Guildwatch: Incriminating evidence

Here at Guildwatch, we talk a lot about drama, but we don't really talk enough about how to prevent drama from happening in the first place. So consider this a great tip: if you're ever in trouble with a guild officer, just make sure you have an embarrassing photo of them dancing naked in Stormwind. You know, like the one above. A little blackmail in all the right places will make sure you're always on the officers' good sides.

That's just one of the many things you can learn from this week's GW, which starts right after the jump. Be sure to send your tips on drama, downed, and recruiting to wowguildwatch@gmail.com.

DRAMA

  • Having trouble surviving Vashj? Nemuri on EU Draenor was too, until some talented souls on their forums posted a song. A sample of the lyrics: "I'm just a guy trying to raid SSC/ but these noobs keep bothering me/ "Paladin powah" is crap and doesn't work/ But I miss a salvation, now I look like a jerk?" Fifty DKP bonus for the Dives reference.

  • Guildleader Puss disbanded Velites on Daggerspine without word one, and his fellow guildies weren't too happy about it. The reason? He wanted to depart for a BT guild on another server, but didn't think anyone else could lead the guild, so /gdisband, leaving them all out in the cold. Karma's gonna get you though: our tipster says Puss tried to transfer to a guild on Boulderfist (he's Rensel there, we're told, and the guild is rumored to be LRGuild), and apparently someone in that guild knew someone from Velites in real life, so Puss' invitation was actually denied. "Now," says our tipster, "he can hardly get a Hogger-strength guild... let alone an Illidan one... What goes around, most certainly eventually comes around."

  • Darkfire Empire on Norgannon-A is apparently slowing down its 25man raids-- officer infighting and defections have apparently led them to a rumored death spiral. We hear other guilds are licking their chops aiming to pick up the leftovers.

  • More fun from Norgannon: Is Haven paying Ascension to learn Kael? Our tipster has the inside track and says no money changed hands-- Haven cleared to Kael and Ascension wanted to attune some more people, so Haven offered up their raid ID, and sent three guys along for the kill just to see what it was like. But apparently Haven is getting crap for this because a few of their officers transferred over. I have to agree that the Haven GM doesn't help thing (anyone who actually says "diaf" on the forums is asking for trouble), but there's not really a story here-- just one nice guild helping another. Then again, people on the server don't like Haven very much at all.

  • Always fun when a recruitment thread goes south and old wounds reopen. Our tipster (who is probably not biased at all-- wink) says everything Pugmaster says is true, which means that Conquest of Alleria is probably in trouble.

  • Pheonix Fury on Blackhand-H apparently tossed one of their officers, Eiryz, out in a smackdown on raid attendance, even though that officer (we're told) had not only fulfilled the 75% requirement (she had 17 out of 20 hours), but had posted good reasons on the forums why it hadn't been higher (a computer crash had kept her away). Our tipster alleges that the request to leave wasn't due to actual policy, but instead a vendetta lead from within the guild by officers Lalji and Bigvett. Apparently other members haven't been too happy either, and skipped town. My suggestion? If you've got better things to do, find a guild without such a strict raiding attendance policy. Better for them and you.

  • A story of raid drama woe from Gitr.

  • Shafted on Baelgun is apparently on its last legs-- they've got, we're told, a "drunken officer" (not sure if that's on alcohol or power... or both) that is making a lot of guildies look around for somewhere else to join up with.

  • How not to apply to a guild from Respect on EU Silvermoon. My favorite part: "By applying, I only become a member. That is not what I want to become." "You feel me?" is also great. "Have you read our guild rules?" "No I haven't but.." Epic, as they say, fail.

DOWNED

  • Surf and Turf, an alliance on Kirin Tor-A consisting of Piscus Inferno, Storm Wolves, and Praesidium, downed Netherspite without a wipe, even some unneeded Nether Exhaustions, to get their first kill. Their eyes are now set on using a pile of flaming dragon bones for their campfires.

  • Legion V on EU Ravenholdt took down Vashj. Kael is on notice.

  • Reckless Abandon on Thunderlord is a super casual guild who finally decided to step into Karazhan, and were able to drop Attument, Moroes, and the Maiden. They say Curator is next in their sights (and boy are they going to be surprised when they find the Opera).

