Not sure if you got the memo, but Intel introduced a
few new processors this week at IDF. In fact, they were chips designed to work in
laptops! While
Dell and
Alienware were quick to issue new rigs based around the mobile iteration of the Core i7, a few others are slowly trickling out. ASUS has just introduced its M60J, a 16-incher that can be outfitted with a 1.6GHz Core i7 720QM or 1.73GHz Core i7 820QM. Other specs include a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT240M GPU, up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, upwards of 1TB of HDD space, an optional Blu-ray drive and a lackluster 1,366 x 768 resolution. Sager's also jumping in on the action by pushing out a 15.6-inch NP8690 that offers the same shiny CPUs, a 1GB GeForce GTX 280M GPU, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, a 500GB HDD and a 1080p display. As for pricing? Mum's the word on the former, though the 7.6-pound Sager gets going at just under $1,800.

We will see those on the next macbook pro refresh right?
man if the core i7 come to the mac i might just get one
but I doubt it because they are a bit nit picky abut this sort of stuff
till then all I want is my AMD/ATI based laptop to hold me over
OMFG, unrelated
let's see if we can get your post invisible, I sure as hell am gonna try.
wth? some fanboys are annoying.
Is it a miracle to get the core i7 on macs? if they will refresh it again with Core 2 Duo again then they can keep it and I'll get one of these bad boys
Probably. Macs tend to be just behind everyone else in term of innards.
And we should care about macbooks because ...?
It sure didn't take long for the apple fanboys to offer up there opinions.
I'm with you Chans.
why do the sager one have to look so freaking ugly......i'm in the market for a new laptop, but i can't swallow a design like that of the sager.....
If looks are a factor for you, try the HP Envy 15.It looks like a macbook pro but has an i7 and an ATI 4830 HD gpu.If you cant compromise on graphics, the ugly alienware and sager laptops are your only options as of now with i7 cpus.
It won't take long for the i7s to get into every new model, just wait for a month or so and pick one that you actually like.
That's just Sager for ya. Raw, pragmatic power.
I wonder how much that power sucks up battery life, though. Don't see a good enough excuse in having 4 cores on a laptop just yet.
The Envy 15 is seriously outclassed by this Sager from what I can see. They're virtually the same machine inside, only you get a 280m which will run circles around the 4830.
you can also get the old m15x from Alienware's refurb store, not as fast as the Sager or new m15x, but its cheaper, good looking, and more portable
Want. Everyone loves my 16-incher.
That's what she said.
it's a new product, very higher deploy! http://www.harddiskdriverepair.com
Core i7, Windows 7.
It's just coming up sevens!

No you are a 45 year old balding bloke from basingstoke.
If you want something that looks good and priced well. Look at the Dell XPS 16. I just orderd a XPS 16 with an i7 chip, 4GB DDR3 Ram, 500GB 7200rpm drive, blu ray burner, ati 4650 1GB graphics card, 16inch RGB LED display for 1474.
