The console version of Terraria arrived worldwide on Xbox 360 and in North America back in March, while European PSN players have been waiting patiently for their chance. Or maybe they haven't been patient. We haven't polled anyone. Anyway, the point is Terraria will be out on PS3 in Europe and Australia on May 15, at a €14.99 / £11.99 price point. If you still don't mind waiting, a Vita version is on the way later this summer.

Terraria on consoles may be the latest rage, but the PC original hasn't been forgotten. Developer Andrew "Redigit" Spinks recently took to the Terraria Online forums to tease an upcoming update. He posted two images of the update, along with another image on Facebook. The images depict some lovely waterfalls and clouds, and one forum goer points out what may be a new weapon.According to Redigit, there are both regular clouds and rain clouds, and both can be placed anywhere and mined. We're not really sure what you could make with cloud ore, but there you go. The update is slated to arrive in the "next few months.%Gallery-184777%"

Details, like pricing and whether it will support Cross Save or Cross Buy with the PS3 version, have yet to be announced. For now, its existence is the thing. It will most certainly resemble Terraria more than the live-action video released alongside the announcement.

Terraria, the PC creation conceived by the small staff at developer Re-Logic, will finally make its way to the digital storefronts of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Developed by Engine Software and published 505 Games, the console version of Terraria features fresh content, including a new big bad dubbed Ocram as well as additional enemies, weapons, pets and inventory items, and is scheduled to arrive at "the end of February or early March," according to 505 Games community manager Logan Rosenstein. The console version's biggest addition, however, is the ability to play Terraria with a controller. It's initially hard to picture playing Terraria without the combination of a mouse and keyboard. The basic movement controls are simple enough, but inventory management, mining, and construction are all governed by a pointer-based interface that is best left for a mouse to handle. The gamepad controls developed for the port aim to offer the best of both worlds."The biggest challenge [the dev team faced] was the controls," Rosenstein said of the porting process. "The PC version is so heavily reliant on the keyboard and mouse, so the dev team spent a lot of time and a lot of effort working on the controls. They did several different layouts and several different practice runs."%Gallery-178191%

Terraria digs into XBLA and PSN in February, 505 Games' YouTube description on the above video reveals. The video itself shows off the brand-new content coming to the console versions, which we heard hints of back when the only release window was "early 2013."The console version of Terraria will include new controls (shocking), a world map and a new tutorial, armor, ultimate weapons, enemies, pets, music and a shiny new final boss. Terraria on consoles will also include local, split-screen multiplayer for up to four people and eight-player online multiplayer.Terraria hit PC on May 16, 2011, from developer Re-Logic, and by September 2012 it sold 1.6 million copies. It's kind of like developers at Re-Logic are digging for gold, but they found 1.6 million people to do all the actual labor for them.

Re-Logic's blockbuster RPG Terraria is coming to Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network from publisher 505 Games. 505 also announced the digger/builder/action-adventure's sold 1.6 million copies on PC, and that Dutch developer Engine Software is handling the upcoming conversion"I can't say how excited I am to finally have Terraria come to Xbox 360 and PlayStation3," said Andrew Spinks, the creator of Terraria, "To see it come so far is a complete shock, especially after such humble beginnings. It's always been my dream to have as many people as possible know and enjoy Terraria as much as I have, and this is another big step in that direction."The news of a console release of the 2011 indie game was first disclosed on its Facebook page, after teasing fans yesterday with word of a big reveal. The game comes to XBLA and PSN early next year.

  • Terraria goes retail in EU with 'Collector's Edition' on March 16

Despite selling over 1 million copies of Terraria across Terra Firma, Merge Games believes the title has yet to reach a key demographic: PC game buyers without internet connections. Okay, okay, it's also possible that the Merge Games-published "Collector's Edition" of the Re-Logic-developed 2D indie hit is popular enough to warrant a version made especially for superfans, but we much prefer the concept of a board meeting to discuss a gradually disappearing group of people.Anyway, the collector's edition of Terraria will run EU residents £19.95 (€23.80/$31.30) when it arrives at retailers on March 16, and will come packed with "an exclusive in-game item, a poster, a key ring, and trading cards." That's about $20 more than the digital copy costs you on Steam right this minute -- but does that contain the adorable little pickaxe keychain (seen after the break)? Yeah, we didn't think so.It's unclear if the collector's version of Terraria will arrive in North America or Asia, but we've asked Merge Games for clarification.

It's time to strip down your bunks, throw your macaroni necklaces in a suitcase and get back to town -- it's the final day of the Steam Summer Camp Sale. Today Steam is featuring some of the sale's biggest titles (which means you probably already have them), including franchise deals on Fallout, Battlefield, Borderlands, Just Cause and Assassin's Creed. One game you may not have bought yet, Terraria, is also 50 percent off today. If there's a better way of forming one last Summer Camp memory than a 2D, Minecraft-inspired sidescrolling goldmine of fun, we can't think of it.

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today. Mike Sacco was raving about Terraria so much all weekend that I was pretty excited to get to log on and rock some multiplayer with him and Mat McCurley. I log onto their server with my character, wearing some pretty sweet sweatpants and a hooded sweatshirt. I flee through the night from zombies, flying eyeballs, and soul devourers to find Mike's character leaping carelessly around his godstone-hewn mountain fortress with his rocket shoes, wearing crimson crystalline battle armor that makes him look like a shinier version of that guy from Viewtiful Joe. I think his name was Viewtiful Joe. Is that what it's like to be a newbie in WoW again? mgall726 asked: Do you think current Archaeology epics will scale to still be as good as raid drops in 4.2? Like having Zin'rokh become a 378 epic? If not, do you think they'll be adding more epics that are on par with the new raids to make archy still be worth it for end-game?