  • The Departed on Kul'Tiras finished off Illidan for a server first. Grats to Fuzionnomad for the offhand Warglaive.

  • Ex Cinis Cineris on Farstriders-A has rocked Medivh's house (that's Karazhan), and cleared all the way up to Curator. Nice job!

  • Vantage on Nagrand has been rolling through Black Temple (and they were in there before the attunements lifted). They're up to Akama, and knock, knock, knockin' on Gorefiend's door.

  • In their first ever raiding week (with some first time ever raiders) Divide et Impera on EU Norgannon downed Attumen, Moroes, the Maiden of Anguish, the Big Bad Wolf, the Curator and the Shade of Aran. Grats to them-- Prince is on notice.

  • Nazgul, on EU Frostmane-H downed Prince and Nightbane on their first tries on each. Grats!

  • Our friends in Gnome Ravagers on Terenas-H finished off Akil'zon and Nalorakk in Zul'Aman. Nice job.

  • Relic on Area 52-A isn't a guild of many words, but they say they have "cleared Kara and we're on our way to ZA." Sounds like a plan.

  • Ambiguous on Khaz Modan has downed Hydross, Lurker, Tidewalker, Fathom Lord, and Leo all in 2 weeks time. Very nice job.

  • Rolling With My Gnomies (who I believe is on Suramar-A) has dropped Void Reaver like a sack of wet potatoes! Magtheridon is still on notice.

  • Sol Invictus on Thrall has cleared out Al'ar and is looking to sadly replace a prot pally. They miss you, Halten.

  • Southern Wardens on Proudmoore downed the Loot Below. Grats! Then later in the week they finished off Mag, too.

  • Indecisive on Icecrown-A downed Leotheras, and good thing too, because he was getting to be trouble.

  • Resurrected of Mok'Nathal-A killed kael right before Christmas break, and are now back in the mix, having reached 4/5 in Hyjal so far.

  • Brothers of Doom on EU Azjol-Nerub finished off Prince and Nightbane, both on their first try.

  • Bad Karma on Gurubashi got some good karma this week-- they dropped Leo, Karathress, and Tidewalker all in one night. Grats!

  • Premonition on Windrunner has cleared SSC, and has Kael on close notice. They expect to be in BT by the end of the month. Very nice.

  • Virtus on Rivendare is profiting off of being on a low-pop server-- they've just downed Loot Reaver, and are working on Al'ar, which puts them at number two in Alliance progression. Groovy.

  • Final Boss on Dark Iron just recently toppled both Al'ar and Loot Reaver, one shot each.

  • The Silver Horde on EU Earthen Ring-A cleared Karazhan for the first time, one-shotting every boss on the way on our fifth week raiding. That's a lot of loot!

  • The September Movement on Arathor-H one-shotted Curator on their first night visiting his Menagerie. Aran and Illhoof are goin' down soon!

  • In the Wake on Zul'jin-A, after slightly more than 2 nights taking on Hydross, have downed the giant elemental. With the previous Lurker drop, ITW is working on Solarian, Alar and Mag and plans to drop those soon.

  • Damage Overtime on Runetotem-H (made up of friends in RL) finished Omen off in honor of their 1 year guild anniversary (revenge is a dish best served cold). Then marched through Attumen, Madien, and Moroes; wipeless in their first Kara run ever (with a little help from some ex-guildies).

  • Alpha from Turalyon is rolling through SSC-- they're up to Fathomlord. And they've apparently got a podcast. Good luck with that.

  • Silent Death of Thaurissan downed Hydross (on their second SSC run ever!) then proceeded to get Lurker to 30%. That, I believe, puts him on official notice.

  • Elder Brethren on EU Aszune did their first guild-only Kara run, and cleared up to Oz. Grats!

  • Ævolution on Blackhand killed The Loot Below, and put Tidewalker on notice.

  • Unbound on Norgannon-H got to 3/4 and 5/6 this week after a mad tear that took down FathomLord, Al'ar, and Leo. Nice job.

  • Ascensio beat the game-- they downed Illidan for an Alliance side second on Malfurion.

