Oh look, it's me again. Looks like Gray came down with another case of the "feelin' fuzzies." He didn't look good when I saw him this morning in the WoW.com war room. Gangly and green and that other thing, with the grossness. Anyway. I'm sure he's fine. Probably related to that fan art issue ... Gray has entrusted me with the monumental task of a very special Moviewatch rerun of the greatest paladin machinima ever created -- How to Paladin IX. Shepiwot is basically the greatest machinamator that the community has ever seen. Paladins are in the news a lot these past few weeks, due to the cataclysmic (haw haw) changes to their class (again) so close to an expansion's release (again.) Now, I don't fancy myself a great machinimator -- I made one once on a dare to make the worst best movie I could. Shepiwot makes my endeavor look like a children's finger painting class. Abstract, deep and thought-provoking, the How to Paladin series reaches deep into every paladin's heart and soul, revealing the motivations and machinations of truly being one with the class. When I close my eyes, I only see holy power. How to Paladin got me there. And it was good. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Some legends are so strong, they can nearly stand on their own merits. Nearly. The paladin class is one of those legends. It is a powerful class. It is built of holy Light and vast capability. But the class is only a tool. Like any tool, that class must be picked up and wielded with grace and competency in order to reach its full potential. We need a leader; someone must show us the way to true honor. Where can we find such a person?Shepiwot is such a person. The Master of Paladins -- perhaps the finest ever to grace Azeroth -- has returned to bless us with How to paladin XXXV. As a special bonus, Shepiwot takes the time to celebrate Brewfest in How to paladin XXXV. Or, at least, to get completely sauced. Other than that, I shall let the video speak for itself. Tremble, mortals. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? • WoW Moviewatch: How to paladin XXXII

Just when the world seemed dark and without hope, just when it seemed like there could be no victory, just when it seemed everything that's right and good about the world would be extinguished like a match between Arthas's forefinger and thumb . . . a hero arises. And that hero is Shepiwot. How to paladin XXXII is the continuation of Shepiwot's How to paladin series, obviously. It's hard to define Shepiwot's genre exactly. He's created something entirely his own. It's not PvP video, obviously, and it's certainly not Belf Rap. But, ultimately, it is unique and without peer. But as I sit here, watching it over and over, like decyphering the Dead Sea Scrolls, I can tell you that it certainly is "How to paladin."I will close with this simple comment. Holy crikey, I can't believe there are thirty one other installments in this series. Talk about a legacy! I look forward to "How to paladin XXXIII."[Via WarcraftMovies.com]

This has been a rather newsworthy week. We've had Nyhm's final goodbye and the release of No Point: Stretching Time. Now, we see the return of a man Baron Soosdon calls "THE DIVINE ONE." Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you How To Paladin XXXI.Like Moo Money said many moons ago, it's hard to categorize Shepiwot's work. It's pretty firmly in the "WTF" category, and I think it's probably best if we just leave it there. You're probably going to find the How To Paladin series funny, entertaining, or just plain annoying. Maybe all three. I'm in the "it's entertaining" camp, and I can live with that. This edition has everything you might expect from Shepiwot journeying to Northrend. Dancing, dancing, and more dancing. Some fighting. Tanks! Explosions! Over all, it's a crazy, whacky ride. It felt to me like it moved faster than previous editions, which is probably a good thing."How to Paladin" might not be your cup of tea. But, for the fast pace of the film, it won't take you long to drink it.If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ..

This is a hard post to make. I've grown so fond of the commentary and insults that it's difficult for me to tell you that today is my last day at WoW Insider. I've received an opportunity to work in machinima that will allow me to help machinimators in a whole new way. However, my replacement, Natalie Mootz, is an excellent blogger and I'm sure she'll make you proud! I'll miss you guys.Instead of being overly sappy, I thought I'd do a top five list of my favorite machinimas and scandals: Here Without You - This love story is three and a half years old, but has stood the test of time. First of May - This extremely not-safe-for-work video caused a riot on Valentine's Day! Thaenor Chronicles: Chapter One - The only movie where I've been accused of ruining a PR campaign. Tunasushi - The time I accidentally blogged a movie with questionable subliminal images. How to Paladin: Insanity Remix - I honestly have no words to even describe this video ... 9 Crimes - A bonus video that was blogged before I got to WoW Insider, but touched me nonetheless. (Apparently Vimeo decided that this video wasn't artistic enough. They deleted it!)It's a well known fact that I rarely feature gameplay and PvP videos on Moviewatch. However, as long as they're artistic, I don't have a problem with them. As a matter of fact, now that I'm playing WoW again (as Moowi on Mal'Ganis!), I actually enjoy seeing them. The thing is, the UI needs to be off, some shots need to be sweeping, and I look for an overall cinematic quality in general.Paus, of Bathing with Ghosts fame, has created a beauty of a movie to show off the PvP skills of Ayanas, of Trollbane EU, in Waarom Fred zuigt in PvP. It makes me wonder what Shepiwot, of the How to Paladin series, would be capable of if he had a more complex editing program than Windows Movie Maker. As for actual display of skill, the poor guy keeps dying, but that's dwarfed by high definition (Boooooo, Vimeo!) spinning and jumping, plus an epic soundtrack! If you have any suggestions, such as artistic PvP videos, for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com with a brief explanation of the action.Previously on Moviewatch ...

