TUAW reader Amy Booth-Robinson loves cats and Apple technology; she has nine rescued cats and all of them have become Apple fans just like their mom. Here's what Amy says about the two felines enjoying a game on their iPad: My kitties LOVE my iPad...and my MacBook....and my iMac. This is one of the many photos I have of them using Apple products. This is Riley and Tinky playing one of their games on the iPad. I have several cat games on the iPad, so when I bring it out they think they get to play. I keep the original iPad just for them. It was easier to buy a new one for me than try to try to use it after showing them the kitty games. All 9 kitties are rescues and embrace technology to the fullest. We'd love to see photos of your favorite feline soaking up the warmth of an Apple product, chasing a Magic Mouse, or just being a general nuisance while you're attempting to work on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone. Please let us know via our feedback page and please remember that your cat photo has to have some sort of connection to Apple or its products. For security reasons we can't accept inbound attachments, so you should host the photo (Dropbox, Flickr, iPhoto Journals, etc.) and send us the link. Many thanks to reader Amy Booth-Robinson for sharing the photo and details of her rescue kittehs.

Every once in a while we get an email at TUAW that tugs at our hearts, and today's Caturday entry certainly did that. Here's Pip's story, directly from the keyboard of one of her parents: Our beloved cat that was only 5 years old just died today unexpectedly. Me (Dustin) and my partner (Ian) are completely devastated and heartbroken. Her name is Pip and she had a heart defect and today her heart suddenly stopped. She was such a special feline and there will never be another cat like her. In addition to her love for chasing lasers and stealing potato chips right out of your hand, she also loved soaking up the warmth of her Apple products, in particular my Time Capsule and also my MacBook. Please consider our beautiful girl Pip for your Caturday article this week as a memoriam to her. Many thanks and our condolences go out to reader Dustin Hawkins for sharing the photos and back story of Pip with us.

F If there's anything we've noticed at TUAW, it's that cats prefer two types of Macs: either a laptop like the MacBook Air seen above or a Mac mini. Sure, there are peripherals that are favorites, like the warm and friendly AirPort Extreme, but give a cat a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro, and they're sure to be right there on the keyboard between you and the screen. That was the case with Alan Rothberg's cat Rosie, who has an interesting history: This is Rose, or Rosie. I noticed her one day roaming a parking lot looking for food. She was a small, skinny thing and the store owners were looking for a way, "any" way, to get rid of her. I borrowed a trap from our local humane society and was able to get her out of that situation. I occasionally help out our humane society with free computer services, and they were able to take her in for me. Unfortunately, she stayed in the back of her cage and was very anti-social. After about a month of that, I decided to take her home to try to socialize her with our other cats. It worked so well, my wife fell in love with Rosie, and we decided to adopt her. She's become very social and affectionate, to the point, other HS members could not believe it was the same kitty. A happy ending for Rosie. This photo is a pretty common sight when Rosie wants something. She knows that by sitting on my MacBook Air, she'll get my full attention. And, I think you can tell by that determined look, Rosie gets what Rosie wants ;) We're glad to see that the antisocial stray became friends with Alan and his MacBook Air. Perhaps she wants to sit on another type of laptop, though? We'd love to see photos of your favorite feline soaking up the warmth of an Apple product, chasing a Magic Mouse, or just being a general nuisance while you're attempting to work on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone. Please let us know via our feedback page and please remember that your cat photo has to have some sort of connection to Apple or its products. Life is tough for feral kittens, but fortunately they are sometimes rescued by nice people who supply them with lots of love and warm Apple products to sit on. That's the case with Torben, who was rescued by Margaret Martin last fall after she found him in her backyard. Margaret says that "Torben is now a healthy, socialized 4-month-old silver tabby, and he just discovered that the Apple Airport Extreme in my office makes a cozy place for a winter nap." He's also one of the most handsome Caturday "models" we've seen so far. We'd love to see photos of your favorite feline soaking up the warmth of an Apple product, chasing a Magic Mouse, or just being a general nuisance while you're attempting to work on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone. Take a cat and a Mac and put 'em in the same room, and eventually the two will migrate to the same place. Since Macs don't move on their own yet (unlike iPhones), the cat usually does a bit more migration than the Mac... In this case, beautiful MacBert jumped up on top of his human's computer desk and took his rightful place on the MacBook keyboard, as he should. After all, cats DO own everything that they touch. We'd love to see photos of your favorite feline soaking up the warmth of an Apple product, chasing a Magic Mouse, or just being a general nuisance while you're attempting to work on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone. Whether it's laying comfortably in front of a classic slot-loading iMac in 2003 -- presumably there to clean off CDs and DVDs going into the drive -- or getting exercise more recently batting at fish in the Friskies iPad app (below), Matej knows his Apple products and loves 'em. Matej hails from Prague, Czech Republic, hanging out with TUAW reader Juraj. We'd love to see photos of your favorite feline soaking up the warmth of an Apple product, chasing a Magic Mouse, or just being a general nuisance while you're attempting to work on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone. We all know that cats are more intelligent than humans -- I mean, what other animal gets to lay around sleeping all day, gets food handed to it, and really doesn't have to do much of anything to get free housing? Well, Finn (the ginger cat) and Catniss (the grey one) also get a ton of Apple-related toys to play with and sleep on as well. Says owner Scott Jones, "We have two cats that just seem to love all things apple (like their owners) - Finn (ginger) and Catniss (grey) just love to sleep and chew and sleep more on anything that was designed by Jony & Co. They even seem to find the blinking LED on the Apple TV as fun as a laser pointer (well almost)." Two words: spoiled cats. (But then, aren't they all?) We'd love to see photos of your favorite feline soaking up the warmth of an Apple product, chasing a Magic Mouse, or just being a general nuisance while you're attempting to work on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone. Apple-loving cats are like human Mac fans; as time passes, they end up getting upgraded equipment. In 2006, kitten Lulù of Rome, Italy enjoyed warming herself on her owner Federico's iBook. By 2008, she -- and Federico -- had both upgraded to a new MacBook Pro (below). We'd love to see photos of your favorite feline soaking up the warmth of an Apple product, chasing a Magic Mouse, or just being a general nuisance while you're attempting to work on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone. By now, connoisseurs of Caturday have noticed that iPads and felines go together. It's almost like Apple designed the iPad for cats, knowing that they'd be attracted by the bright screen and the response to paw touches. Here we see Oona, a pretty cat owned by a friend of TUAW reader Alan A., working on a new masterpiece while lounging in front of her electronic canvas. While it may look like non-professional art, remember that Jackson Pollock made a career as a famous artist on not much more... We'd love to see photos of your favorite feline soaking up the warmth of an Apple product, chasing a Magic Mouse, or just being a general nuisance while you're attempting to work on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone. • Caturday: Lula doesn't appreciate Jony Ive's work

