  • WoW Moviewatch: Frozey the Snowman

Wowcrendor is definitely having a great Winter Veil with his 10 Days of Winter Veil countdown and a new machinima every day. We're half-way through the countdown now with Frozey the Snowman, an appropriately Azerothian take on on the Frosty the Snowman story. So just how do you make Frosty the Snowman into a uniquely Warcraft creation? Well, I'd hate to give away the ending, but maybe bringing a random snowman to life just isn't the best thing you could do with a magical hat. Maybe. Interested in the wide world of machinima? Wowcrendor is on a roll with the 10 days of Winter Veil celebration he's got going on on his Youtube channel. The latest submission is one of my favorite things -- a pointless top 10 list! Yes, the feature has made a short return with a list of Pointless Top 10 Winterveil Things that you'll see scattered around the world. It didn't take long for the video to completely win me over. Number 8 on the list pretty much sent this particular pointless top 10 to the top of my favorites. I think my favorite part of the film however was the moment in which Wowcrendor was suddenly struck with the idea for a new video while creating this one. There's just something infectious about gleeful excitement (and the video idea was a really good one that I hope we see!). As always, if you like what you're seeing, be sure to check out Wowcrendor's Youtube channel for more holiday hijinks and Warcraft machinima. Interested in the wide world of machinima? Happy Winter Veil! In the latest Winter Veil video from Wowcrendor, we meet young Kilrogg, who's just been given a sweet air-rifle as a Winter Veil present. Between that and the video's title, you can imagine how the plot plays out from there... so just how did Kilrogg lose that eye? The answer involves a cameo from Greatfather Winter because it's the holidays so of course it does. If you're looking for more holiday cheer, Crendor is doing a series of Winter Veil videos, so check out day 1 and day 2 of his 10 Days of Winter Veil countdown if you've missed them. • WoW Moviewatch: Villain Holiday Party

Think your holiday party is awkward? At least you're not a World of Warcraft villain, because their get-togethers never seem to go well. The real question, of course, is whose terrible idea was it for them to have a holiday party -- complete with gifts and strained conversation -- in the first place? Whoever's on the planning committee for this, at least we get to sit back and watch everyone's misery courtesy of Wowcrendor. This is second part of a Winter Veil series of videos by Crendor, so we can only expect more holiday mayhem in the days to come. We're going to count that as a solid entertainment win. Khadgar seems to be everywhere. He's giving you quests and following you around Draenor, but he's also set up camp in the capitol cities of Azeroth to try to recruit fresh faces for the battle against the Iron Horde. (We'd ask how he does it, but the answer would probably involve complicated magical theory and we just don't have the patience.) It's a practical plan: of course Khadgar would want to stake out the busiest areas to catch the attention of adventurers... but it seems to have set him at odds with Greatfather Winter, who's recently arrived to ring in Winter Veil. The latest machinima from Wowcrendor sets us up for a holiday-themed series that pits Khadgar against Greatfather Winter... but as to who will win and who will lose in this epic battle, we'll just have to keep watching. • WoW Moviewatch: A Typical Garrison Day

There may not be as many dailies this expansion, but that doesn't mean that the daily grind is gone, as Wowcrendor explores in this video, which outlines a typical garrison day for (probably) all of us. The endless fishing quests, the failed missions, the followers that just won't stop talking... But maybe Crendor's typical day isn't your typical day. So what do you say, readers? What scenes match up with your daily garrison grind? Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! 10.14.2014

Have you missed Wowcrendor's Pointless Top 10s? Besides a list of the top 10 top 10s, it's been a while since we've seen a new top 10 from Crendor. But wait no more, because we have been graced by a new -- but still completely pointless -- top 10 list. This week, we're talking shipwrecks. Because it's a pointless top 10 and not a super serious top 10 (do those even exist?), there are some liberties taken... like the inclusion of a whale, which is not a ship. (Unless maybe you put a saddle on it.) Still, if you haven't taken the time to explore the myriad coastlines of Azeroth this gives you a look at the surprising number of devastating wrecks along the shorelines. And, while some of these were clearly the work of the cataclysm or attack, with the sheer number of shipwrecks -- the list is a long way from comprehensive -- you've got to wonder whether Azeroth's captains are terrible or Azeroth's ships are terrible. Or maybe both. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? • WoW Moviewatch: Top 10 Pointless Top 10s

