So what if there hasn't been a new Bloody Roar game for more than 10 years? Gamers dying to make anthropomorphic animals punch and claw each other can at least experience something close, thanks to an animal-themed costume pack coming to Ultra Street Fighter 4. As spotted by Shoryuken on the first day of Capcom Pro Tour Asia's finals event at Singapore-based GameStart 2014, it looks like at least several of the USF4 cast will channel their inner fursona and stride into battle wearing appropriate suits. In concept art shared by fighting game blog Furious, series mainstay/hero Ryu is decked out as a white wolf, boxer Dudley is a bulldog, Gen is a gray goat and Hakan is an octopus. Interestingly, while most of the fighters look like a 50/50 hybrid of human and beast, Cammy retains most of her human features, and only dons fox ears and a tail instead of a full suit. Come on now girl, that's just lazy! No release date or price was announced for the costume pack. [Image: Capcom]

If you're sick of staring at the same Dante or simply pine for the more classic look, feel free to throw some cash at your problem next week. Capcom has announced the alternate DmC: Devil May Cry costumes outed by Japan last week are indeed coming to North America and Europe on January 29 and January 30, respectively. All three costumes will set you back 320 MS Points ($3) on Xbox 360 and PS3 next week, one of which is the classic Devil May Cry 3 look seen above. The other two feature a blond Dante in a blue jacket, and what we can only imagine is Dante's favorite Goth underpass rave ensemble.%Gallery-176987%

The latest slew of DLC costume packs for Dead or Alive 5 includes one awesome thing (above), some normal-lookin' street clothes and then a whole bunch of stuff we'd be embarrassed to describe in public."Kitty Pack," as you might suspect, includes cat ears and corset-ish catsuits for Christie, Helena, Tina and Lisa. The "What a Character" pack adds two maid outfits for Hitomi and Mila that are more of the "Octoberfest Bar maid" variety than the "French House maid" type you might expect, a slinky gown and mask for Lisa, and "bartender britches" for Rig.Lastly, the "Special Set" gives Kasumi and Leifang access to their traditional overalls and panda-bear outfits, respectively, in addition to "fiend" Hayabusa and an even slinkier evening gown for Lisa. Each pack is available now for $4.99/400 MSP, and all three can be purchased together via the "Round 2 Costumes - Full Set" pack, which at the moment is only available on the 360 for 1040 MSP. PlayStation 3 owners looking for a sweet costume discount will have to wait until next week, when the Full Set becomes available for $12.99.%Gallery-168484%

LittleBigPlanet's sackboys lead very busy lives in an extremely large world, meaning they don't always have time to watch the latest movies as they're released in theaters. This is one explanation for the Alice in Wonderland costume pack coming to LittleBigPlanet this week, featuring accessories based on the 2010 Tim Burton film. The pack will include costumes for Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat and the Red Queen, all in their full Burtonized glory. Each costume is available individually, but buying the entire pack gives players Alice in Wonderland stickers as well.

  • Latest UMvC3 costume pack contains mysterious, unexplained Nova outfit

Every time a new costume pack is released for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Capcom explains the often obscure sources for said costumes. The "Viewtiful Strange" pack that came out last Tuesday, for instance, contains a Doctor Strange variant from a 1960s comic-book subplot, among other esoteric digs. There is however one costume without an explanation, one that leaves our interests sufficiently piqued. Nova's new threads (as seen above) legally cannot be expounded upon, according to Capcom Unity, which means that the inspiration for this costume must come from a Marvel production that is currently unannounced. We know that Marvel will be making some sort of announcement during the SXSW Interactive festival in Austin next month, and while we're not willing to say that Nova will be getting his own game or anything, it's not beyond impossible for the two events to be related.

  • Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 gets Weapon Expert costume pack, including Mega Man X

Keep your cool, Mega Man fans -- as previously announced, that version of Mega Man X above still isn't a new character in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Nope, it's just Zero dressed up in a Mega Man costume, one of the new looks seen in the "Weapon Expert" costume pack available now. Elsewhere in the pack, Devil May Cry's Trish gets a new costume for her "Gloria" look, Hawkeye gets a makeover from the time he spent in the Marvel Universe as "Ronin," and Taskmaster also gets a new look, from Udon Entertainment's comic art. Interested players (or anyone who just wants to pretend Mega Man is playable) can grab the pack right now for 320 Microsoft Points, or $3.99 on PSN.

