  • The DekaVita is a seven-inch 'handheld' with a Vita TV slid into the back

When the not-exactly-small five-inch PlayStation Vita just isn't enough handheld for your... hands, it's time for the DekaVita 7 -- literally "huge Vita 7". Gametech has managed to make the Vita TV portable, by attaching HDMI and AC connectors, buttons and a seven-inch IPS screen to the miniconsole. (Why?) The result is something approaching a slightly smaller Wii U GamePad, although there's no touchscreen -- because there isn't any compatibility with the Vita TV. (Seriously, why?) It'll cost 23,000 yen when it launches sometime in Spring 2015, although early preorders will get a 4,000 yen discount. Japan residents can do that here. Just, why?

  • 'WaSaBi': Game accessories with Japanese spice

Tons of companies were at E3 to show off their game accessory series, but nobody had a more eye-catching setup than Gametech's WaSaBi line. The accessory line, which features traditional Japanese patterns and ukiyo-e artwork, first launched in Japan in December of last year. Gametech has just opened sales to American customers, using this flashy booth both to attract their attention and to gauge their interest with surveys. The display worked on us -- we couldn't help but get pictures to share with you.The accessories on hand ranged from gorgeous (especially in the case of the PSP and DS pouches) to gaudy (the guitars), but all add a distinctly Japanese touch to your game systems.%Gallery-65323%

Step back into the 70's with this rhinestone-Bedazzler-encrusted PSP. Sure, you could go ahead and get some diamonds to attach to your favorite handheld, but why look official when you can say: "I'm a fool" without opening your mouth? Maybe we're overreacting. Someone is bound to enjoy Gametech's Jewel Stone Sheets, customizing their PSP to reflect sunlight like nobody's business. If it's your thing, cool. If not, feel free to mock it.[via PSPVault]

  • GAMETECH's Sound Shell bulks up your DS Lite, isn't worth the trouble

You know how rough it is -- trying to procure a couple of those Duke Xbox controllers for your man-sized paws. Thankfully, for folks such as yourself, GAMETECH's busting out the Sound Shell, which takes the apparently dangerously small DS Lite and gives it plenty of fat. Besides adding on a pair of sure-to-be-booming speakers to the rear, this thing also provides a nifty storage nook for your earbuds and a totally necessary kickstand. You could blow ¥3,200 ($30) on this, or you could look a whole lot more hip by just picking up a similarly beefy Game Boy and kickin' it old school.[Via DSFanboy, image courtesy of Technabob]

  • Make your DS bulkier, louder

Gametech's new Sound Shell DLite solves the two major problems with the DS Lite: first, that it's not big enough, and second, that it just doesn't make enough noise. Why be discreet when you can be conspicuous, right? Aside from making the DS totally beefy and loud, the Sound Shell acts as a cover for both the top and bottom of the system, and includes a built-in stand. Okay, that last part -- integrating a stand into a case -- is actually a really good idea. The Shell will retail for 3,200 yen ($30).GAME Watch has other, more conventional (as in not-full-of-electronics) cases on display in their roundup, including the useful-looking Fine Pouch, which is actually already available for sale.[Via GAME Watch]

The new Game & Manual Holder 24 from Gametech is one of the few cases designed to hold a large number of DS cards-- this one (obviously) holds 24. It is also the only case we know of that has pockets for game manuals. Since we can't imagine needing the manuals after reading them once, maybe you can use those pockets for jerky, Fruit Roll-ups, or some other flat snack. The case comes in blue (above) black, brown, and white, and will retail for 1,680 yen ($14.75) when it comes out this Friday in Japan. Of course, if you can't wait, you can just make your own multi-game case.[Via ITMedia]

Those looking to be a little more selective in the Nintendo DS-related media they transfer to and from their PC will soon have a new option from GameTech, which is set to release the above hardware/software combo in Japan on August 31st. While there unfortunately doesn't appear to be much more info than what you see on the box, the system seems to be straightforward enough, consisting a USB stick-sized device that'll accommodate your DS cart and some software (Windows only) that'll help you backup and manage your save game files. Of course, we're sure there's plenty of folks that'll find more uses for the thing than just save games, although it doesn't seem like GameTech's willing to help you in that department.

Unlike Datel's Action Replay Max Duo, this game-save manager from Gametech doesn't require any GBA-slot jury-rigging or an unsightly device that sticks out of your handheld like an air conditioner. All you have to do is pop your DS cart into Gametech's discreet USB dongle, hook it onto a PC with the installed software, and you're good to go.This $30 device can be really useful for titles like Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja or SimCity DS, both of which having only one save slot. You can also keep a back-up of your progress in case you accidentally lose the game or decide to trade it in later. [Via Game Watch]

  • When you stare at this DS case, the DS case stares back at you

Gametech seems to have a taste for the gaudy when it comes to DS Lite covers, but they totally got it right at least once. This DS Lite case features a kunoichi (female ninja) design in simple white on black fabric. It's cute and striking at the same time. The design looks quite similar to R Stevens' I am Ten Ninjas t-shirt, although much more feminine and much less blocky. We'd love to clothe our DS in such mystery, but at 3,980 yen ($32.26) it's a little pricey for our tastes. But, then, so are most sandwiches.

If you happen to be a Wii owner who secretly yearns for the cancelled PS3 "boomerang" controller, then boy have we got something for you. Wrap your meaty man-hands around this bad boy and your Excite Truck experience will be ... uh... like nothing Nintendo ever wanted you to experience. Brilliant! And no, this doesn't even come complete with convenient recharging abilities. It's just a plastic boomerang shell.[Via CVG]

  • Adhesive feet for the careful gamer

Gametech has created another head-scratching Wii accessory (in that it's baffling, not that it scratches your head for you). This time, it's the Taore na Sheet W (Collapsing Sheet W): a set of adhesive rubber feet that secure your Wii stand and sensor bar to their locations, and, just to be sure, secure the Wii to its stand. With no controller cords to trip over, we had to think about who the target audience for this product was. Well, we didn't have to think about it for too long before one of our cats knocked a picture frame off of the coffee table. This product makes a lot of sense for cat owners![Via GAME Watch]

  • Japan gets pretty designer pouches

Japan sure loves their pretty PSP cases. On March 30th, Gametech will be releasing some PSP pouches: they look pretty, but they sure don't look like they'll hold up to abuse. At 3980 yen, it certainly doesn't come cheap--but that's the high price you pay for fashion, no?See also:Signature series expands: new cases for people with too much money[Via PSP GadgetZ]
