ET may go down as one of the worst games ever made. If it's not at the top of every worst-of list, it's usually in the top three. It wasn't considered a bad game because of the era it was released, it was just a downright bad game. Critics slammed it for it's controls and called it a repetitive game. What is the best NES / Famicom clone system available?
details
I've got a whole box of great NES games I'd love to replay, but my brother has the NES and even if I did have it, the hardware is over 20 years old and tends to be rather finicky. There's a decent market in NES clones out there, so I'm wondering if it might be better to try one of them out. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which might be the best, taking into consideration cost and compatibility? Some possibilities: http://gdgt.com/yobo/fc/game-console/... Read more →

How did you lose your NES?
details
Seems like we all had these classic game systems, but for one reason or another we don't have them anymore. What happened to yours? I used to have one, well it was my brother's. One day he decided that he wanted to be a hockey player and decided to trade our precious NES and our huge game collection for a bunch of used hockey equipment. Did he ever play hockey after that? No. I hate him.

How I got a Super Nintendo
details
My father bought an NES when I was a child. He claimed to have bought it for myself and my two siblings, but I suspect he just used that as an excuse to get in on some Duck Hunt action. We used to play it all the time until lightning struck our chimney and fried the system (along with many other electronics, and the chimney). A few weeks later, we got a SNES. Donkey Kong Country was the first game I ever bought with my own money, and it was the game that really got me into gaming.
