  • J. Lo brings latest album to Gresso flash drive

Nah, J. Lo won't go down as the first artist to sell an album via flash drive, but she's certainly raising the bar concerning price. Apparently, Gresso has landed an agreement with Sony BMG Music Entertainment that allows it to distribute Lopez's "Brave" album on the Adam&Eve flash drive, which features 1GB of storage and is crafted from African Mahogany or African Blackwood. Word on the street has this one landing later this month for around $70, and while it's only a supposition, we could definitely see this thing selling better without the musical connection. Europeans that just so happen to be in the market for a new GPS system and consider pink their favorite color can uncork that bottle of Champagne, as Garmin truly is coming through and delivering not one, but two pink navigators to your homeland. Both the nuvi 200 and nuvi 250 are set to hit Europe in "candy pink and powder pink" hues, and while the nuvi 200 seems to be exclusive to Halfords, the limited edition nuvi 250 should be more widely available. Aside from the color options and the "matching accessory case," the duo looks to remain unchanged from their less vivid siblings, and both are slated to land next month for £169.99 ($347) and £199.99 ($409), respectively.[Via Pocket-Lint]

It's October, which inevitably means that we'll be seeing a healthy dose of gadgets in pink as manufacturers look to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This particular device, however, means a touch more to the cause than most, as both Ford and Microsoft are teaming up to donate "100-percent of the purchase price" to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Granted, this 30GB Zune is one of those first-generation models, and while we're not told exactly how many were produced, it is being marketed as a limited edition piece. So for those more concerned with the cause, infatuated with pink and absolutely cool with not receiving a second-gen Zune (any takers?), you can grab one now for $249.99.[Thanks, Slice]

Don't look now, but Jack and Meg are at it again. Yep, the White Stripes are once more reaching out to the retro lovin', geeked-out crowd by offering up a set of "all-plastic," limited edition Lomography cameras. The JACK Holga and MEG Diana+ seem to only differ from their standard counterparts externally, but fans of the band are sure to appreciate the Rob Jones-designed motifs. Notably, the JACK Holga Starter Kit includes "an additional Fisheye lens, three filter set and a custom Peppermint lens filter," while MEG's version comes with the "Nobody Knows How To Talk To Children" ringflash and a custom Peppermint Film Mask filter. Both kits are available as we speak for $180 apiece, but you better make haste, as only 3,000 of each camera were constructed. Check out a few more looks after the break.[Thanks, Favian]

Releasing gizmos to commemorate the 2008 Olympics in Beijing is becoming somewhat of a recurring theme, and the Samsung Anycall 18K Golden Edition E848 is keepin' the trend alive. Reportedly, the handset features an 18K golden reflective surface to compliment the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games logo imprinted on the back. Additionally, it boasts a 2.2-inch 320 x 240 resolution LCD, integrated media player, support for H.263 / MP3 / AAC / WMA / MPEG4 formats, quad-band connectivity, 70MB of internal memory, a microSD expansion slot, Bluetooth 2.0, A2DP, USB 2.0 and a talk time of around five hours. Amosu's at it again, and while its £12,000 ($24,475) diamond-clad Nokia isn't the priciest handset we've ever seen, it's still more than most of our wallets can handle. This N95 is reportedly coated in 18-carat white gold and smothered with 325 diamonds totaling 3.3-carats. Furthermore, only ten of these beauties will ever be created, with each of them boasting its production number and having the ability to be customized to the customer's liking. If you're into this type of thing, and have absolutely nothing better to spend your cash on than a phone you'll never use, hit the read link and break the bank.