Lula's gorgeous, she's smart, but she obviously doesn't appreciate Jony Ive's designs. Says owner Rafael Najmanovich: Here is a photo of Lula, our 7 month old kitten. She really likes my retina Macbook Pro. Not just sitting in my keyboard and occasionally restarting my mac but also trying to chew on the edge of the screen and the power cord. If Lula only knew the amount of work John Ivy put in designing this, she'd think twice before treating it like any old cardboard box... From the number of cats we've seen that like to gnaw on Mac and iPad screens (not to mention the occasional iPhone), Ive must have his engineering and design staff infusing the devices with catnip. We'd love to see photos of your favorite feline soaking up the warmth of an Apple product, chasing a Magic Mouse, or just being a general nuisance while you're attempting to work on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone. Yuki is a beautiful 2-year-old white cat whose name, appropriately enough, means "snow" in Japanese. Her human companion Glenn Smith often needs to get work done on this iMac, but Yuki has other ideas: I always look forward to the Caturday pictures on the weekend and thought it is time that I share my precious feline with your readers. This is a photo of my 2 year old cat Yuki (which means snow in Japanese). Generally when I try working on our iMac she will sit in front of the screen, walk around the computer, chase the mouse pointer on screen, rub her whiskas on the side of the iMac and sit on the keyboard. There are times when I have to make font sizes larger so I can see around her when she doesn't want to move out of the way. She just cannot bear to be alone! All very familiar behaviours to other Caturday contributors I am sure! The only way I can pacify her so I can actually get some work done is to place a towel in front of the computer and she will curl up and sleep - very daggy but works a treat everytime! Yuki's a bit large to be an ergonomic wrist rest, but she would make a convenient hand warmer... We'd love to see photos of your favorite feline soaking up the warmth of an Apple product, chasing a Magic Mouse, or just being a general nuisance while you're attempting to work on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone. Some cats just hang out on the furniture provided by their owners, others have nice and cozy pet beds. Pippin, however, has one of the best cat domiciles we've seen so far -- a strawberry slot-loading iMac G3 that's been outfitted with some nice cushions. Pippin's owner, Ian Cobb, named his feline companion after Apple's ill-fated gaming console. There's a box for a non-feline Pippin in this photo as well; see that box marked "Atmark"? Ian also has a nice Mac Portable, what appears to be a PowerBook 170, a Newton MessagePad 2000 (or 2100), and an eMate. So this week, you're not only getting treated to a really cute feline, but also one of the best Apple collections I've seen in a long time. We'd love to see photos of your favorite feline soaking up the warmth of an Apple product, chasing a Magic Mouse, or just being a general nuisance while you're attempting to work on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone. It's starting to get chilly all over the Northern Hemisphere, and tech-savvy cats around the world are seeking out their favorite Mac or accessory for a little warmth. The "old" AirPort Extreme was notorious for running quite hot, making it a favorite for Apple-loving felines. Here, Don Moody's cat Gracie is enjoying the warmth and bandwidth of an AirPort Extreme (I'm sure she's sending cat pictures through her mind-to-WiFi link). Don says "Gracie loves 'soaking up the warmth of an Apple product'. When the weather gets cold, this is one of her favorite spots!" It appears that Eddie thinks that OS X Mavericks looks good enough to lick, or perhaps he's just finished licking the crumbs from between the keys on that Apple Wireless Keyboard. Maybe he's sticking his tongue out at a Windows user that just walked into the room. Whatever the case, Eddie's owner Joe V. just asks one thing -- "that he doesn't lick my screen".
