  • 'Nintendo by Torrel' clothing now for sale online

The NES-themed collection of shirts, jackets, and hoodies from designer Torrel is no longer just an abstract topic of discussion on blogs. You can now buy the things in the pictures! From a website! On the Internet! Truly an auspicious day for practical applications of previously abstract concepts (where we're defining "t-shirts that you can't buy" as "abstract.")Well, maybe you can buy them. The t-shirts start at $50. The jackets run $200. Someone would have to be excellently wealthy and also weird to blow $50 on an Urban Champion t-shirt. In fact, we'd like to meet that person, so we can convince him or her to invest in the crazy inventions that we'll make up for the occasion. We can't help but continue to enjoy the eye-catching NES cartridge shirts. We're warming to some of the others, but the cartridge design is a definite winner. Is it a $50 winner? No, but only because it is currently impossible for such a t-shirt to exist, given our financial situation.

  • Celebrate Mega Man's 20th by looking awesome

Capcom is releasing some totally great stuff to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the first Rockman game (way back when it had scores). We're happy not just because it's rad, but because it focuses on the for-real Blue Bomber and not on one of the scores of Mega Man-lites Capcom has spun off over the years.Unfortunately, we can't tell if the limited-edition items -- including t-shirts, scarves (!) and phone straps -- will be made available online or only at the special Rockman event held in Ikebukuro on the 18th. We would at least like a shot at ordering one of these jackets. We're cold.[Via Inside-Games]

We have suddenly decided to care more about one of the Virtual Console's oldest shooters. Japanese t-shirt company Mars Sixteen, as part of their ongoing (and amazing) Namco shirt collection, has created two cool Xevious shirts. The grey one shown above features the game's logo and Solvalou ship on the front, and an edited screenshot of the Fortress on the back. The other features the Nazca Lines as seen in the game.Mars Sixteen's other video game shirts include a lot of great Falcom and Sega stuff, as well as more Namco classics. They've made some surprising choices regarding which games deserve their own shirts! Would you wear a Samurai Ghost t-shirt?[Via Famitsu]

  • Nintendo shirts for the urban nerd

Clothing designer Torrel will debut their new limited edition Nintendo-based clothing line on November 15th at the Nintendo World Store. It's marketed as "urban", which seems to translate into "enormous all-over prints." Most of the shirts, hoodies, and jackets follow this design philosophy of HUGE ART, and of those, some manage to be kind of cool-looking, like the giant NES cartridge design. Others are just kind of garish, but hey-- we imagine there's an intersection of "people who like Nintendo stuff" and "people who like garish stuff."Other items in the line manage to be somewhat subtler and more our speed. We think the Sub-con potion shirt is pretty great, for example, and we would also wear a Wild Gunman boxart shirt just because it's a little too weirdly obscure to get its own shirt-- and we support that.[Via Kotaku]

  • No More Nudity: Grasshopper Manufactures some t-shirts

    by

    10.15.2007

To commemorate No More Heroes, developer Grasshopper Manufacture had some shirts printed up. There are seven different designs, most of which have color variants as well. As would be expected from the guys responsible for the rocking look of No More Heroes, they look awesome. They run from the somewhat normal (the No More Heroes logo on the front, "KILL ONLY" on the back) to the weird (a big Tengu mask with the word "TENGU" printed above and below in Japanese and English) to the obscure (the Santa Destroy shirt above). There are a few problems. The shirts seem to run very small-- some are available in sizes up to a US small. They're also a little pricey at 3500 yen ($29). That's not quite King of Games territory, but it still seems a little high. Most problematic of all, however, is the fact that we haven't figured out how to get one out of Japan yet. They seem to only ship to Japanese addresses. Maybe NCSX or Play Asia will pick them up-- or maybe we can bug Ubisoft to sell some to US fans.[Via Dengeki]

  • EA celebrates UK MySims release with useless, expensive stuff

To commemorate the British release of MySims, EA commissioned some apparently famous fashion designers to come up with some crazy junk as part of the MySims Capsule Collection. The four items are all intended to serve dual purposes, and embody "the core attributes of the game - Self Expression, Customisation, Creativity and Collectability."The item descriptions should give you all the information you need to make informed decisions about whether or not you want these items. For example, the House of Holland MySims Pouch Tee is a t-shirt with a pouch for a DS. It also uses a big-slogan style that you may remember from "FRANKIE SAY RELAX" or Wham!'s "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" video. Also, two of the four items are Wiimote bags. Bags-- for your Wiimote.[Via GoNintendo; image via Kotaku]

  • New WoW class shirts at J!NX give a stat buff

The official WoW webpage is sporting a new advertisement for some class-themed T-shirts available at J!NX for priests, druids, shamans and paladins. They say that these shirts come with "a +20 buff to pwnage," which is quite a lot, so for those of you out there is running short on pwnage, be sure to wear these shirts at all times! Also, if you need glowing eyes and wings sprouting out of your back, be sure to buy the priests' shirt in particular, as seen in this photo displayed at their website. The designs actually look pretty cool. I've taken the liberty of copying them for you below so you can see what I mean. Even if you don't need any extra pwnage, one might want to buy a shirt just for the beauty factor alone.