Listen up kids -- the holidays have come way early. We've got our hands on the special edition Xbox 360 all done up in Halo 3 fashion... but that's not all. The boys from Redmond sent a massive, massive package our way, including a giant, custom army bag, custom dog tags, two army meal rations, a first aid kit, the Xbox itself, two Halo 3 controllers and a headset, plus some other stuff hidden in the nooks and crannies. But -- there's one thing in the box we weren't expecting... and that's the crazy Legendary Edition packaging for the game itself, housed in a full size, manically detailed Master Chief helmet. Hit the gallery and feast your eyes on all the (presumably) rare goodness in our Engadget-style unboxing of the bag and system. We can honestly say we're a bit stoked on this.%Gallery-7682%

  • Show and Tell: Straight outta Japan

With all the news from TGS this week, we thought it might be the perfect time to tie in with a little Show and Tell session featuring the limited edition DS Lites those of us outside Japan so often sigh over. Reader Eoghan sent in the picture available after the break, and now we just want to track down the location of these goodies and rob them. And then we thought ... if PAX is a veritable DS mecca, what must the crowd at TGS look like? These things could be everywhere. Oh well. Since we're not there to ogle the array of Lites, we'll just have to make due with Eoghan's very pretty picture.Got something you want to show off? Crafts, cakes, collections from modest to extreme, t-shirts ... whatever you've got, if it has a little Nintendo flavor, we want to see it. Just take some pictures (or copy your web album links) and send them to showmeit [at] dsfanboy [dot] com. We'll take care of the rest.

Hard to believe that Wacom has been around for a quarter century, but this month marks its 25th year in business. To celebrate, the firm is introducing a trio of Intuos3 Special Edition pen tablets in a variety of sizes including 6- x 8-, 6- x 11-, and 9- x 12-inches. Each tablet touts "a refined and sophisticated black and gun metal gray color scheme," Wacom's Classic Pen to compliment the Intuos3 Grip Pen, an accessory kit, and a transparent overlay "to substitute with the traditional gray overlay." All three units play nice with both Macs and PCs and can be snapped up for $369, $409 and $489 from smallest to largest.[Via PC World]

  • Rumor or error: the all-red DS Lite

Sharp-eyed reader Fashnootin noticed something interesting while poking around the Best Buy website -- the Brain Age 2 bundle. But not the super-hot two-toned Lite we've been drooing over, oh no ... this Lite is all red. Now, we've seen the gorgeous red and black Lite in the hands of some of our fellows, so we know it exists -- so what's with this one? Could there be another bundle? Another new DS Lite? Or is it simply a mistake on Best Buy's behalf? We snagged a screencap of the image just in case it disappears. Reader thrillho also caught a picture in the sales flyer, so it's not a one-off. We do so love to start the mornings off with a little gossip, and this pic is as juicy as a ripe strawberry. We rather prefer the red and black model, but we wouldn't say no to an all-red Lite, either.[Thanks, Fashnootin and thrillho!]

  • Sony offering up Swarovski crystal-clad E010 DAPs

Just in case you've been out of the loop for some time, this DAP certainly won't go down as the first to come glazed in Swarovski crystals, but Sony has nevertheless teamed up with Abiste Corporation to craft the limited edition Walkman E010 lineup. The players will be available in pink, violet, black, blue, or gold colors, have removable caps adorned with Swarovski glass crystals, and won't arrive to your domicile for two solid months after you initially place an order. 'Course, those even remotely interested in one of these beauties should know that it won't come sans a premium, and while you can snag the lowly 1GB flavor for "just" ¥15,800 ($134), the 2GB rendition will run you ¥18,800 ($160) while the 4GB unit demands ¥24,800 ($210) -- while supplies last, mind you.[Via Luxist]

  • Halo 3 Xbox 360 pre-orders go live

    08.09.2007

Just two days after learning that the oh-so-covetable Halo 3-themed Xbox 360 would be landing next month, EBGames now has the console available for pre-order. Currently, the site is listing September 16th as the official ship date, but we wouldn't put too much stock into that number just yet. Coincidentally, Microsoft has also made known today that "over one million" copies of Halo 3 have been reserved in North America, which reportedly shatters "pre-order records in the video game industry." Also noteworthy is the tidbit about the "exclusive Halo 3 Gamer Pics and Theme" that comes bundled in with the special edition package, and while we doubt this minutiae will sway you one way or another, at least you now know precisely what your $399.99 will be buying.Read - Halo 3 Xbox 360 pre-orderRead - Halo 3 title exceeds one million pre-orders

