Listen, we've just got to say thanks. We got shown some serious love at our Tokyo reader meetup this week, and we're not only really grateful for the 200+ readers who came out to hang out with Engadget (and who took a ton of photos and almost 100 videos), but for the variety of guests we had, including Mr. Yamamitsu (CEO of Thanko), who participated in a live interview, as well as the "lightning talks" round of hackers, homebrewers, modders, researchers, and all around Japanese über-geeks. So, much love to everyone who came out and helped make our Tokyo event pop off!P.S. -Oh, and check out some videos after the break. And stay tuned for further details on the SF Engadget reader meetup this week.%Gallery-8202%

LA-area readers! We know you've been asking us for years to do a reader meetup in your humble little town of, what, five, maybe ten million? Well, we didn't quite have enough time to put together a full on Engadget event of our own, but our bestest buds at Joystiq are doing a little something and Peter and myself will be on hand to chum it up with LA-area gadget and game geeks. We can't guarantee the usual free booze + tshirts + gadget giveaways, but we can guarantee a good old fashioned geek-out at to Mahalo HQ in Santa Monica. So leave us a comment if you think you'll be able to come on out tomorrow! When: 6PM-9PM on Friday 13thWhere: Mahalo HQ, 902 Colorado Ave. Santa Monica 90401 (Google Maps link)And yes, this event is all ages!

We came to town, we saw a teensy bit (namely the immediate area near Jillian's and Fenway), and about 400 of you guys showed up to totally conquer the Engadget reader meetup Boston. We know you'd have probably come out even if we didn't hand out free shirts, beer tickets, and have major giveaways from such great sponsors as Sonos, Sling Media, and Slim Devices -- but it didn't hurt, right? Big thanks for everyone who hung out, chatted it up, knocked one back, and generally made us feel at home. We're not sure when we'll next be back to Boston, but hopefully it'll be sooner than later!P.S. -Loads more pics after the break!P.P.S -For those former meetup goers feeling nostalgic, the other events are here, here, here, and here.

Well wouldn't you know it? Last week Engadget China had a reader meetup of their very own out Hong Kong way. We really do wish we could have been there to hang out, but it looks like the situation was firmly in hand without us sad American sacks starting to wax poetic about how much we love our readers the world over. As always, much love for our Chinese colleagues and readership, we'll be seeing you real soon.Check out the Hong Kong escapades here, here, and finally, here.

So our European correspondent Thomas and I were chatting the other day about my upcoming trip to Amsterdam when we came to the conclusion that it was about time we held an Engadget Reader Meetup over there. I'm only there for a couple of days, but are there any Engadget readers in Amsterdam who'd be down for an event on July 20th? Let us know in the comments if there's any interest and we'll try and get something together. I read somewhere in my Lonely Planet guidebook that people in Amsterdam like to party, so please don't disappoint me. P.S. - We're on the hunt for both a venue and a sponsor, so if you can hook us up with either please drop us a line in the comments.

Alright, Merced, we're on. We're going to have an informal (read: chill) Engadget reader meetup in my hometown of Merced, California on Saturday, June 10th. I'm still on the hunt for a location, so if anyone has access to a suitable space or any suggestions for where we could hold this, please let me know in the comments. Also, please post in the comments below if you're thinking about coming, I want to make sure we do this someplace big enough (and that I bring enough Engadget t-shirts for everyone). Thanks!
