  • Philips and Swarovski offer up crystal-clad USB drives

It's not like we haven't seen ritzy USB drives before, but we can't say we expected the relatively conservative Philips to join forces with a top name in the glitz industry and kick out a couple of very superfluous devices. Partnering with Swarovski, the duo is loosing the Active Crystals collection of 1GB USB drives (and sparklin' headphones, too) onto the fashion-conscience set, and aside from sporting a variety of crystal-clad exteriors, they're pretty vanilla everywhere else. Of course, we can't imagine these straying too far from the velvet bag you'll surely tote it around in, and using this out in the mad, mad world probably isn't advisable, but you can still make the lady friend in your life joyous by handing her one of these yet-not-priced luxuries come August.[Via ShinyShiny]

  • Touchmate's Craz M800 with fake diamonds

The Touchmate Craz M800 Gold is touted as the "world's smallest mobile with built-in-diamond & MP4," and let's be honest, you can't beat that with even the heaviest stick. While we get the MP4 bit, we couldn't for the life of us find where the diamond actually was. Sadly, with a bit more research, grim realization struck, cold, hard, and fast: it's a "Swarovski Crystal Diamond," not a real diamond at all. After we got over the shock, called friends and had it stricken from our wish lists, we were able to get to the deets. The Craz M800 packs 128 MB of built-in memory, audio and video recording via USB (we have no clue), and a 1.3 megapixel camera, all wrapped in a spiffy leather tote case. No word on what band it is, or even what technology it is using, but let's face it -- in this case, that's just as well. [Via I4U]

Softbank Mobile customers finding that their Samsung-sourced 707SCs aren't getting the sheer volume of mesmerized stares they were hoping for, we come bearing good news: you can now re-up the chances for hypnotizing passers-by into a dazzled trance with crystal encrusted versions of your phone, courtesy of the good folks at Swarovski. Personally, with its HSDPA, QVGA display, video calling, and 2 megapixel cam, we thought the 11.2mm phone was hot enough as-is -- but adding sparkle never hurts. We guess.[Via Gearfuse]

The latest in a trend to adorn gaming goods with Swarovski crystals comes from Japanese designer Tikko. For a mere 45,000 yen (about $380), you can protect your DS Lite's outer shell with a solid-crystal barrier. And it sparkles! For the record, real hardcore gamers don't splurge on crystals, we improvise, we shred jeans, saving money for what counts, the games.See also: Would you like ice with that Xbox 360?[Thanks, Trixie]

  • Gorenje Eye-Catchers: Get an iced out fridge for 10,000

Clearly there's one niche market that the über-rich must have been clamoring for to the appliance manufacturers of the world: how to combine a fridge with obscene amounts of shinyness? Fear not, Gorenje UK, the British division of a company from <strike>the former Yugoslavia</strike> Slovenia, has developed an extremely limited line of refrigerators (known appropriately as "The Eye-Catchers") lined with rows upon rows of Swarovski crystals (7,000 to be precise). Act now kids, because Gorenje is only making 10 of these, and they retail for £10,000 (nearly $19,000). For that price, the combined 331 L (87.4 gallons) capacity fridge-freezer also comes with a radio receiver, a "cookery book" (we assume that's a cookbook), voice messages and a voice alarm. You can catch a glimpse of one of these on the company's website, and at Harrods in London. This fridge too rich for you? Don't worry, there's a budget model priced at only £1400 -- but it only comes with 3500 crystals, so really, what's the point of that? More photos on the flip side. [Via Pocket Lint]

You don't feel too bad if you haven't heard of Jay Chou (unless you're a big T-pop fan, that is), who's apparently the bee's knees in Taiwan these days. Apparently so big he got to sign some silly endorsement contract (like so many before him) with YesAsia to produce the J III, a Swarovski crystal encrusted flash player limited to 2000 pieces for about $270 US. Dude, he totally sold out; we're like, never watching a Jay Chou movie again. But it's the Jay wallpaper, demo tracks, voice message, and pre-loaded soundtrack music from his newest film that's sure a huge seller with super nerdy 12 year old girl anime fans the States over.
