I know what you're thinking upon seeing Aerobiz Supersonic as the chosen title for Virtually Overlooked. While some of you dapper readers might have played the game and can't wait to read and reminisce, most of you (if you've noticed the byline) are probably hoping for JC's swift return to the column next week. Before you pass this over in indifference, though, you should keep in mind that not only is this classic being "virtually overlooked" by Nintendo, but by virtually everyone else as well.

  • What would Super Mario Bros. look like on the Sega Genesis?

var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/nintendo/What_if_Super_Mario_Bros_was_on_the_Sega_Genesis'; We've been loving these fake Super Mario videos that have become all the rage with the kids on the net. It's like someone was reading our diary, reaching into our brain and sifting through the garbled mess of fanboyish dreams that we think about on a daily basis. It may be kind of violating to have someone so accurately recreate our inner-most desires, but it's a small price to pay for the minutes of joy we got out of the video above.See also: What would Super Mario Bros. look like on Atari? What if Super Mario Galaxy was on the SNES?

We apologize for how tardy this is, but something very unfortunate happened. You see, the tripod on our camera broke. This meant trying to balance a camera on a stack of about a billion DVDs. It didn't come out perfect, but at least we got you a majority of the screen. As for next week, you can get back to expecting the usual high-quality NWF-quality video coverage of the Virtual Console releases.

So, it's the final week of 2007 and what do we have to show for it? Frickin' Bubble Bobble is what we have got! It's enough for us, hopefully it'll be enough for you. But, on the other hand, the two titles available that don't have a bubble or a bobble in their name aren't that bad, either.

Today is a pretty sweet day for the Virtual Console, what with a high profile, fun game like Bubble Bobble hitting the scene. We can't wait to get our download on later, as we have very fond memories of playing the NES game into the early hours of the morning during our younger years. As for the other titles available, we can't say we're familiar with them, so we're anxious to try the "new to us" games. This week's Virtual Console games include: Bubble Bobble (NES, 1 - 2 players, 500 Wii Points) Light Crusader (Sega Genesis, 1 player, 800 Wii Points) Top Hunter (NeoGeo, 1 - 2 players, 900 Wii Points) And, of course, be sure to stop back later for our video wrap-up.

Today, a small piece of our childhood will be relived through the release of Blades of Steel. When compared to another popular NES hockey game from Nintendo, Blades of Steel might not be all too great, but it certainly took up more of this blogger's time than the other title back in the day. Rare platform lovers will also be happy to hear that Donkey Kong Country 3 also hits today. So, if you celebrate Christmas, then consider this a present from Nintendo. One that you have to pay for yourself. This week's Virtual Console releases include: Blades of Steel (NES, 1 - 2 players, 500 Wii Points) Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble (SNES, 1 - 2 players, 800 Wii Points) Rolling Thunder 2 (Genesis, 1 - 2 players, 800 Wii Points) Be sure to stop back later for our video wrap-up.
