The banners are up at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, and tomorrow at 10 AM PST / 1 PM EST, Apple is expected to announce a new iPad and possibly a new Apple TV. The entire crew here at TUAW would love for you to join us for a day-long celebration of the event. The fun starts tomorrow at 9:30 AM PT / 12:30 PM EST when our chatroom will open up for discussion with the TUAW team. Join us in the #tuaw chatroom on irc.freenode.net. Kevin Avila (eddienull) will be moderating. At 9:45 AM PT / 12:45 PM ET, the official TUAW metaliveblog launches with Erica Sadun behind the keyboard and our new liveblogging tool in control. With this cool new tool, you can scroll back and forth in time to see what you missed while running to the bathroom, and there's absolutely no browser refreshing required. Many thanks to Erik Sagen, Joe Bartlett, and Brett Terpstra for their outstanding work on the front end of the new liveblog tool. This was Joe's first project with the team, and according to Brett he got a "roaring start out of the gate." Kudos to the Blogsmith team for their work on the back end of the system. During and after the liveblog, be sure to check TUAW for breakout posts describing any and all new features and products. At 2 PM PST / 5 PM EST, you can join Kelly Guimont and myself here or at ustream.tv/tuaw for an hour long TUAW TV Live. We'll be talking about the announcement and would love for you to join us. It's all here and all live, tomorrow on TUAW.

On today's episode of TUAW TV Live, we'll be talking about next week's announcement of the next-generation iPad, showing off some apps, and all-in-all just having some fun. Next week at this time, we'll hopefully have all the details -- but what's so fun about that? Speculation is much more exciting. Below, you'll find a Ustream livestream viewer and a chat tool. The chat tool allows you to participate by asking questions or making comments. If you're driving somewhere and would like to watch TUAW TV Live while you're stuck in traffic, please don't -- keep your eyes on the road! However, if someone else is doing the driving, you can watch the show on your iPhone and join the chat by downloading the free Ustream App. It's a universal app and is wonderful on an iPad, both for viewing and participating in the chat. We'll start at about 5 PM ET, so if you're seeing a prerecorded show, be sure to refresh your browser until you see the live stream. For those of you who are not able to join us for the live edition, you'll be able to view it later this evening on our TUAW Video YouTube channel and as part of the TUAW TV Live podcast viewable in iTunes or on any of your Apple devices.

It's one week exactly until the world knows what the new iPad is all about. For many of us here at TUAW, that means getting prepared to do a lot of writing about the new features, putting our existing iPads up for sale, and eagerly anticipating what cool new things we'll be able to do with our new toys when they arrive. That means it's a great time to pump up the excitement today on TUAW TV Live. If everything works correctly, this should also be our first truly HD show (720p). The issues with the HD webcam have been fixed thanks to the latest version of Wirecast Pro, and you'll get to see me and the demos in all their 720p glory. At least the demos will look good... And speaking of looking good, many thanks to TUAW TV Live viewer Uri Kelman, who designed the new logo you see at the top of the page. As usual, I'll be starting the show at 5 PM EDT (2 PM PDT / 10 PM BST) sharp, and we'll take a few minutes to chat before the demos start. To join in on the chat and watch the live streaming video, drop by TUAW about five minutes before the start time to get your instructions on how to participate. If you're unable to join us for the show, remember that you can always subscribe to the video podcast and watch the show at your leisure in iTunes or any other favorite podcatching app. The past shows are also available on the TUAW YouTube channel. The chat is now available as well on IRC: join us on server chat1.ustream.tv, chat room #tuaw-tv.

Once again it's Understudy Wednesday on TUAW TV Live, meaning you get a bonus dose of TUAW Talkcast host Kelly, and co-host (or partner in crime, depending who you ask) Doc Rock. Since Apple didn't have the decency to consult the TUAW TV Live schedule, they released Mountain Lion the day after last week's show so this we'll be talking about that and any other news and hardware or demos that Kelly and Doc come up with before the show starts. Below, you'll find a Ustream livestream viewer and a chat tool. The chat tool allows you to participate by asking questions or making comments. If you're driving somewhere and would like to watch TUAW TV Live while you're stuck in traffic, please don't -- keep your eyes on the road! Welcome back to another episode of TUAW TV Live, my weekly opportunity to meet virtually with TUAW readers and chat about what's happening in the world of Apple. This week, I'll round up the latest rumors of the next-generation iPad, talk about some fascinating new products coming from device manufacturers, demo a few iOS apps live, and introduce a video unboxing and review by one of the TUAW TV Live and Talkcast regulars, Paul "Harumph" Gans. Below, you'll find a Ustream livestream viewer and a chat tool. The chat tool allows you to participate by asking questions or making comments. I haven't done a lot of wild speculation about anything Apple in quite a while, so today on TUAW TV Live, I'll warm up the conjecture engine and we'll chat about what to expect from Apple in the next couple of months. Not that I know anything special, mind you, but it'll be fun to think about could be coming from Cupertino based on the various trace amounts of evidence and rumor that are making their way around the web. I'll also have a few video clips to show; one from a source who is very close to TUAW TV Live. 02.01.2012

It's the Wednesday after Macworld | iWorld 2012, I've finally unpacked my suitcase, and now it's time to talk about the event. This year's event was a blur for me, probably because I had a nasty cold that coincided with the busiest days of the show. But now I've had the time to sit back and ponder what I saw, and this afternoon I'll go over the highs and lows of the premier Apple fan event. Below, you'll find a Ustream livestream viewer and a chat tool. The chat tool allows you to participate by asking questions or making comments. If you're driving somewhere and would like to watch TUAW TV Live while you're stuck in traffic, please don't -- keep your eyes on the road! 02.01.2012

