République, the stealth action game that made a name for itself thanks to console-quality production values and a deep storyline, just got its biggest update yet. Episode 3, titled Ones & Zeroes is the largest episode thus far, and continues the story of a dystopian society where constant monitoring is a way of life. The new story addition is the longest thus far and includes new weaponry and puzzles. It's currently available on the App Store as an in-app purchase within the original République app for US$4.99. In case you were hoping to skip ahead, it's important to note that you'll need to have Episode 2 already purchased ($2.99) before you can jump to Episode 3. Due to the game's technical demands, it's recommended that you play it on a device no older than the iPhone 5, and shut down other apps while playing in order to improve your experience.

Chicago-based developer Cardboard Computer has launched the latest installment for its mysterious adventure game, Kentucky Route Zero. The latest episode is the third act of five, the final two of which are expected to arrive "throughout the next year or so," according to the game's site. Season passes for the game are currently 25 percent off ($18.74) through Steam and the Humble widget on Cardboard Computer's site, and will stay discounted until Tuesday, May 13. Described as a "a magical realist adventure game," Kentucky Route Zero follows the people that travel a "secret highway in the caves beneath Kentucky." The first episode launched in January 2013, one month before its arrival on Steam, followed by Act 2 in late May 2013. Cardboard Computer originally anticipated a three-month span between each episode, previously pegging its finale for January of this year. The developer earned $8,583 on Kickstarter in February 2011 to fund the game. [Image: Cardboard Computer]

  • Vindictus heralds upcoming Episode 3

Episode 3 will be coming to Vindictus next week featuring a new area full of challenging monsters. In it, Vindictus players will be able to progress to the Misty Summit, which is a little bit of a misnomer due to the fact that it's made of four peaks. In any case, the cliff-themed region will keep players on their toes, especially if adventurers find a treasure map that's full of disappearing monsters. The update will happen on November 27th, but you can get an advance look by watching the trailer after the break! [Source: Nexon press release]

  • The Walking Dead Episode 3 review: The importance of high fives

It's becoming difficult to write about Telltale's The Walking Dead. We're on episode three of five now and the story is climbing the rising action mountain in typical zombie apocalypse fashion: People die. Spirits break. Minds melt. It's difficult to write a cohesive review with this level of spoiler-inherent drama, and it's even harder with Telltale's individualized gameplay mechanics. Each decision can lead a player down a unique path, and with all the choices combined it feels as if no two people will play precisely the same plot.I could very well review a different story here from the one you play, but the game itself is cohesive across all potential plot lines, in mechanics, direction, writing and design. Regardless of how anyone travels through The Walking Dead Episode 3: Long Road Ahead, it's apparent that this is a solid – and gruesome – game.%Gallery-163474%

It's been a big week for sci-fi fans, but what about the fans who are less about space-knights and melodrama and more about blowing things into oblivion with big spaceships armed with big guns? Don't worry, gamigo has you covered with Black Prophecy's newest addition, Episode 3: Rise of the Boids. So wtf is a Boid, you may wonder. Well, according to this press release, "the Boids are a robotic race who have been waiting eons for a mysterious, universe-altering event to occur." Ominous. On the gameplay side of things, Episode 3 raises the level cap to 50 while also adding "new story missions, one new warzone, a new open world sector for players level 40 and up, 11 new job missions and a brand new PvE raid system." That's right, a brand new raid system, which will allow large groups of players to band together to tackle the two newly added raids. And all of this comes with a few tweaks and fixes for various mishaps. For the update's official release trailer, click on past the cut, then head on over to Black Prophecy's official site to get in the game. [Source: gamigo AG press release]

  • Rumor: Dota 2 client leaked, contains 'ep3' code

You'll forgive us if we're highly speculative about code supposedly unearthed from the leaked beta client for Valve's upcoming action RTS, Dota 2. It supposedly includes information from a folder named "ep3." Now wait a minute, stop huffing -- we know, we know -- and hear us out. As reported by Valve fan site Lambda Generation, the Dota 2 beta client has apparently leaked via Vietnam, and eager fans datamined the code for info, apparently plundering a string of code regarding something called "ep3." As you might imagine, both the dataminers and gaming websites are saying the folder pertains to the comically nebulous Half-Life 2: Episode 3, with the code pointing to two weapons -- an ice gun and a flamethrower -- as well as three "weaponizers" (concrete, liquid, and metal). But wait, why would Valve leave code for another one of its projects in the beta code for Dota 2, especially a project that it refuses to acknowledge exists? In short, Valve's done some similarly cheeky things in the past to promote its games, albeit not nearly as deep as this would be. We've reached out to Valve for word, but don't expect to hear anything official.