    10.11.2014

Holy meta, Batman! Wowcrendor has been making "pointless top 10s" for a while now, and we've been enjoying them. But the most recent list is the very definition of meta, because it's a top 10 list of his own pointless top 10s. If you can wrap your brain around that, it is a fun watch, especially if you've enjoyed other videos in the series, bringing back fond memories of top 10 lists past as well as pointing out oversights in previous lists. Sure, it's not forging bold new territory, but with "pointless" right in the title that's hopefully not what you were expecting in the first place. Interested in the wide world of machinima? If you're lost and wondering just how to get from point a to point b in World of Warcraft, this video by Wowcrendor probably won't help you. However, it does offer a look at the many annoyances and oddities associated with WoW's transportation system. Why can't flightmasters send you places until you've gotten the flight path? Don't they know where that place is? And what about those boats and zeppelins that run 24 hours a day -- when do their poor crews get a break? No, it won't improve your game (or "win" in any conceivable way), but this video probably will make you laugh. Interested in the wide world of machinima? • WoW Moviewatch: Warcraft 3 in World of Warcraft

There's a lot of old Warcraft lore in World of Warcraft, but if you don't know where to look for it you might not even realize it's there. Fortunately, Wowcrendor is here to help with a video that points out all of the Warcraft 3 scenes and settings that you can find inside World of Warcraft. It's a long video, running over 10 minutes, but it covers a lot of Warcraft history and, if you're interested in learning the story behind the locales, it's worth the watch. While loremasters may already know about these places, this Arthas-focused tour of Azeroth might just leave you to look at game locations you've wandered through a hundred times a little differently. Note to self: Never idle in the Lordaeron throne room. That stuff's creepy. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! • WoW Moviewatch: Pointless Top 10: Skies in World of Warcraft

    09.14.2014

Today we have another of Wowcrendor's Pointless Top 10 lists -- this time, doing some more looking up at skies, almost a companion piece of sorts to his earlier top 10 list of ceilings. I'm a big fan of looking up and taking in all the sights when I'm running around Azeroth, but Crendor's managed to point out a couple of skyboxes I really just hadn't taken note of before. For some reason, it appears as though I spent the majority of Wrath of the Lich King doing anything but checking out the sky. While I don't necessarily agree with his number one choice, I've visited the location mentioned quite a few times and admired the sky. I am pretty happy that Winterspring made it on the list, though. Winterspring is one of those kind of underrated zones that people don't really spend a lot of time in, but the skies above all the snowy landscape are honestly some of the prettiest vistas in the game. What do you guys think? Any skies out there that you think should have made the list? Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! • WoW Moviewatch: Pointless Top 10: Trees in World of Warcraft

    09.06.2014

It seems we missed a couple of Wowcrendor's Pointless Top 10 lists along the way somewhere, and I really like these lists. So today we're going to take a look at trees, because trees in WoW are pretty cool, and Crendor's put together a pretty comprehensive list that I mostly agree with. I know these lists probably seem silly to some people, but I like them -- they're nice little reminders of those cool little things I like about WoW, but usually forget about in the hustle and bustle of doing quests, raids, and other content-related stuff. I really like the lists like this one, however, because it's not just a reminder that maybe it's sometimes a cool idea to check out the world around you while you play. It's kind of a tip of the hat of sorts to the environmental artists that took the time to put these things together. And this particular list is a really cool visual reminder just how much the environment and the level of detail in things like trees has changed since the early days of vanilla. Foliage has definitely come a long way. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? • WoW Moviewatch: Pointless Top 10: Banks in World of Warcraft

You know what I like? All those little pointless things in WoW that most people don't really think about. That's why I really enjoy Wowcrendor's Pointless Top 10 lists, and he absolutely does not disappoint with his latest list, which highlights a variety of different banks. Most of the time, we don't even think about banks as anything other than a place to go to put the stuff we aren't currently using but, for some reason, really want to squirrel away and keep. They aren't really anything we actively take a moment to look at. Crendor's top 10 list takes the time to point out all those cool little things about the banks we take for granted. There are a few details he mentioned on the list that I hadn't really given much thought to or taken particular notice of, and I've been playing this game for ten years. But the main reason I love this particular top 10 list is because I hands down, without question absolutely agree with his number one choice, and seeing it again made me wistfully recall far too many hours spent at that particular bank. Wowcrendor's latest Pointless Top 10 highlights the shocking (lack of) diversity in World of Warcraft's fishing pools. Frankly, there isn't much to say -- Crendor's trademark brand of humor does all of the heavy lifting. Personally, in just waiting for the day we can post Top 10 Pointless Top 10 Lists. This is number seven from Crendor, so only three more to go. Don't let me down, man.

