The Queue: Tachiraptor Admirablis, Proving Grounds, Consumables

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Matthew Rossi will be your host today.

Yes, they've discovered a new dinosaur in Venezuela, and yes, I'm writing about it in The Queue. Really, you only have yourselves to blame. Despite its name, Tachiraptor Admirablis isn't a member of the dromaeosauridae, but is rather a much older Jurassic era dinosaur. We know it's most likely a theropod, and that it lived over 200 million years ago, putting it near the beginning of the Jurassic and just after the Triassic extinction event. It's a very exciting find.

And now to the Queue. What questions may we answer today? As Tachiraptor might say, skreeeeee.

Armenius asks:
Q4TQ: Is the silver Proving Grounds requirement for queuing for randoms retroactive or do we have to get it again at level 100?

You will have to achieve silver in Proving Grounds at level 100 to queue for heroics at level 100.

SteveJ asks:
Will the current flasks and food buffs be scaled down after 6.0? I'm hoping they won't be useless after next week.

They scale down, but they're not useless, because everything is scaled down. They offer roughly the same percentage of stats as they do right now.

Zapwidget asks:
If you boost a character after the patch but before launch, do you get the starter gear? Or will you have to run around panda palace for a few hours and spend a bit of gold getting gear?

You will get the same gear you get now when you boost before the launch of Warlords of Draenor.

Morte asks:
Q4TQ: With 6.0.2 going live next week, what happens to gear that is not fully upgraded when they remove Valor points? Does it stay at the level that it is at the time of the patch or will it be at the highest/lowest iLevel for that piece of gear?

Your upgrades will remain exactly as they are, and you will be able to continue upgrading gear for Lesser Charms.

iDogtag says:
Q4tQ: At the end of Cataclysm, Thrall stepped in as Aspect of Earth. Which lore characters do you think would be suitable substitutes for the other Aspects?

My first thought was Jaina as Aspect of Magic, but I quickly got stuck after that.

No, he didn't. He filled the hole left by the Aspect of Earth, in no small part due to Deathwing's own hubris in directly attacking Thrall through the element of Earth, but at no time was Thrall the Aspect of Earth. It's important to realize this. Thrall was never the Earth-Warder. Deathwing died Aspect of Earth, despite whatever insane titles he may have given himself, and Thrall never replaced him.

That being said, I'll play along. I think if we were to get mortals in the roles of the Aspects, then Thrall works for Earth and certainly Jaina's a contender for Magic, but I'd like to see Khadgar as Aspect of Time (he's been artificially aged, after all), Tyrande as the Aspect of the Emerald Dream (mainly to spite Malfurion), and Anduin Wrynn for the Aspect of Life. But frankly, I'm glad we don't have Aspects anymore.

That's The Queue from me this week. See y'all next week.
