as are both the original Toe Jam & Earl and the Panic on Funkotron sequel. Rygar hits as a PS2 classic, and Saint's Row 3 and Sleeping Dogs have digital bundles to download. PS Plus members have some new sales to choose from, and there are all kinds of new downloads and add-ons to find across the rest of the network.     You can buy all the Assassin's Creed you can handle on PSN today. Both AC3 and Liberation are available for download, separately or in a $120 bundle that also includes the AC3 Season Pass. Need for Speed: Most Wanted is also available digitally, as is Sports Champions 2. And Okami HD is ready to dazzle you with new graphics.On Vita, along with Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation and Need for Speed, you can download Lego Lord of the Rings, Ragnarok Odyssey, and Smart As.     Warfighter. You'll get caught up in the ... Warfighter! Another Day 1 Digital game launches on PS3 today, along with Killzone HD, the Starhawk single-player campaign, and former retail exclusive The Darkness 2.If you missed them last week because you're not a Plus member, you can now get the free PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale beta and the less free Unfinished Swan. Perhaps most importantly, the Salaryman character is available in Tokyo Jungle.On Vita, Street Fighter X Tekken is now available for download, along with the weird (and free) Frobisher Says, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, and a lot of other stuff.     Continuing its Day 1 Digital promotion, PSN has launch-day downloads of Doom 3: BFG Edition and 007 Legends available today. On top of that, all PS Vita users can hop into a PS All-Stars: Battle Royale beta. PS3 owners can get in on it too, but they'll need a PS Plus subscription.Silent Hill: Book of Memories launches today for the PS Vita, and PS Plus members can add Payday: The Heist to their Instant Game Collection.     Today's PS Store dump includes a barrage of full games as part of Sony's Day 1 Digital promotion and its ongoing indie focus. For full games, we have Dishonored, Birds of Steel, Devil May Cry HD Collection and The Testament of Sherlock Holmes.PSN gets Retro City Rampage, The Walking Dead Episode Four: Around Every Corner, Derrick the Deathfin, Machinarium, Worms Revolution and more. Retro City Rampage is also hitting Vita, alongside Dr. Who: The Eternity Clock, Spy Hunter and Sunflowers.Vita is getting three new PSOne Classics, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 4, Destrega and Saiyuki: Journey West.     Today kicks off Sony's Day 1 Digital initiative, which sees some of the holiday's most high-profile games available as day-one downloads on PlayStation Network. Resident Evil 6 and NBA 2K13 are the first two games available as day one downloads in October.On top of the Day 1 Digital promotion, PSN users can pre-order Assassin's Creed 3 and snag a pair of Sega PSN games today: Sonic Adventure 2 and NiGHTS into DREAMS. More PSOne Classics are available on PS Vita today, including several Square Enix and Capcom games like Parasite Eve, Chrono Trigger, Resident Evil 2 and many more.     Pre-orders are up for PlayStation's "Day 1 Digital" promotion. That news applies to you if you have Plus and want to save money on downloads of Dishonored, Doom 3 BFG, NBA 2K13, and Need for Speed: Most Wanted ... and you can reconcile the silliness of pre-ordering a downloadable game.Even before Day 1 Digital officially starts, there are some full retail games available digitally, including FIFA 13 and Dead or Alive 5, and older games Starhawk and Mirror's Edge.Along with that stuff is way too much quality PSN-exclusive material, including Tokyo Jungle and Hell Yeah, both of which were reviewed favorably by Joystiq (in case you missed them!), along with Marvel vs. Capcom Origins, One Piece Pirate Warriors, and more.

    This week's PSN update is uncharacteristically early and adds a smattering of new content, including Double Dragon: Neon (free for PS Plus subscribers, along with Scott Pilgrim) and the PS3 port of 11 bit studios' Anomaly Warzone Earth. These new PSN jams are joined by full game downloads of Max Payne 3 and Battlefield 3 Premium Edition.PS Vita owners looking to relive some PSOne Classics can choose from 21 new games in the PS Vita store starting today. Standouts include One, Mass Destruction and the comically awful Perfect Weapon – hey, it was the first PSOne game I ever owned.     Are you ready for some apps that enable you to watch football on Sunday? Okay, so we failed Marketing 101 – it's our way of saying DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket is now available to PS3 users.Joining football is free-to-play PS3/PS Vita cross-play compatible (phew!) Zen Pinball 2, from Zen Studios. If you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber, there are the usual discounts to consider, like 75 percent off Greed Corp and 40 percent off Daytona USA, and a free download of Borderlands.