It's been a while since we've heard from Wowcrendor, but the master of the medium is back with Beta Bob. Whether you're looking for the technology to decide whether a beta activity is actually productive, or a handy reminder that you should submit the bugs that you find, Beta Bob will keep you mindful of the true purpose of beta testing. You can always rely on Wowcrendor for some truthful WoW examination. Beta testing can be a complex activity for the developers, and it's not really meant to be a preview. If nothing else, maybe we can get a Beta Bob to defend design decisions. Except for that ice lance thing. That's not their fault. Interested in the wide world of machinima? • WoW Moviewatch: Pointless Top 10: Coolest Frostfire Ridge Mobs

Wowcrendor's Pointless Top 10 lists are usually really, really pointless... but since it's right there in the name, you know what you're getting into when you click. But that said, we always wind up laughing at even the most pointless of pointlessness, so we keep watching them. Today's Pointless Top 10 is actually less pointless than usual, since it takes you to the Warlords of Draenor alpha to find the coolest mobs on Frostfire Ridge. We hate to break it to you, Wowcrendor, but #10 is on fire and therefore it can hardly be considered cool... but other than that we take no objection to these coolness rankings. So why not take a tour of Frostfire's most interesting and/or pointless inhabitants? Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! • WoW Moviewatch: Pointless Top 10: Useless Npcs

Wowcrendor is back with another top 10 list. In Pointless Top 10: Useless NPCs in World of Warcraft, he's counting down all those NPCs scattered around Azeroth that lack any discernible purpose, randomly roam in the middle of nowhere, stare at a wall, or are quite simply no longer useful. I really like this current series Wowcrendor has going, not just because it's funny, as is pretty much everything he puts out, but because it often reminds me of those odd little things here and there that I'd forgotten about. Like poor Sognar Cliffbeard, the meat vendor. But I have to say, I'm pretty sure that Topper McNabb has a mansion somewhere in the outreaches of the kingdom, purchased with all the coins people have thrown at him over the last 10 years in an effort to get him to shut up. He's the quiet master of the art of panhandling, I bet you. And if, in another 10 years, Azeroth is suddenly obliterated, he'll be laughing at us all from the depths of his terribly comfortable and lavishly furnished panic room, created especially for the purpose of survival. Yeah, don't think I'm not on to you, McNabb. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? • WoW Moviewatch: If Fans Created Filler Content

    05.28.2014

Honestly, this particular machinima (If Fans Create Filler Content by Wowcrendor)... honestly, some of the ideas don't sound that bad to me. I mean, random world cities with worldwide treasure hunts? How is that a bad idea? Tell me you wouldn't go on a worldwide treasure hunt. And while I don't think zombie dragons are particularly interesting, just imagine if they took that basic idea and broadened it out so that you could fight on any mount you have. That's right, I'm suggesting a PvP battle league where you fight on your mounts, collect more mounts to use in the league, and yes it's battle pets, but with mounts and with you on the mount. Seriously how is this a bad idea? Heck, the Farmer John's farm bit sounds good as long as you don't actually burn it down with a zombie dragon at the end. That dude needs help. Much like dogs, WoW characters are perfectly capable of looking up. And what you see when you look up in WoW might just blow your mind. Or, just as likely, you'll wonder why you're watching a video about the top 10 ceilings in Azeroth. That's kind of the point of Pointless Top 10: Best Ceilings in World of Warcraft. This video was originally going to be titled, "Wowcrendor looked up and you won't believe what happened next," but he passed on it because he doesn't work for a blog with buzz, viral, or worthy in the title. The master of game-based sardonic humor returns with Being a Noob vs. Being a Pro. Plenty of differences highlight the essential natures of new player and pro player, and Wowcrendor casts a critical eye on both. The most painful moments probably have to do with playing a Night Elf Hunter. I'll admit; I was that guy. I played that character for years, and I still look back on it with bemused shame. Don't get me wrong. Things are far better balanced now. But a decade ago, the nelf hunter seemed like the obvious choice for any newb coming or going. Well played, Mr. Crendor.
