Swedish indies are featured in this week's "midweek madness" sale on Steam. The ten games, regularly priced between $5 and $10 (with Puzzle Dimension the exception at $3), will be available as a bundle until Thursday for $15.The pack includes Blueberry Garden, winner of best game at the 2009 Independent Games Festival. There's also action platformer Noitu Love 2: Devolution, puzzler Lucidity and RTS Harvest: Massive Encounter. We're beginning to notice a trend with the midweek madness deals: a couple weeks ago there was a UK indie bundle.

Writing in a recent Workshop blog post, LucasArts responded to complaints that its XBLA and PC puzzle-platformer, Lucidity, can be "particularly punishing." A new update, which adds checkpoints in an effort , has been launched on PC and is set to via an update set to arrive on Xbox Live within the coming weeks. "We feel that there is so much great content in Lucidity that we want to open it up and make it more accessible for people to experience." Listen, LucasArts, we respect what you're doing here, we do. But please, for all our sakes, be careful. Listening to the internet is a slippery slope, one that ends in everyone hurling dung and racial epithets at each other. And if you don't agree with that, you're a Nazi.

  • Xbox Live Top 10: Lucidity's success is unclear

While our Live Top 10 posts are usually reserved for the endless slap fight between the Halo and Call of Duty franchises -- Halo 3 remains on top, if you must know -- our attention was drawn directly to Xbox Live Arcade this week. Major Nelson reports that South Park: Let's Go Tower Defense Play rests at the top of the most purchased XBLA games for the week, while Lucidity -- which debuted the same week to mixed reviews -- failed to make the top ten at all. It's not a direct measurement of the title's early success, but it certainly doesn't bode well for LucasArts' original puzzle platformer. Based on the apparent success of South Park we have a suggestion for Lucidity 2: More cursing.

Two pleasantly surprising games on Xbox Live Arcade this week. First, there's South Park: Let's Go Tower Defense Play!, which is a tower defense game based on South Park, of all things. Then there's Lucidity, an original puzzle platform game from LucasArts. After taking a quick jaunt through the trial versions of both games, we're pleased to say that both of them are quite enjoyable. See what you're in for in the latest XBLA in Brief, and then decide if either game deserves your 800 ($10). Major Nelson has announced that the two games gracing Xbox Live Arcade this week will be Lucidity and South Park LET'S GO TOWER DEFENSE PLAY. The first is a puzzle platformer from LucasArts with a positively delightful art style, while the second ... well it's pretty self explanatory. It's a tower defense game set against the backdrop of the famous, quiet little mountain town. Both can be yours in exchange for 800 ($10).

  • Lucidity clearly priced at $10

LucasArts' dreamy platformer, Lucidity, has received an official price of $10 (800 in Microsoft's fantasy currency world). While the team behind the title jested with selling a single $3,000,000 copy and calling it a day, they thankfully opted to include all of us at a more reasonable price. And if 300,000 of us get lured in by the side-scrolling adventure, it'll work out about the same!Look for Lucidity on October 7th on PC and Xbox Live Arcade.

LucasArts' new Lemmings-inspired puzzle platformer, Lucidity, will walk onto Xbox Live Arcade and PC -- avoiding the trap of brick and mortar shops -- on October 7. Many of the game's developers are responsible for the The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, which updated the adventure classic for a new audience. For those who missed the announcement of Lucidity last week, be sure to check out the first footage of protagonist Sofi's march through the game's beautiful dreamscapes. %Gallery-72576%

  • LucasArts officially reveals Lucidity, hitting XBLA this month

As promised, LucasArts showed off its new game, Lucidity, on GameTrailers TV last night. As you can see in the video above, it's sort of a puzzley platformer that has you manipulating objects in the environment in order to help Sophie (who's moving of her own free will, Lemmings-style) get from one side of the screen to the other. We're intrigued by the gameplay, but totally in love with the art style and calming soundtrack. Luckily, we don't have long to wait to hear it in full, as the game's apparently coming to XBLA later this month. A date for the PC version is still unannounced, and there's no word of an appearance on PSN. [Update: LucasArts sent over a much nicer video, showing some more gameplay, as well as a charming introduction, which you can see right up top!] %Gallery-72576%

  • New LucasArts game to debut on Spike this week

    09.09.2009

This Thursday night (or Friday morning, if you prefer) at 12:30 AM EST, Spike TV's GameTrailers TV will reveal a brand new LucasArts game, according to host Geoff Keighley. Since he announced it in a 140 character-constrained tweet, and since he wants you to watch the show, there was little room for details beyond it being "original." We're just going to guess that the new game is Lucidity, the rumored XBLA adventure game that has yet to be officially announced. Of course, a safer bet would be "another Star Wars game." We'll all find out Thursday night, we suppose. [Via Big Download]

Pure de Garbanzos, a Spanish-language blogger, has posted what is claimed to be the first screenshot from LucasArts still-unconfirmed XBLA puzzle-adventure game Lucidity, about which we posted the first info. It seems to mesh with what we know about the title ... in that it pictures a little girl and her grandmother. Presumably this would be from a non-playable cutscene, unless there's some kind of new "reading in bed" mechanic. If LucasArts has to make games that aren't re-releases or sequels to old adventure games, we hope that they would be beautiful like this. We're contacting LucasArts to determine the veracity of the image, and, for that matter, of the game.[Via GamerBytes]

  • Rumor: LucasArts bringing Lucidity to XBLA

An inside source close to Joystiq has informed us LucasArts is bringing a brand new game (imagine that!) to XBLA, coinciding with the company's focus on downloadable releases as of late. Dubbed Lucidity, this title is described as a kind of side-scrolling adventure ... with a twist. Instead of controlling the main character, Sofi, in the traditional manner, players instead place certain objects in her path as she independently navigates the gameworld. As she runs into these objects, she will use them to tackle whatever obstacle is in her way.The game will definitely have a fantasy element to it, as it supposedly takes place inside of Sofi's head while she's looking for her grandmother. Let's just hope there's no big bad wolf waiting at grandma's to gobble her up, though.Stay tuned for further developments -- or please hit up our tips line if you've got additional details.

  • LucasFilm trademarks 'Lucidity' game software

LucasFilm, parent company of LucasArts, is working on a new video game, so says a filing at the government-owned TARR (Trademark and Registration Retrieval) website. The title is called Lucidity and it's classified as "video game software with manuals sold as a unit," which sounds like your average retail, disc-based game. Digital distribution or DLC seems to be a possibility, as it's also classified as a "downloadable" title. That's about all the concrete information we've obtained from this filing thus far.If there's anything else that would reveal more about the game, its title would be a good start. Let's see, what does "lucidity" mean? According to Merriam-Webster, it is "a presumed capacity to perceive the truth directly and instantaneously." Ah, we see. That tells us ... absolutely nothing. Quite ironic, too. What do you think is being worked on here?[Via Superannutation]