  • Apple t-shirt: Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree

Quality shirts for Apple fans can sometimes be hard to find on the web. Call me crazy, but the standard-issue black "GEEK" shirts don't quite cut it for me; I hate black as a shirt color because it gets way too hot in the summer, and these kinds of designs are typically bland and uninteresting. Insanely Great Tees is a newer entry in this space, offering some clever and creative pro-Apple t-shirts. Panic, makers of apps like Transmit and CandyBar, also offers one of my favorite shirts in their Goods section called the Spinner (scroll down, I can't link to it directly. Grr). It's subtle Apple nerdery that will likely catch only the eyes of those who know what it is. Fortunately, one of my favorite novelty shops, Go Ape Shirts, has just tossed their shirt into the ring (hah!) with this entry, Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree. You might also know their work from other hits like Boo Boo Walker. Sporting Apple products both old and new, Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree is a good tongue-in-cheek play on a phrase wrapped up in a cool design on a uniquely colored tee. With prices for guys and girls starting at $18, I might as well contact Josh, the shop's owner, to see if I can open a tab.

  • Insider Trader: For the orc with everything

Insider Trader is your inside line on making, selling, buying and using player-made products.LFGear? Insider Trader has tallied up some tidy little tailored items this week for both cloth-wearers and non-clothies alike. Why would you use tailored gear if you're not a cloth wearer? As they say, "Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man ..." The stylish man of means has a shirt and suit for every occasion, and tailoring's where it's at. We've also discovered some nifty little utility pieces for the 70 Who Has It All™. (Oh, and if you're a tailor, these items are definite contenders for Auction House action.) Also this week, we'll look into mana loom locations. Sorry, we don't have a long list of little-known locations to pass along -- but at least we can confirm the few known locations and perhaps dispel a few questions about where mana looms are not.For the 70 who has it all While not noteworthy for the most space-pressed or epic-focused of players, these tailored items can be handy conveniences for the PvPer or the level 70 who has it all. Azure Silk Belt Boosts swim speed by 15% -- useful when farming, PvPing near water, or swimming to Onyxia. Spider Belt Removes existing Immobilizing effects and makes you immune to Immobilizing effects for 5 seconds; can be helpful in PvP. Netherweave Net Captures a target up to 25 yards away in a net for 3 seconds. Unreliable and short-duration though it is, can be handy in PvP.

  • This is why we're dorks

Considering the amount of remixes Mims' hit rap single "This is Why I'm Hot" set off -- R. Kelly's "This is Why I'm Cold," the NBA's "The Phoenix Suns Are Hot," and Chubbs' "This is Why I'm Fat" for example -- we're surprised that it took this long for its catchy hook to reach video gaming's catch-phrase-hungry communities. Mirroring Mims' insipid lyrics, the simplicity of SnorgTees' shirt design leaves no room for confusion on its message or the company's plans to rake in crazy money by exploiting our nostalgia-addled minds. We can imagine the office congratulations and "props" received by the young designer who paired the 8-bit fire flower with the narcissistic mantra. They all agree, this is why he's hot. The $16.95 shirt comes in royal blue and black, its lowercase Myriad Pro text staying chalky white on both colors. If you haven't heard the song several hundred times already, you have the option of checking past the post break for an embedded music video of the club track.

The title is imperative for a reason. Seriously, you should either be working on a t-shirt right now or headed out to Michaels to pick up supplies. Oh, or reading this post. That's totally fine.To make this Princess Peach shirt, HackerZen user Lenore adapted the technique used by a very faithful reader to make his Phoenix Wright shirt, adding the extra step of drawing a grid on the shirt with a washable marker, then filling in pixels to make a big sprite. Excellent. But don't just default to Mario. There are a lot of sprites out there. Get creative![Via GoNintendo]

There is one thing about geeks of all stripes, they like t-shirts. I should know, since I'm a geek myself! Two t-shirts that caught my eye recently would make fun gifts for the Mac geek in your life. Our friends at MacMerc whipped up this 'Worst. Keynote. Ever!' shirt that is sure to put a smile on the most cynical of your Mac friends. It can be yours for $17.90.On the other side of the spectrum we have this 'Steve Jobs for President' tee from the folks at Insanely Great Tees. If Steve were President the trains might not run on time, but they would sure look pretty. This shirt sells for $17.[Worst. Keynote. Ever! via CrunchGear, SJ for Pres via Uncrate.]

Mark Newton and his coworkers at Gamestop received this "We're Building an Armii" shirt from their store's Nintendo representative, making sure to post a photo of their spoils for us to envy over with aching hearts. Thanks a lot, guys. Thanks for NOTHING.We're not sure which war Nintendo plans on shipping these Miis to, but just how useful would these guys be in any combat situation? Playing Wii Sports: Tennis is one thing, but keeping your cool while you're under fire and your buddy next to you is filled with shrapnel, begging you to take him home and make things alright again like they were before, is another. March two klicks past the post break for a closer look at the shirt swag.

