If you're in the market for a USB-sized streaming stick that comes with a remote and one of the most improved operating systems around, the Roku Streaming Stick is well worth its $49 price tag.

If you want a physical remote and access to as many streaming services as possible, though, you have two choices: the Amazon Fire TV Stick and the new Roku Streaming Stick. I own both. Roku wins.

If you think you’re fine with your current setup, you may reconsider after seeing just how quickly the new Streaming Stick can navigate menus and load apps. It may sound like a small improvement but ... it can make a huge difference in the long run.

There’s no pressing need to upgrade if you have a good Roku already, and if you’re an Amazon Prime diehard, the Fire TV Stick (and its Alexa-enabled remote) is still a great buy. If your smart TV doesn't cut it, though, this is where your media streamer search should begin.