  • Marvel vs. Capcom 3 alternate costumes fated for DLC packs

In two weeks' time, no amount of Marvel cologne is going to be able to mask the odor of Marvel vs. Capcom 3's fighters, whose suits will have been drenched and dried in super juices many times over. It's perhaps welcome news, then, that six of the game's heroes will be due for a costume change on Tuesday, March 1, when the first of the (sure to be many) alternate costume packs will be released on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. The first pack will provide Team Marvel's Thor, Captain American and Iron Man and Team Capcom's Dante, Ryu and Chris Redfield with fresh garments for $5 total. Additionally, Capcom has confirmed that the first Shadow Mode DLC pack will also be available on March 1 -- a good way to break in the new duds. The Jill Valentine and Shuma-Gorath character pack will follow on March 15 for an undisclosed price, according to a leaflet in the Special Edition of the game (which includes a code to download the pair now). Capcom has yet to announce any DLC beyond these three releases over the next four weeks. %Gallery-116741%

  • Resident Evil 5 costume pack suffers a wardrobe malfunction

If you downloaded the new Resident Evil 5 costume pack today expecting the "Heavy Metal" and "Business" costumes, then you might be a bit disappointed. And also a bit dressed in spiky shoulder pads. Instead of the two costumes advertised, the "Costume Pack 1" actually contains the "Fairy Tale" and "Warrior" outfits that were supposed to comprise the "Costume Pack 2" DLC. Surprise! "This issue is known by Capcom," the publisher assures the inappropriately attired gamers affected by the issue, "and we are currently working with Microsoft for a solution." As for tomorrow's PS3 release of the costume pack, Capcom told Joystiq that it was "still verifying" which costumes will be included.

As expected, the first of two Resident Evil 5 expansion episodes, "Lost in Nightmares," has been released today on Xbox Live (tomorrow on PSN) for the unterrifying price of 400 ($5). An additional Costume Pack, also the first of two, has hit the Marketplace as well, for 180 ($2), and joins the free Extra Figures DLC that appeared on Monday. Capcom has also confirmed that the second episode, "Desperate Escape," previously dated for March 3 and 4 on XBLM and PSN, respectively, will also launch at the 400 / $4.99 price point and be joined by Costume Pack 2 (180 / $1.99). Finally, on March 9, Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition will hit retail, combining all of the aforementioned DLC (on the PS3 disc; through vouchers in Xbox 360 copies) with the original game for $50; a not-so discounted bundle for anyone who hasn't picked up the original RE5 (now $30), which was released last March. So, if you're not too interested in piloting air ships and wranglin' chocobos that week, Chris and Sheva have got your back. Will you have theirs? Hmm? %Gallery-78541% Shortcut: Purchase Lost in Nightmares, Costume Pack 1 and/or Resident Evil 5 (full game download) [via Xbox.com]

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition hits retail in March, DLC in February [update]

It looks like Capcom USA was tired of us making fun of the proposed name for the upcoming Resident Evil 5 expansion, "Alternative Edition." The division has chosen a bling-ier title for its stateside release: Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition. Gold Edition will be released as a retail box copy on March 9 for $49.99 as a single Blu-ray disc, including the original game and add-on content, on PS3 and as a DVD with download voucher for Xbox 360. If you already have Resident Evil 5, you'll be able to pick up the first DLC chapter earlier. "Lost in Nightmares" and a custom pack will be available for download on February 17 for Xbox 360 and February 18 for PS3, while the second, unnamed DLC episode will be released March 3 (Xbox 360) and 4th (PS3) alongside a second costume pack. No mention has been made of a possible PC release. Update: Capcom passed along dates for the European release. The PAL DLC release dates are the same as those reported above. However, the Gold Edition retail release will be Friday, March 12. %Gallery-78541%
