For long Skype calls with friends and family, I plug this right in and use it instead of the built in option. For starters, it does a much better job of capturing light and colors than my built in iSight. On top of that, it captures sound better as well. Never do I find myself having to talk loudly when using it. Last, it's just got such a sexy design to it.