Keeping track of all the Wii t-shirts being sold on the internet can be tough. Whenever we try to wade through our bookmarks to pick one out, it feels like we're drowning in a sea of outdated pages and bad puns.OMG Tees has listed over a dozen of the best Wii-related apparel, providing photos, descriptions, and information on where to buy them. We've featured the Beatles and custom Mii designs before, but some of collected shirts (like the Bruce Wii one shown above) have managed to escape our attention until now. Would you actually dole out cash for any of these shirts? Or are you more like us, always putting it off and telling yourself that you'll buy one as soon as you have a little more extra cash laying around?

Nintendo recently held a fashion show at their Nintendo World Store in NYC, where gamers displayed clothing items for sale in the store, as well as fanmade creations. We've developed a new classification system for Nintendo fandom based on this event and the accompanying photo gallery: People who play Nintendo games People who wear Nintendo t-shirts People who make their own Nintendo t-shirts People who model those t-shirts at Nintendo events We personally fall into level 3 of the Nintendo Fanboyism T-Shirt Scale. We think it's a pretty good measure of fandom, although it doesn't take into account the whole "working for a website called Wii Fanboy and writing about Nintendo all day" thing. Hmm.[Via GoNintendo]

This weird-looking t-shirt with the phrase "NO MORE HEROES" was spotted in Japan recently. Just from looking at the shirt, we have no idea if it's related to the Wii game, but the 4cr poster who purchased it seemed to think so, indicating that it is part of a line of No More Heroes shirts. We'd like to see the full line of these shirts; we'd be unlikely to purchase this one, but we really like the idea of having some No More Heroes memorabilia. Suda 51's games and his company Grasshopper Manufacture's website prove that they are capable of remarkable stylishness. Check their shop for some amazing stuff that doesn't look like it was designed by a video game company. Of course, the store is for Japan only, but go and gawk anyway.

Should you happen to be (or know) a girl gamer, we have the perfect Festivus gift for you. Featuring a very important phrase from the Halo series, its sure to delight one and all. Guys, if you see a girl wearing this shirt in your local night club, you grab on to her. Hold on and never let go. Should you desire one of these, they can be had in a variety of sizes for the paltry sum of $17.95. Any 360 fangirls out there want to pick one up?[Via BBP&S. Thanks, Nitin]

Ready for some overpriced clothing that'll let the world know you're a gamer? Of course you are! The self-proclaimed "King of Games" in Japan has some threads for you. These suckers are roughly $50 a pop, and feature some really bizarre artwork. Check out the series dedicated to Nintendo's Game & Watch handhelds. It looks like their "Sweat Parka" hoodie has a pocket made just for your DS, but since we can't read Japanese, and their English site is "beta only" right now, we don't know. The Zelda designs on it are pretty nifty though. Our favorite shirt is the "80s Videogamer" model. Simple with a message.Although right now if forced to choose between a new Wii game and the shirt, we gotta go with the game.[Thanks, Jeff]

  • Joyswag: A Castle Crashers tee for your thoughts

One of the greatest parts about meeting The Behemoth's Tom Fulp at PAX (hi Tom!) was hearing how he read and incorporated our reader's feedback into the Castle Crashers' PAX build, specifically Psaakyrn's comment that enemies appeared to get stuck outside the screen. In the footage from the PAX build you'll notice a dearth of such behavior, with most of the action concentrated towards the center of the screen. In the spirit of continuing this line of communication, we'll be giving away two of these super sweet Castle Crashers tees to a randomly selected comment containing feedback. Do you like the graphics? How much would you pay for a title like this? Did you manage to acquire the coveted "first post"? Just kidding, that last one doesn't count. Let us, and The Behemoth, know what you think of their latest effort and you could win a tee (continue reading for the rules). Get to it, we'll give you another chance tomorrow.P.S.- Tom agrees with us, the world would be a much better place with a Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006 game. He didn't say they're making one, he was just saying. We're gonna puff up our cheeks and hold our breath until PBCBSF2006 climbs out of its animated grave and into our interactive world. Starting. Now.

  • Limited edition Shadow of the Colossus tee

We're certain this limited edition Shadow of the Colossus tee will have some of our readers fumbling through their chubby trifolds, weaving in and out of grocery club cards, de-laminated licenses, and ATM receipts, just to find that one credit card that isn't maxed out on import video games. But you'd better be quick, cause these are limited editions. Due to go on sale tomorrow, this $30 CAD (about $27 USD) shirt features a towering colossus (number three if we're not mistaken) being approached by Agro carrying our fearless protagonist. It comes in the regular assortment of sizes (which are the same in Canada as the States, no?) but there's only 200 to go around. So, if you managed to find that credit card, you still have to be quick (feel free to insert your own 12:01 joke here). [Thanks, jerry]
