Samsung's first iTunes-ready TVs are here
Samsung's 2019 QLED TVs are rolling out in earnest, and they're widening Apple's ecosystem in the process. You can either purchase or pre-order the 8K Q900 as well as a host of 4K sets (the high-end Q series, the fashionable Lifestyle series or the budget RU line), and all of them will support the promised iTunes Movies & Videos app. You won't have to buy an Apple TV or otherwise jump through hoops to watch iTunes purchases and rentals in the living room. AirPlay 2 casting support is still coming "soon," and will reach 2018 TVs through a firmware update.
Samsung updates its stylish Frame TVs with more features and artwork
Samsung's classy Frame TVs have returned, enhanced for 2018 with more art and four magnetic bezel cover options to ensure the expansive 4K Frames fit into the decor of even more homes. The new TVs come with an updated, improved artwork UI, making it easier to browse art collections by color scheme or art medium, if, for example you were only looking for photography to jazz up your lounge. (Samsung has added 30 iconic pieces of photography from The New York Times, in that regard.) Frame 2018 owners can also save a personalized art collection that the TV will shuffle through when on standby. There's no 43-inch model this time, so you'll have to decide between the 55- and 65-inch options.
Samsung offers $400 discount on its artsy 'The Frame' TV
When tuned properly, a good TV can offer a window into another world. Samsung knew this when putting together its design-forward Frame TV last year, and now the tech juggernaut is making it easier to put one on your wall. Now through May 12th (the day before Mother's Day) you can pick up a 55-inch or 65-inch model of the UHD display for $400 off, which knocks the price down to $1,598 and $2,398, respectively, on Amazon. That means you can get the 55-inch variant for just a few hundred dollars over what a 43-incher would've cost last November. Mom wanted a fancy TV for her special day, right? It'd sure beat the vacuum cleaner Dad got her last year.

When Samsung announced The Frame TV earlier this year, it quickly became a product of interest for people with minimalist taste. That's because it's essentially designed to double as an art piece, and its aesthetics can easily blend in with any paintings you may have on your wall. It launched in June in both 55- and 65-inch size, but at IFA 2017, Samsung unveiled a new 43-inch model. This may be a good option for those of you who maybe liked the looks of the TV but would prefer it in a smaller size.
Samsung has a 43-inch version of its Frame TV for smaller spaces
Samsung has announced that its art-inspired Frame TV, which launched this past June, will soon come in a 43-inch version. The new model could be a good alternative for people who may not be able to fit one of the existing 55- or 65-inch Frame TVs on their wall, or for those who simply think the others are too large for their taste. As part of today's reveal, Samsung also said that it has partnered with Spain's Museo del Prado, aka the Prado museum, on an experience that will let Frame TV owners display about 1,000 of its pieces. There's no word on pricing or availability yet, but you can expect the 43-inch version to cost around $1,500 since the 55 and 65 are $2,000 and $2,800, respectively.

In 2015, Samsung took a minimalist approach with its Serif TV, a 4K television designed to blend in with your furniture at home or office. That product is part of the company's efforts to make TVs look and feel less obtrusive, all without losing their main functionality: letting you watch your favorite movies or TV shows. As of March, this now includes the "Frame TV," which was created with the idea to double as an art piece. The concept is made up of and LCD, UHD panel, Tizen OS smart TV features and a wall-mounting system that, Samsung says, doesn't require you to hire anyone to set it up.
Samsung's 'The Frame' TV doubles as an art piece
Samsung has hyped its 2017 TV lineup to the Moon and back, but it still has room for a few surprises. The tech giant has offered more details about its previously-teased The Frame, a TV that's designed to (you guessed it) double as a picture frame. Switch on an Art Mode and it'll display over 100 pieces of art whenever you're not using it -- effectively, it becomes another part of your home decor. It's clearly meant to hang on your wall (it uses Samsung's new gapless wall mount and Invisible Connection), and you can swap out bezels to match the look of your living room. There's also an optional Studio Stand if wall placement isn't in the cards.
The Frame brings high-def art to Canadian HDTVs on Star Choice
We'll go ahead and say it: Canada is in desperate need of some fresh HD channels, and while we're sure Canucks will take any one they can get, we have all ideas The Frame isn't high on their list of wants. Nevertheless, the all-HD-art channel that hit Shaw Cable back in August has finally arrived on subsidiary Star Choice, and as expected, it will provide a 24-hour feed of high-def art sans commercials. From "exclusive fine art collections to award-winning photographs," The Frame promises to give your HDTV a workout when there's absolutely nothing else on. Shaw Cable launches The Frame HD channel: high-def art, all the time
Apparently this whole "showing off HD art on the HDTV" fad is quite popular. Not only are certain HDTV manufacturers partnering with content providers, Canada's Shaw Cable is actually launching a 24/7 channel that broadcasts high-def art around the clock to entertain guests and show off just how pixelated pay-TV can be. The commercial free station, dubbed The Frame, essentially converts your set into an HD canvas that shows off art from Canada Collects, Animal Kingdom, Water World, Birds of a Feather, The Seven Seas, Canadian Horizons, City Lights, Sands of Time, Gardens of Delight, and many others. The galleries rotate every half hour and the images change every 30 seconds. As of now, the station is on slot 225 in Calgary, while the carrier intends to roll it out in more markets by September.