  • WoW Moviewatch: Baron Soosdon and Pinkhair win Synergy contest by a landslide

When I wrote about the Warcraftmovies Synergy contest for machinima three days ago, I had no idea just how close of a fight it would be. The results are in and it was literally a battle to the death. Baron Soosdon and Pinkhair beat Martin Falch by a whopping three votes, with final scores of 299 to 296. Over the next few days, we'll be looking at the winners and giving requested feedback to some of the ones that didn't place.Baron Soosdon and Pinkhair's machinima followed along with the Busted script, but there were multiple little touches that really made the film. In addition to weaving his 3d magic throughout, Pinkhair also used a third party program, Crazytalk, to animate the lips of one of the characters. Caruu mastered the sound, while he, Drewbie, Olibith, and Selserene voice acted. There are also tributes to the great Shepiwot, Drewbie's character from The Grind, the Robber Baron of Warsong Gulch, and the cast of Snacky's Journal. Even I played a part in it by ruining their PR campaign -- or so they say! Try to keep in mind that neither script was good, so the contenders didn't have a lot to work with in the way of variation. Now that it's over, I hope that Warcraftmovies will use a different method for their contest next time![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

The day we've all been waiting for has finally arrived. Shepiwot has made a large number of movies in his How to Paladin series, but XXX officially marks his 30th. In what is possibly my favorite one yet, he hops around, dances, and kills things to epic music, but with a special flair. While having no plot, no style, and no substance, we wouldn't have it any other way. Shepiwot's brand of machinima is so uniquely bad that it has spawned insults, death threats, and declarations of love at the same time. It reminds me of my very first machinima, where I jumped about without a care in the world ...[Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ..

Olibith informed us the other day that it's a little too naughty for this blog.)Shepiwot is so close to Episode 30 of his How to Paladin series! Episode 29, or XXIX, finds him in Quel'danas and killing Kael'thas. At what point do you think that he'll get a lifetime achievement award? With 71 machinimas under his belt, of which none of them have been sabotaged by me, and one WCM recommendation, we definitely think that he qualifies![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

(The sinister Baron Soosdon felt that Vimeo was the best quality stream, so he made me change it from the Veoh stream. Now it has a funky looking aspect ratio! However, he does not blame me for destroying his non-existant PR campaign, so it's okay.)The year is 1985. Gnomeregan merges with Aperture Science, which causes a chain reaction, altering history forever. In 1987, they decide to install GLaDOS on a mechanistrider, which leads to a killing spree in 1989. In the distant future, only MechaMurlocs exist, except for one determined little gnome. If you can believe it, Baron Soosdon completed this movie in one day! He was apparently inspired by an infectious tune that was mentioned in #machinima on Quakenet IRC. For more information about This Device Has Been Modified, check out his blog, but be sure to download the high quality version.[Thanks, Baron!]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

When I was told about the new change to the site, I wasn't sure what to think. However, after some research, I discovered that HKO machinimators are so much more talented than their WoW counterparts, save for Shepiwot, of course. In the video that Sanrio Digital made to show off their upcoming MMO, it's obvious that you can literally do almost anything. I can't say enough about this machinima. From the cinematic quality to the music, it's perfect in every way. I can hardly wait to try my hand at some in-world footage!(WoW Moviewatch fans, if you're out there, send machinima to machinima AT wowinsider DOT com and help me convince them that they've made the wrong choice. For a guy that has enough hate mail to make it into a feature length movie "best of," you wouldn't know it. Stoker just keeps on making How to Paladins. Can you believe that he's almost at HtP30?In How to Paladin XXVIII, Shepiwot journeys to the tournament realm ... and then runs around like a madman. I have to hand it to him. When he finds a format, he sticks to it. You guys know the drill. It's the same wackiness, but a different setting. We recently stumbled upon the, uh, spirited machina style of Shepiwot. Now, I'm not a big fan of 22 minute videos, but watching one of these is like all those 22 minutes compressed into six. I could try to explain this movie, but I'm not sure if that's possible. The first time I viewed the latest video in the How to Paladin series, my jaw was on the floor the entire time. If you have some kind of insight into what goes on in Shepiwot's head, please let me know.Htp Insanity remix is almost six minutes of head scratching, seizure inducing machinima. He really has a gift for finding epic music and getting the timing down, but how does he come up with this stuff? Be on the lookout for his next video, How to paladin: Driven to Insanity remix. It's taken Shepiwot only 10 months to create 26 How to Paladin videos, as well as several spinoffs. He's received countless death threats and plenty of discouragement, but he keeps on going. Love or hate them, they're like an accident that you can't look away from. If I had to categorize his movies, I'd place them in the "WTF" genre. In Episode 26, Shepiwot goes to Naxxramas. He's included everything that you've come to expect from a Shepiwot original. There's epic music, epic hopping, epic cliff jumping, epic camera spinning, and epic ... epic. That's all I've got. For one glorious hour yesterday, I had the chance to chat with the great Shepiwot, of the How to paladin series. He mentioned that he would soon start editing the 26th episode. In the meantime, he had a special treat for us while we waited. How to paladin Crusader Strike focuses on what happens when Shepiwot finds a giant sword and decides to test out the buff to Crusader Strike. What follows is the epic account of the event. Fans will notice that this is a slight departure from the rest of the Htp series, but still quite enjoyable.Previously on Moviewatch...

In an effort to become closer to the great paladin master, Shepiwot, Baron Soosdon has released his tutorial on "How to Boobadin" for your "Epixs Mount." It is 1 minute and 14 seconds of pure joy, set to the sweet sounds of the Guitar Hero soundtrack. Baron fans may notice that this is second time he has emulated his idol, with the first being "LOL, Lightwell."If you're not familiar with the "How to Paladin" series, by Shepiwot, it is about a seriously ADD paladin that finds himself in a variety of PvE situations. Throw in some death threats, out of control camera action, and text presets, and you've got a recipe for a seizure, or 25 ... Whose tutorials do you prefer?Previously on Moviewatch...