Last week at this time, I was preparing for a quick round of interviews at Macworld | iWorld 2012. Now the show is over, and all that is left are the memories and the ringing in my ears caused by the drum circle that closed this year's event. Actually, I was gone by the time the cacophonous banging began, so maybe the ringing was from the TUAW Meetup... On today's TUAW TV Live, I'll talk about some of the high points of Macworld | iWorld 2012, why I think the event has reached a turning point and is heading back to full health, and discuss or demonstrate some of the top products from the show. As usual, I'll be starting the show at 5 PM EDT (2 PM PDT / 10 PM BST) sharp, and we'll take a few minutes to chat before the demos start. 01.25.2012

Today's TUAW TV Live will be a bit shorter than usual -- a half hour -- and come to you from a different location. I'm in San Francisco for Macworld | iWorld 2012 with a number of the other TUAW bloggers and editors, so I thought I'd do a quick show about Macworld | iWorld today. I may or may not have a guest on today's show, although I'm trying my darnedest to wrangle one of the other bloggers into joining me. The topics may range from iBooks Author to Apple's cosmic earnings report yesterday, although as you know I have a tendency to not follow a script... Below, you'll find a Ustream livestream viewer and a chat tool. The chat tool allows you to participate by asking questions or making comments. If you're driving somewhere and would like to watch TUAW TV Live while you're stuck in traffic, please don't -- keep your eyes on the road! If things are this crazy before Macworld | iWorld 2012 even begins, I'm beginning to get worried. The PR requests are coming in by the boatload, and my appointment calendar is beginning to fill up. The boxes filled with giveaways for our TUAW Meetup (sponsored by HP) are ready to ship, and I'm starting to go through my selection of hats to figure out what to bring with me to San Francisco. Today on TUAW TV Live, I'll talk about Macworld past, present and future. In the past, the show was insanely huge, people stood in lines for hours to attend a keynote, and some amazing Apple products were introduced. The present is a much more cozy Macworld that is finally paying homage to the world of iOS, along with a focus on the Apple community. And the future? Who knows -- but I can speculate. Along with talk about Macworld | iWorld, I'll also touch on the topics of Apple's education event tomorrow and the upcoming (1/24) Apple first-quarter earnings call. Oh, yeah -- and maybe something about this Sopapilla thing all you kids are talking about. Below, you'll find a Ustream livestream viewer and a chat tool. The chat tool allows you to participate by asking questions or making comments. If you're driving somewhere and would like to watch TUAW TV Live while you're stuck in traffic, please don't -- keep your eyes on the road! There's lots to talk about on TUAW TV Live this afternoon -- tomorrow is the early morning Apple education event, next Tuesday we'll hear all about how well Apple did in their first quarter earnings call, and next Thursday is opening day of Macworld | iWorld 2012. That means there's plenty of time for speculation over the next week, so why not get an early start with the craziness on today's TUAW TV Live show? Apple's upstaged the entire CES 2012 event by announcing their own education event on January 19 at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC, so now I'll continue the trend by demonstrating some real shipping products for Apple equipment. There's a surprising dearth of Apple-related news this week, other than pundits talking about how almost every company at CES is copying Apple's innovations in one way or another. No worries -- if you're depressed hearing about the latest cheesy MacBook Air clone or some other company's iPad ripoff, I'll cheer you up this afternoon with another episode of TUAW TV Live. Looking into the box of goodies here at the TUAW TV Live studio, I find that I have a pocket-sized analog synthesizer that can be used to process output from an iPad, iPhone or musical instrument; an iPad app that lets you run Microsoft Office on your device for free; a free GPS navigation app; a handful of Apple-related books (both physical and electronic); and other digital flotsam and jetsam that is bobbing around my rapidly sinking desk. Yeahhh, as if we know! Well, actually Doc Rock and I probably have as good a track record at predicting what is going to come out of Cupertino as some of the Wall Street analysts who have been prognosticating this week, and we're certainly more fun to listen to. Hawaii's finest and I will be meeting in the virtual TUAW TV studio this afternoon / evening at 5 PM ET to try to make some sense of the foggy future, and of course we'll be checking your commentary in the chat room. Yep, as noted in the promo post earlier today, this is the second anniversary of the TUAW TV Live show. Over those 104 weeks, I've managed to demonstrate hundreds of new Mac, iPhone, and iPad apps and accessories, have a bunch of fun visitors, and have enjoyed the rantings of the regulars in the chat room. Sometimes, technical issues can make the show a bit of a car wreck. Today's show is going to be more of the same, but with beer. Feel free to join in with your favorite beverage of choice, and we'll have one heck of a party. I'm going to do a lot of demos today -- you can see the list of possible items right here. Time flies when you're having fun. Yes, believe it or not, TUAW TV Live has been polluting the blogosphere every Wednesday afternoon since December 22, 2009, making today the second anniversary of this live video stream. Viewers have been treated to hundreds of product and app demos, interviews with fascinating guests, and most of my hat collection. Today I'll have more of the same on tap, including demonstrations of the Doxie Go scanner ($199), the Verbatim Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Keyboard ($84), Newer Technologies' NuTouch Gloves ($19.99) and NuScribe ($19.99) stylus/pen, the Autriv High-Sensitive Magnetic Stylus ($19.99), the very cool Deckster Re:Class iPod nano watchband (CAD$165), AblePlanet Clear Harmony active noise canceling headphones ($299 with an 8 GB iPod touch), and the most important of all -- the Opena iPhone 4 case (AUD$39.95). Please note that the last demo involves beer... As usual, I'll be starting the show at 5 PM EDT (2 PM PDT / 10 PM BST) sharp, and we'll take a few minutes to chat before the demos start.
