YouTube TV is adding three Spanish-language channels, including Univision, at no extra charge.
Netflix deal brings 'Narcos' to broadcast TV
Did you watch Netflix's Narcos and think it would be a perfect fit for TV? So did Univision. The Spanish-language broadcaster is forging a partnership with Netflix that will bring the first season of the Pablo Escobar crime saga to TV through the Univision Network. You'll also see the first run of Netflix's futbol drama Club de Cuervos air on UniMas. The second seasons of both productions will still be Netflix exclusives (this is more of a promotion than an olive branch), but it's good news if you've wanted to show your friends what all the fuss was about.
Sling TV adds local content to its Latino streaming service
Sling TV recently began catering some services to Spanish-speaking subscribers. In June, the company introduced Sling Latino, a standalone package for people who only wanted access to video content in Español. Today, as part of these plans to reach a broader audience, Sling TV announced it's adding local broadcast feeds from Univision and UniMas to its Latino streaming service. This will give viewers the ability to watch programming that's restricted to certain areas, such as local news shows.
