Oh, the picture is of my dog. Well, my family's dog. I felt it would draw more people in, instead of tossing up some Red Kawa logo. He's wearing a red scarf, so it's at least remotely relevant! A little over a week ago, Red Kawa unleashed upon the world a torrent of video conversion madness and we covered what was updated from the prior version. Now Red Kawa has put out another update, bring their PS3 Video 9 to version 2.15. If you've been keeping up, here's what's been changed: Fixed: Decimal in MP4Box Framerate Updated: FFmpeg rev8435 Fixed: Audio Bitrate Units Okay then! The bad thing is that this isn't exactly a patch to the earlier version 2.0 -- you've got to download the installer and everything, rewriting your old version whilst keeping those precious settings you've undoubtedly tweaked. Enjoy!

Full resolution PSP videos problematic? Not anymore! Red Kawa has quickly updated their PSP Video 9 software to support 480x272 resolution video for PSP. It was put together so quickly that not everything has been checked. With only two profiles to choose from, don't expect a full-fledged program. However, it's great to see that independent developers are already working hard to serve the needs of avid PSP fans.Download the beta at Red Kawa.[Via IGN]

If you're like me and can't always rearrange your life schedule around watching the newest episode of Heroes, Lost, or Scrubs (practically the only shows I "watch" semi-religiously), you've probably done a little bit of torrent downloading. Not familiar with it? No worries. Just know what when you download your little movie files, they're generally in that pesky .avi format -- Windows! The PS3 hates .avi, so it won't play those. Enter Red Kawa's Video 9 for the PS3 -- a software tool that converts your files to whatever the PS3 will play (a few options for MPEG-4 and MPEG-2). It was decent, used it a few times... well, Red Kawa has unleashed upon us a patch to the software. Here's the detailed list. Fixed: Short Duration Times in PS3 Profiles Added: QuickTime HD Input Profile Added: Sort profile names in combo boxes Fixed: Creating PS3 Video Ouput Directories Word up. Apparently, these fixes and additions will produce a lossless transfer that can convert the file 100 times faster than normal conversion methods. If you want to learn more about Video 9 and the update, check out the Red Kawa site. I've got to go now... I'm installing the patch.

Red Kawa has come up with a pretty sweet idea. They decided to turn the Wii into a media center, allowing those with the guts and gumption to attempt installing Wii Media Center X the satisfaction of streaming music, videos and images to their Wii. They offer a tutorial section for some of you that need your hand held, as well.We haven't given the program a spin, but by the looks of it, it's all a fairly simple process. Has anyone out there taken a stab at using Wii Media Center X? Happy with it, or do you find yourself disappointed?[Via Codename Revolution]

Wow! These guys just crank out the downloads. If it's not one thing, they're releasing another. Now we've got a third download for our PS3's, in regards to file streaming between the PC and the PS3. It's kind of an update to the previous file sharing program, but not. They call it the successor to the previous program. So get rid of the "File Server" program and download this one! What should be noted, however, is that the new program is a streaming process for the web browser and streaming cannot be done directly onto our lovely XMB. We've still got to go the "old-fashioned" way with our memory sticks and whatnot to move stuff there. That's really about it for that. There's a few releases for the Wii as well, but that's not the console we're concerned about at this site. You can surely check them out if you'd like (if you've got a Wii or if you're just curious) because they do sound worth your time. Good stuff, Red Kawa! And guys, seriously, if you enjoy the stuff these guys dish out, consider donating to their cause!

You may or may not recall the piece we did a week or two ago about the video conversion software brought to you by Red Kawa for your PS3. If you remember, thanks! If not, read the link and download the software -- it can only be helpful, right? I wonder if anyone's reading this site via the PS3 browser. That would be cool. Anyway. Some people have been expressing trouble in moving stuff from their PC to their PS3. Moving cards back and forth, transferring data at a pretty tedious pace... worry not of these things! Red Kawa has upped more free software, this time it's a File Server program. What's it do? It lets your PS3 talk to your PC, basically. You can view and copy files from your PC onto your PS3 -- via the PS3. Can any other console do that? Not yet. This is really cool and if I had a PS3 I would definitely rock out with this piece of software in conjunction with the video converter. Go download it, gentlemen and ladies and let us know how it truly operates!

Red Kawa has released a pair of freeware video converters to transcode your video files for use on PlayStation 3 and Wii. Both PS3 Video 9 and Wii Video 9 are based on PSP Video 9's GUI, with a number of key improvements. These applications can also be integrated with Videora to automatically create PS3- and Wii-compatible content from BitTorrent and RSS feeds. As with Xbox 360, getting your PC's video files to run on PS3 and Wii is gonna be tedious -- so get started now. At least the good folks at Red Kawa are making the process free. (Of course, donations are always welcome.)[Thanks, John]

A new store has appeared on this strange set of tubes called the interweb (thank you, old episodes of the Daily Show). This store is called Red Kawa, and they've got a treat for us today. See, we know the PS3 can playback a lot of video formats, but there are some that it has a little bit of trouble accepting. Enter the PS3 Video 9 -- a free video conversion software program that changes your anti-PS3 video formats into beautiful, loving formats the PS3 will love and cherish forever and ever. Take those .wmv and .avi and change them into: MPEG-4 SP H.264/MPEG-4 AVC MPEG-1 MPEG-2 PS MPEG-2 TS This development team was also responsible for the PSP Video 9, so you can be fairly sure you're getting a pretty well-thought out, quality product. For free. Grab your PS3. Download this software. Spread the love. Let Red Kawa know you think they're great for doing this.[thanks to everyone who sent this in!]