Telltale has set loose the third episode of Back to the Future: The Game on the App Store, giving iPad owners looking for their next fix of Marty McFly adventures a $6.99 bit of relief. In this latest episode, Marty finds himself stranded in an alternate version of the '80s. The biggest change: the apparent lord of all, "First Citizen Brown," pictured above. He looks like he's never taken guff in his entire life.

Those who were hoping to hear savory details about Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode 3 during the Penny Arcade Expo (how appropriate!) are about to have said hopes dashed upon the rocks. During our recent interview with the comic's creators, Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, we learned that no news regarding the game will come during the duo's Seattle-based gaming community event. There's a reason for the game's non-appearance during PAX -- but Holkins and Krahulik were tight-lipped about what that reason is. Krahulik teased, "When you hear the announcement, you'll be like 'oooooh.' It'll make sense." Holkins articulately added, "You'll feel vigor in all of your limbs." We're fairly certain that's a good thing.

  • Valve's Gabe Newell still not talking Episode 3

Half-Life 2 developer Valve Software is remaining unsurprisingly cagey in conversations about Half-Life 2: Episode 3. Speaking with G4, the company's managing director Gabe Newell said, "There are very good reasons why we're not talking about Episode 3, which I can't talk about yet." When pressed on the possibility of hearing more about the game by the end of 2009, Newell downright dismisses the question and, instead, chooses to speak about the "rhythm" the team working on Episode 3 is developing. Does that mean Valve's working on the long-awaited rhythm/music component to Half-Life 2? We can only dream.[Via Big Download]

Half-Life 2: Episode 3. The mere mention of the game makes our inner Valve-loving, Combine-hating, Crowbar-swinging heart go aflutter. That's why when mention of actual Valve supplied Episode 3 "Advisor" concept artwork appearing at E3's Into the Pixel art exhibition, we began to weep with excitement. Then we realized that the artwork had the descriptor reading "Platforms: PC, PS3 and Xbox 360". Our weeps soon turned into a joyous outburst of all out waterfall tears. Episode 3, it may be revealed at E3, but is guaranteed to eventually be hitting the 360. Yippy![Via IGN]

  • Rumor: UGO-owned E3.net lists Kid Icarus, Alan Wake, HL2: Episode 3

Did you hear Alan Wake was confirmed to be shown at E3? How about Kid Icarus Wii? Half-Life 2 Episode 3? Doom 4? All these games have been listed on E3.net under the E3 Games tab. There's just one problem ... E3.net isn't the official E3 page. (If you're curious, here's the official site.) Take note of the top banner, the bottom collection of links and all the latest news posts: yep, it's an UGO site. We've put in a call to their PR to see if there's any affiliation with the media summit, but that said, we doubt Microsoft, Nintendo, Valve or id Software would ever let these high-profile games be revealed so unceremoniously. Chalk this up as wishful thinking in the meantime.

Codemasters Online has released information about its upcoming expansion to the free-to-play ArchLord. Titled Episode 3: Spirits Awakening, the also-free expansion will feature 3 new game zones, over 80 new class skills, new ruling ArchLord abilities, new collectible armor sets, and new monsters and zone bosses. For those who haven't heard of this title, one of ArchLord's unique properties is that any player can rise to the top and become the ArchLord of their particular server, gaining access to a castle, stronger spells, and a dragon. Needless to say, the title is in constant flux, which provides a great incentive to continue to play. The press release doesn't give specifics for the actual expansion release date other than it's due in a few weeks. Once it arrives, we'll take another look at this MMO.

Our next Cinemassively comes from Oblivion Media. Dead in WoW is a short series with four episodes so far. Set in World of Warcraft, it is the second series from this creative team.I chose to start at Episode 0, the first video in the set, so that you understand the background of Episode 3, which just came out today. It starts off with a staff meeting, turns into a musical, kicks off with a special delivery and leaves off with an epic journey. I'm not sure I understand it, but it's not half bad!
