Quantum Break is a new game from Remedy, developer of the Alan Wake series, coming to the Xbox One, Microsoft Studios head Phil Spencer said. The Quantum Break tagline is, "Time is the fire in which we burn." The teaser video opens with a live-action family preparing to leave their house, and a little girl with some sort of special power. The game footage shows a ship as it crashes into a large bridge – and then time stops and reverses. "The actions you take and the choices you make shape your experience as the story unfolds," Spencer said. Update: Don't believe us? Check out the trailer for yourself.

Remedy Entertainment has finally launched the PC version of its Death Rally remake on Steam, available at a 15% discount until next Friday, bringing the price down to $8.49. Death Rally first debuted on PC in 1996 before being reborn for iOS devices in 2011 and on Android earlier this year. There's also a new trailer, which we've posted above. We wouldn't take the closing tag line "This is no Sunday drive" to heart, though. We've played the mobile version of Death Rally on Sunday plenty of times and everything seemed to work out fine.

  • Nissan pins Leaf's WattStation charging woes on a software bug, works on a fix

GE and Nissan had previously ruled out GE's WattStation as the cause of a few Leaf charging failures, and that story of EV tragedy looks to be winding to a close with a more definitive explanation. As the two tell us, a bug in the Leaf's on-board charging software can damage the relevant hardware under a perfect storm of conditions: if a drivers uses a specific (but not necessarily GE) charger, an undervoltage or similar power crisis can bring the Leaf to its knees. Nissan says it's hurrying towards a remedy, although we're working to confirm just what that entails. In the meantime, the automaker is asking owners to be cautious and avoid plugging in when there's lightning or brownouts in the making.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare is hitting Steam and GOG on Tuesday, May 22, and it's probably going to look a bit like the images in the gallery below, but with more 3D rendering and fewer "happy little trees" brush strokes. These concept images lay out the beginnings of a few key scenes in American Nightmare, along with the hatching of a few creepy crawlies and (much) larger foes.%Gallery-155719%

Alan Wake's American Nightmare will soon manifest on PC, if you believe the notes written down in the Steam registry. Discovered by DSOGaming, the registry information reveals that Mr. Wake's latest adventure is on the path to a Steam launch – unless it's just the devious Mr. Scratch messing with PC gamers. It's worth pointing out that the Steam registry is exactly how the first indications of the original Alan Wake making its way to PC came to light. The plot thickens.

Remember back in October when it was rumored that Alan Wake 2 was in production for the next Xbox? While we still can't confirm Alan Wake 2, we now know that Remedy is indeed hiring for the next generation of consoles. The developer has posted the hiring notice in the Alan Wake community site, stating that Remedy is "looking for world-class talent to work on an unannounced project targeted at future generation consoles."The fact that the notice was posted on the Alan Wake site could be a hint as to what the next project will be, though it's important to note that the site also hosts forums for Remedy's other games, including American Nightmare, Death Rally and the first two Max Payne games. Still, Remedy has made it quite clear that there will be more Alan Wake, so a next gen entry to the series is definitely a possibility.Speaking of Alan Wake, you know Joystiq has exclusive, never-before-seen episodes of Night Springs, right?

"Alan Wake has been good to us, financially." That's what we were told by Remedy's head of franchise development Oskari "Ozz" Hakkinen in an interview last month. Now, Ozz has revealed just how good Alan has been to the company, telling CVG that the original Alan Wake has now sold two million copies across Xbox 360 and PC.Despite a "slow start," said Hakkinen, "it's turning into something really positive," something that has "definitely had legs." Hakkinen hinted Alan Wake definitely has a future, echoing sentiments we heard at DICE earlier this year.Be sure to read our recent interview for more on Alan Wake's rocky road to success.
