Harmonix has made official the previously reported Rock Band country music track pack for the week of December 16. Judging by the comments in the earlier post, the tracks may not be your cup of tea, but please keep the "it's Rock Band" cries to a minimum.Country Pack (680 / $8.49) Brad Paisley - "Mud on the Tires" (160 / $2) Brooks & Dunn - "Hillbilly Deluxe" (160 / $2) Dierks Bentley - "Free & Easy (Down the Road I Go)" (160 / $2) Dixie Chicks - "Sin Wagon" (160 / $2) Miranda Lambert - "Gunpowder & Lead" (160 / $2) All tracks are masters and will be available for download next Tuesday and Thursday for Xbox 360 and PS3, respectively. Now that we've gotten a few more genres checked off the list, what do you say we see some Roots Crew from Philly represented, eh Harmonix?

Well, we reckon it's almost official now. According to Country Music Television's (CMT) blog, the previously mentioned Rock Back country music pack is coming on December 16th to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The report claims five songs will be part of the pack, and names Bentley, Brad Paisley, Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert and the Dixie Chicks as the artists. If Rock Band sticks to tradition, we'll get an official press release Dec. 11th or 12th.We're going to take the moment to re-demand "Jolene" (let's compromise and ask for the White Stripes version), "Who's Gonna Mow Your Grass" and "The Gambler" for some point in the future.

Note: The above video is not a part of Rock Band Weekly. And that's a shame. This week's serving of Rock Band DLC brings together a hodge podge of European bands as well as a free song from Miranda Cosgrove. We've also got two from Naked Brothers Band -- who, as it turns out, has no relation whatsoever to the Barenaked Ladies.Individual Tracks "Headphones On" - Miranda Cosgrove ($Free) "Are You Dead Yet" - Children of Bodom (80 / $1)* "Tutto E' Possibile " - Finley (80 / $1)* "Hay Poco Rock N Roll" - Platero y Tu (80 / $1)* "Tempted" - Squeeze (80 / $1)* "Ready, Set, Go" - Tokio Hotel (80 / $1)* "Real World" - The All-American Rejects (80 / $1)* "Body I Occupy" - Naked Brothers Band (80 / $1) "I Don't Want to Go to School" - Naked Brothers Band (80 / $1) Songs marked by an asterisk (*) are available at that price for a month only, after which it'll presumably revert to the standard 160 / $2 price. All tracks are masters and will be available for download next Tuesday and Thursday for Xbox 360 and PS3, respectively.

It's the flood! No, not the Halo kind, but the Rock Band DLC deluge we've been seeing for the last couple months. Looking through our RBW posts, we haven't had a standard three song week since early September. It's been a constant flow of albums or packs with additional individual songs. Clearly, judging by the list below, this week is no exception. Friendly reminder: Rock Band 2 owners shouldn't forget to redeem the code on the back of the game's instruction booklet for the 20 free songs. Even if you don't like all of them, free is free.Dead Kennedys 3 Pack (440 / $5.50) "California Uber Alles" (160 / $2) "Holiday In Cambodia" (160 / $2) "Police Truck" (160 / $2) Mission Of Burma 3 Pack (440 / $5.50) "Mica" (160 / $2) "That's How I Escaped My Certain Fate" (160 / $2) "That's When I Reach For My Revolver" (160 / $2) Century Media Girls of Metal 3 Pack (440 / $5.50) "Forever" - In This Moment (160 / $2) "Closer" - Lacuna Coil (160 / $2) "Swamped" - Lacuna Coil (160 / $2) Individual songs: "Gone" - Crooked X (80 / $1) All tracks are masters and will be available for download next Tuesday and Thursday for Xbox 360 and PS3, respectively.

In an effort to inform the masses (or, at the very least, stop the massive influx of emails coming down the tips line), we thought it'd be wise to inform you to check your inbox to see if you got an email from "Rock Band 2 Game Registrations" with the subject "Your Download Code - Rock Band 2 Bonus DLC." We don't want to spoil the contents ... but it's a 25-digit code to get the 20 bonus Rock Band 2 tracks. The digital track pack is one giant 540.73 MB download, so put it in your queue and get ready to rock out to a bunch of bands you've probably never heard of. If you haven't gotten your email yet, don't fret, as Harmonix previously said the codes would be sent during a 24 hour window.

Click to embiggen When the official announcement finally came last week that Rock Band 2 would release today on Xbox 360, one little bullet point on the press release about an additional 20 free DLC songs nagged us. Looking at the back of the Rock Band 2 manual now, we still have no idea what the DLC is, but we do know how we're going to get it. Going to the site listed in the image above currently gives this message: "Please check back in a few days for the opportunity to enter your Registration Code and sign up to receive the Bonus Downloadable Tracks." We've been told by Harmonix the tracks will release later this year. Also, while we're on the subject, transferring the original Rock Band tracks to the sequel is really as simple as purchasing the license. No muss, no extra fuss.

Buried on the 11th paragraph on a story about Rock Band 2, The Associated Press reports this morning that 12 tracks from The Who "ranging from 'My Generation' to 'Who Are You' will release for Rock Band on July 15." Neither of those tracks are from the long-awaited album Who's Next, but at least this is something, right? Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos confirms the rumors that Who's Next's release has been delayed due to missing master tracks. He said The Who's Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey helped get a best-of soundtrack together of what could be found. The songs will be $2 a piece or sold as a pack for $20. We've sent a request to Harmonix for more information and we'll update as soon as we finish putting this brick in the wall ... oops, wrong band.[Thanks lv99squall]
