Engadget Review

The Sony VAIO F is a solid, sleek machine hindered by a few relatively minor issues. Despite its flaws, it triumphs as an affordable desktop-replacement that won't leave owners feeling like they've been left in the digital dust.

If you're looking for a desktop replacement that doesn't break the bank, the Sony VAIO F Series isn't a bad choice -- it packs a satisfying punch, has a gorgeous display and can be had for under a grand.

PC World
This smallish desktop replacement laptop may be fairly easy to tote, but it just isn't very powerful.

If the size is right for you, the Vaio F Series is a well-made high-end laptop, and is a good reminder that Sony is one of the few brands that comes close to Apple on design and polish.

Computer Shopper
The feature-packed Sony F Series may be the best-performing laptop around its price. It speeds through everyday tasks and can even handle moderate gaming.

The Sony VAIO F delivers impressive performance with Core i7 muscle, Nvidia graphics, and a full HD display.

Digital Versus
Offers comfortable keying and the Full HD screen coupled with a Blu-ray player mean this Vaio covers all the bases… except perhaps when it comes to battery life. It isn’t a machine you'll want to carry around but then it doesn't set out to be.

Fantastic performance and a great HD screen, but the bulky dimensions look dated and it's a bit too expensive.

The Sony VAIO VPC-F21Z1E's probably one of your best choices if you want a 3D laptop, but ask yourself if that's something you really need. Is it worth over £1500 to you now when £1000 will get you something better in a year?

Sony has produced a fantastic machine at a price point that isn’t completely ludicrous; this Core i7 incarnation of the Sony Vaio F Series is fantastic for multimedia. And far cheaper than the MacBook Pro.

About
The Sony VAIO F Series 2D model is good for casual gamers who also want to use the laptop outside of gaming. The 2D model will save you a good chunk of change over the 3D configuration while still offering fast performance thanks to the quad core processor.