  • After only 3.5 nights of attempts (don't ask me how you get a .5 night), Serious Business of Gnomeregan has downed Lady Vashj. And it was probably the heartfelt pep talk by fearless GL Kalhad that did it.

  • Totally Raids Inc., a non-guilded, all in-character raid on Feathermoon, has now successfully one-shot every boss in Serpentshrine Cavern. Except for Vashj, apparently-- she's on notice.

  • DONT on Cho'gall-A dropped HKM, and also completed a merge with Dark Knight Alliance. Yup, that's them in the incriminating pic above.

  • The Noble Europeans on Agamaggan-H dropped Shade, Supremus, and Najentus in Hyjal. Grats!

  • Broken Fang on EU Frostwhisper-A continued their progress with both Hydross and Loot Reaver, as well as Jan'alai in ZA.

  • Victorious Secret on Eitrigg (winner of this week's Best Guild Name award, especially since they say they originally came up with this name on Argent Dawn) has downed Gruul and had a great time doing it.

  • Wreckage on Skywall-H reports that Leotheras the Blind has been assassinated and fed to the fishes. They're now 5/6 SSC and 3/4 TK. Vashj and Kael'thas are next!

RECRUITING

  • In the last three weeks, Guardians of the Night (server?) have killed Morogrim, Solarian, Leotheras, Hydross, Karathress and Al'ar. They're now headed to Hyjal and BT before 2.4 comes out, and they're looking for druids, prot or ret pallies, and a warlock for endgame raiding.

  • There's a fun group of people leveling their way to 70 on Sentinels-A looking for folk to level up with and start raiding, specifically healers. Also, they have Mojo, and a pony keg. Is this madness? No, it's Sparta!

  • Nemesis of Rexxar is recruiting. They are clearing Kara, working on ZA and looking for more players so they can do 25 mans.

  • Singularities on EU Dentarg is currently recruiting all healer classes. You should be attuned to Vashj and Kael for the Hyjal attunement, but considering all those attunements are soon to be lifted, go apply anyway.

  • The Wasted Warriors on Magtheridon-H is recruiting all classes for SSC and TK.

  • Shadows of Chaos on Chromaggus-H is considered a casual guild, but they do clear Kara on a regular basis. They always focus on having fun (as anyone on vent can tell you) and pride themselves in being "drama free." I always flinch when a guild calls themselves "drama free"-- sounds like a challenge to me. But don't cause drama with these guys-- they are looking for more members so they can start doing 25mans.

  • Lucky on Baelgun is recruiting all classes. They are a casual raiding guild, with Kara cleared, up to 3rd boss in ZA and running Gruul's. Looking to move on to more 25-man content. Apply at their website.

  • The Increment EU Darkspear-A are looking for friendly, Karazhan-attuned players with decent gear to progress further in the Eye, Serpentshrine Cavern and Magtheridon's Lair.

  • Escapism on Zangarmarsh-A (which is a great guild, and used to claim me as a member, which reminds me-- is anyone recruiting for a level 61, soon to be 70 hunter on Cenarius-A?) is recruiting mature players to fill out their 25 man raid roster. If you are looking for a relaxed, fun, yet mature guild with knowledgeable, well geared raiders then look no further!

  • Vigilance on Proudmoore-A is farming Karazhan and has completed 6/6 in Zul'Aman. They're looking for more raiders to begin 25 man progression. All classes except warriors needed. Three raids per week Friday - Sunday ~6:00 PM PST.

  • Novo Vita is a reroll Horde guild on Kilrogg-- join up with them if you're a reroller looking to get some serious leveling and raiding in.

  • Immortal Dawn of EU Khadgar-A downed Grull with a 24 man party and Nalorakk with the usual Karazhan clears. They are currently recruiting Druids (Boomkin, Healing), Shaman healers, and Holy Priests.

We haven't quite caught up on the backlog of tips (so if you sent something in the past day or so, it'll be in next week's edition), but we're getting there. Thanks to everyone who sent in their tips this week, and a special thanks to everyone who formatted them as closely as possible to what you see above-- definitely helps me get this thing together on time.

Until next week, send your tips to wowguildwatch@gmail.com, and as always, happy raiding!
