We know that many of you are looking forward to Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk (or, we should say, Dawn of the New World). Those of you who live in Japan won't have to wait long, though. Namco Bandai is releasing the game in two months, placing an April 24th date on the title.Although this news probably doesn't affect most of us directly, it's good to know that the game is in its final stages. Hopefully this means that American localization will soon follow suit. As for Europe and other PAL nations, we're still waiting to hear word that the game will be coming to those regions. We're assuming the "epic" RPG will show up, eventually -- it just might be a long wait.In the meantime, check out our updated gallery below for tons of Symphonia screens.%Gallery-5354%

  • Nintendo Power's big reveal: Tales of Symphonia coming to the U.S.

The newest issue of Nintendo Power reports what Tales of Symphonia fans in the U.S. (and, we're assuming, the rest of North America) have been hoping for. That's right -- the localization of the Wii game is confirmed, and Knights of Ratatosk will be heading to North American shores. Only, it's not going to be called Knights of Ratatosk. The game has a new subtitle, and will be known instead as Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. At least that's easier to spell, albeit a lot more generic than the previous title.Nintendo Power also boasts that the new Tales will be the Wii's first "epic RPG." Is that an insult to games like Opoona and Baroque, or are those games simply not "epic" enough? Whether it's the first or not, though, we're certainly glad that the game will be localized, especially since it seems to be shaping up pretty nicely.Even though this is good news, is anyone disappointed that Nintendo Power's "secret RPG" turned out to be a not-so-secret game?%Gallery-5354%[Via NeoGAF]

Two "Centurion Spirits of Ratatoskr," some kind of spiritual protectors, will join your party in Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatoskr. The first is a grey, sort of feline Pokémon-looking creature called Tenebrae who works with the power of darkness, and is responsible for protagonist Emil's status as a Knight of Ratatosk. The second is a cat-child-thing called Aqua, who is unsurprisingly expert with water-based abilities. Aqua works with party member Richter. We can't quite determine if the attachment between these Centurions and party members means that they'll be relegated to a support role or if they're in the party. We think a big magical cat-monster would be a pretty good asset on the team.

There's been a good amount of Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk media around lately, and fortunately, it just keeps on coming. The latest screens show some battle action, as well as some stills from the Jump Festa trailer. Aside from all that, there's also some nice character art to gawk at (like this picture of Malta to the right), so make sure to take a look after the break.

Not only were we just treated to lovely new screens from Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk, but now we finally get to check out the trailer from Jump Festa. The video is available on Namco Bandai's official site, and also on YouTube (see above, obviously) at slightly lower quality. Choose your viewing pleasure! The good news is that it's a lot less nausea-inducing than the last event trailer we saw from the game.%Gallery-5354%

  • Tales of Symphonia looks pretty again

New screens for Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk have popped up, and they're certainly an improvement over some of the older ones. Also of note is the fact that you can mate your monsters to make even stronger beasts for battle (ala Dragon Quest Monsters). Other than that, there's not much new information on the title. So, how about it, RPG fans? Is this game on your radar? To see some drool-worthy character screens, make sure to battle your way past the break.

This trailer for next year's Tales of Symphonia sequel is looking pretty good, but we'll warn you that it's a little on the shaky side. Yep, just when you thought we were done with TGS, a few last minute items keep popping up, like this little gem. We know a lot of people have mixed feelings about Tales of Symphonia -- some people are just rabid for it, while others found it disappointing -- but how's Knights of Ratatoskr striking you?%Gallery-5354%

  • Tales of Phantasia 2 for DS?

Rumor alert! NamcoBandai is allegedly planning a load of new, and new-ish, games in their Tales series for Nintendo consoles. The rumor gives titles for three new (potential) games, one of which is headed for the DS. If internet rumormongering is to be believed, Namco is working on a 2D sequel to the oft-ported Tales of Phantasia. We can't comment on the veracity of the rumor's specifics, but it seems likely that more Tales games are headed, in abundance, to every platform that Japanese gamers like. Not only has the series already made its dual-screened debut, RPG-spamming has been their modus operandi since before the DS was popular. Now that the most popular console in Japan by far is also the cheapest to develop for (being a handheld), continuing the trend seems like a Tale of the Obvious.

  • Look into the Tempest

Jeux France has some new screens from the upcoming RPG Tales of the Tempest, but there's some interesting criticism hidden in all that French. The included Babelfish link reveals that Famitsu rated the game only average (28/40) and basically indicated that it's only a bare step above "steaming pile of crap" on the funometer, citing clunky, polygon-rich graphics, poor AI, and uninspired gameplay. Well. Anyone need to borrow a pen to scratch this one off their list? We've included a few of the screens after the jump so that you could judge for yourself, at least so far as the graphics go. The look is similar to Final Fantasy III but does appear to be a little more jagged and not quite as polished.Fun fact: Babelfish translated the title to Bruise of the Tempest. That's good for at least one quick el-oh-el moment.

  • Tales of the World screens look radiant

Tales fans in the US just don't get enough love. Tales of Phantasia never left Japanese shores, and Tales of Eternia was fully localized... for Europe only. Hopefully, the upcoming original PSP Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology won't meet the same fate. Like previous Tales of the World games, the game will feature characters from other Tales games, like fan-favorite Tales of Symphonia. The battle system is ripped from Tales of the Abyss, and lets you control up to four characters per team.Look at the screenshots, and try to tell me this game doesn't warrant a US release. C'mon, Bandai Namco: get your act together. I want to get Tales of the World (and Tales of the Tempest) ASAP![Thanks daniel-kun!]

  • Gamecube gets a role playing game: Tales of Symphonia

Gamecube has not been the go-to console for role playing games. But the cute little box is about to get a new one and it's called Tales of Symphonia. The title has just gone gold so you'll probably see it on the shelves in July. The game doesn't use the turn-based action that a lot of RPGs have been using recently, opting to give the kids some real-time action. The visuals have a nice style to them. Worth a look if you'd like to see your Cube do some role playing action.
