Congratulations to Extra Life, who have just hit their 500th comic! They have been around for quite some time, since June of 2001, debuting with a bashful Pokemon player caught in the act. Anyways, here are the comics you cannot miss this week: While not exactly game-related, any comic that features zombies and uses Harvest Moon as a punch line is cool with us - take a look at Radioactive Panda. [Thanks, Eliot] For comic #498, the guys at Extra Life gave Mario & Luigi some retro Halloween costumes. The folks at Crashlander discover the mystery behind Nintendo's Revolution controller. Remember The Neverending Story? Have a look-see at GU Comics this week as Shadow of the Colossus jokes continue to make their rounds. "PIVIP" online is hiring, but you are going have to meet some strict qualifications. Finally, Ethan from Ctrl+Alt+Del loses his mind. Again.

It has been another stressful week for the folks at Penny Arcade, but this time the comics have decided to move on to better topics. Here is what you should have at least skimmed over this week: Over at Ctrl+Alt+Del, Lilah explains to Ethan why she will always get her way. Mac Hall comics reveals the insidious underbelly of the cellular phone industry. "Concerned Citizen" writes about his experiences with barrels on Concerned. Flintlocke's Guide to Azeroth is interrupted by an episode of PSI: Pween Scene Investigation. Can a male robot be a nurse? Bob and George discuss (cameo by the Animaniacs!). The folks at Penny Arcade let colossal monsters lament over their unfortunate weak points.

Jack Thompson has put himself back in the news, and the webcomics this week were more than glad to address him, both comically and seriously: Over at Penny Arcade, Gabe and Tycho actually received a phone call from everyone's favorite anti-game activist. Don't forget to check out the front page for Tycho's take on the events. Ctrl+Alt+Del's Tim Buckley creates his own proposal involving angry, rampaging Miami lawyers. He even threatens to bring statisticians into this whole mess. Here is an open letter to Jack Thompson from Mr. Buckley. Hypercombofinish has also produced a timely comic on the matter, involving Jack Thompson taking a stroll at the beach. But Jackie Boy was not the only topic of the week... The cast of Full Metal Alchemist collides with the Boy Who Survived over at VGCats. The Fighter at 8-bit Theatre learns about the importance of using one's brain in making decisions. Flintlocke's Guide to Azeroth is 9 parts into its Goblin Mystery Theatre.

The feedback on your favorite web comics has been enormous: we cannot thank you enough for your help. We must have gone through about 50 different sites looking for the best strips of the week, and here is what we have come up with: At 8-bit Theatre, the Red Mage tries to work out the intricacies of life and a lever. At Nothing Nice to Say, a rock concert gets interrupted by a misunderstood fan. Punks and Nerds reminisce on the broken consoles of old. Concerned gives you a sneak peek at what those Combine soldiers are really learning. Extra Life advises naive World of Warcraft players to be careful when asking for directions. VG Cats takes an in-depth look at X-Men Legends II. Be sure to check out Ctrl+Alt+Del this week, as Lucas' girlfriend will more than likely try to kill him. Since this is the first comic roundup Joystiq has ever done, the format is admittedly very shaky, and any constructive criticism would be very helpful - and feel free to let us (and the readers) know of any webcomics we failed to mention that you think deserve some love.
