Engadget Review

The Xbox One's controller is mostly a refined version of the last-gen gamepad, with the new shoulder buttons being the only real step backward.

A forgettable product. It isn't bad, exactly, but also doesn't do anything particularly well. - Engadget

Personally the controller is nice but i think a lot of people say its the best cause well they a fanboy. Still takes batteries this is not an upgrade. And still have to spend more money for battery pack and addapter for headphones come on really and its $29 if i remember correctly for real ? Thats a rip off . If they clicking wasnt as loud and built in battery pack and built in head phone jack then yeah prob would be the best controller out there but it aint.

I have smashed my 360 controller countless times and have only found scratches on it, but when i smash the xbox one controller i found only the insides of the controller all over the floor. If they can make the controller more durable to the point where a little fall doesn't break them to pieces i will buy another controller from them. However for the Ergonomics/Comfort and Accuracy/Responsiveness i found them better than the 360 by far.If you are a gamer who at times gets angry to the point where you will smash the controller over there table, wall, bed or floor then i don't recommend this controller unless you have the money to keep buying more cause of how durable it is

Microsoft have taken the already perfect Xbox 360 controller and improved it in 3 ways.It feels a bit better in your hand. The annoying battery "tumor" sticking out the back of the 360 controller is no longer there.Impulse triggers are awesome in games like Forza 5.Not much more to say really, it's easily the best controller on the market.
