The Queue: Things to do

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) is answering all kinds of questions today.

Patch 6.0 brought several new things to do, but I've been finding myself revisiting old dungeons more than anything, these past couple of weeks. In particular, both mounts in ZG have eluded me for far too long, and I'm hunkering down to do some serious farming and add them to my collection. With the new troll models, it's like ZG has gotten an update all on its own. Kinda cool, really!

cgilm2526 asked:

So I was doing the dailies at the Argent Tournament on my horde toon. I went to buy the Sen'Jin village banner since its a toy. When I learned the banner, I also learned the Ironforge Banner. Is this a bug or is Blizzard making it easy to get two banners for the price of one?

I don't believe it's a bug. The way all the items worked at the Argent Tournament was that if you obtained an item -- say a Silvermoon banner -- and then at some point in the distant future decided to race-change to Alliance, that Silvermoon banner would automatically change into an Exodar banner. The same applies of course to mounts, but it also applied to the armor models and tier obtained from ToC as well. I have to admit, having just finished farming for those banners myself, it's nice that I only have to do them on one faction, instead of both.

Puntable1 asked:

For leveling in Draenor... Lumber Mill or Barn?

Lumber Mill to start off with. It'll generate Garrison Resources for you, so you can build more buildings, do more upgrading, and get on the fast track to getting your garrison set. You can always put the Barn in later -- there's no penalty for replacing buildings, it'll just cost you Garrison Resources and gold.

ddnkxtn asked:

Q4tQ: This may have been asked before but will Magni Bronzebeard ever come back from his cursed state? I miss him ):

Good question! He isn't dead, exactly, he's become one with the mountain -- whatever that means. In the short story Charge of the Aspects, there's plenty of implication that Magni's still there, he's just ... changed, in a pretty significant way. We might see him come back again, we might not. It would definitely be interesting if he woke up and saw what his daughter has been up to in his absence, that's for sure.

jpec07 asked:

What do you think are the chances of us seeing some aesthetic character items? Like, things that can scar out one of your eyes, that can give you spectacles or sunglasses, things that our characters could carry, etc?

I'd cautiously say better than average. The new character models, transmogrification, even the Barber Shop have all shown one really irrefutable fact about people that play this game: We love being able to customize how our characters look. We're totally obsessed with changing it up. Even with the updates we've been given so far -- and we've been given a lot of updates -- people are still asking for more. We can't get enough of it. If they're smart, they'll continue to roll out more customization stuff as time goes on.

jpec07 also asked:

And another question: why can't Shaman get a minor glyph to make our elementals Pandaren in style?

That is another really excellent question/suggestion and I'm thinking that would be an excellent minor glyph to add to the game. Hopefully someone is paying attention to that one!

itsdeeps asked:

I don't get why people seem so reluctant to let go of gear lately... in WoD a lot of people will be holding on to their gear for a LOT longer than in previous xpacs and I've seen a lot of talk of wishing legendaries would be somewhat viable forever... I just think this is so strange because WoW has always been a gear mill and besides "it took me a long time to get it" I'm wondering why it is that this attitude has popped up recently... anyone have a good answer?

There's always a certain sense of regret when you have to finally bank an item you've really grown to like. With legendaries, even more so. I think what I hate with legendaries is that once they are obsolete, they are obsolete -- you can't use them for transmogrification, so the only thing you can do, really, is put them in the bank if you want to save them. I sort of wish they had more use outside of that, particularly because they are so hard to get.

erondize asked:

Sort of a weird question, but I was watching a recent episode of Wowcrendor's Frozen Throne playthrough and it struck me "if Vol'jin can turn people into wyverns, why is the troll druid flight form a bat?" I know Vol'jin is a shadow hunter, but it still makes more sense, at least to me, for trolls to be connected to wyverns. Thoughts?

That actually has less to do with Vol'jin, and more to do with the druids and the loa! The Darkspear were once part of the Gurubashi, cast out -- but they still worship the Gurubashi loa. Shirvallah the tiger, Shadra the spider, and Hir'eek the bat are all known as being worshipped by the Darkspear. Because the druids of the Darkspear are tied to the loa, it's natural that they would assume the forms of the loa as a result -- which is why troll cats are tigers, and their flight forms are bats. A Darkspear would never, ever choose to be a bird -- there's a quest in Zangarmarsh that briefly mentions "No self-respecting Darkspear troll engages in bird worship."