Sure, we already knew the Halo 3-themed Xbox 360 was on the horizon, and we even warned you to save a bit extra for those Halo-clad accessories, but now we're absolutely certain that you better have the necessary dough by next month if you're looking to be an early adopter. Yep, Microsoft's special edition console will be landing sometime in September for $399.99, and will include "an authentic Spartan green-and-gold finish," matching wireless controller, a 20GB hard drive, headset, a Play and Charge Kit, and "more" -- though we're not exactly sure what the latter may be. Get in line early folks, we've got all ideas this will be a fairly hot commodity.[Via Joystiq]

  • Limited edition Pikachu DS Lite found in the wild

    08.02.2007

Attempting to cope with the painful realization that we'll never receive one of these limited edition yellow DS Lites, we have adapted several "Your Mama" snaps to use as insults on the people who actually have them. Here is what we've come up with so far: Your DS Lite is so yellow, traffic slows down when you take it out. Your DS Lite is so yellow, we can't believe it's not butter. Your DS Lite is so yellow, Crest Whitestrips told it to go to the damn dentist. Your DS Lite is so yellow, you've mistaken it for corn on the cob at least twice. These are really bad, we know. If you can come up with anything better, leave your suggestion in the comments! Past the post break, we've got a couple photos of the Pikachu-emblazoned handheld. Collectors had to submit an application at one of Japan's five Pokémon Center's last June just for a chance to buy the canary-colored system. If you were stuck in the US or anywhere else that wasn't the land of the rising sun, you were out of luck. How rude!

  • Crimson / black DS Lite for sale in America?

Alright kids, no more complaining that Canada gets all the good stuff. 'Course, all of us North Americans still have a bone to pick with Japan and South Korea, but that's another story for another day. Apparently, the crimson / black DS Lite that snuck up on us last week at Future Shop has made its way south to the US of A -- or at least, it had. According to DSFanboy, GameStop had the specially colored bundle (which included Brain Age 2 but sadly omitted the carrying case) listed on it's website for $149.99, but now it seems that the item has been yanked. Keep your eyes peeled Americans, it ought to pop back up in due time.[Via DSFanboy]

    07.14.2007

'Round these parts, we can't help but show a little extra love for anything slapped with an oh-so-coveted "limited edition" label, and for folks in the market for a new HP laptop (and residing in Japan, by the way), here's one especially for you. The dv6500 CT Special Edition is said to be limited to 1,000 units and will reportedly sport a 15.4-inch LCD, an Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 processor, VGA output, several USB ports, and a 1,280 x 800 resolution panel -- but it sounds like everything else can be customized to your liking. The most glaring difference here, however, is the snow white casing and Special Edition badges, which will surely incite envy in those who didn't quite get their orders in on time. Prices start at just ¥119,700 ($979) for the most basic of configurations, but you may as well splurge on the CTO extras if you actually manage to secure a unit, no?[Via AVing]UPDATE: Seems like this machine may not be limited to Japan after all, huzzah!

  • Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition matches the PS3 quite well

    06.27.2007

We've talked about it before, but now we've got official confirmation about the Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition via a press release. Just as speculated, the game will come in a metal safety deposit box along with a bunch of goodies. We'll list them below. Both the 360 and PS3 game case will have unique, or otherwise "special" packaging. An art book with some never-before-seen GTAIV production artwork. A soundtrack with new material from top artists that are exclusive to this release. Fancy Rockstar keychain to protect your keys and ward off evil, supposedly. Finally, a limited edition Rockstar duffel bag. Yes, the speculation seems to have been 100% true on this special edition. Even the price is dead on -- $89.99 for a pre-order in the US. This time, though, we've scored a few screenshots in our gallery below to give you an idea what the items look like. They're pretty sexy.%Gallery-4317%

Another Square Enix game, another special-edition DS Lite. SE seems to have set up a template for these: logo on the left, line art on the right, money in the bank. This time, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates gets the special-edition treatment on a Crystal White DS Lite. For Japan, obviously. We like the pseudo-stained-glass look, which can be found in full color on the box. This new DS variant is great news for people who were holding out on a DS purchase until the Japanese Ring of Fates came out. It's probably a little irritating for Square Enix fans who already have a plain DS.
