You and a friend can step into the shoes of Alpha and Bravo next week, in advance of the March 26 release of Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel. EA will release a downloadable demo on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network "starting March 12" (which means you should expect the XBL demo on March 13).In the demo, two players will "embark on a mission to rescue a kidnapped politician while diffusing an additional hostage situation." We're assuming the two masked gunmen handle the situation with their advanced psychological training and diplomacy.Oh, and because we can't have a post about Army of Two without using it: "bros."

Omerta: City of Gangsters now has a demo available on the US Xbox Live Marketplace. The 1920s Atlantic City bootlegging simulation (developed by the makers of Tropico) arrived on PC and Xbox 360 earlier this month.Unfortunately, especially if you go by Metacritic scores, reviewers of the game haven't been very kind. See if you disagree – and don't forget there's already a PC demo.

  • Sky broadcasts Barcelona Grand Prix testing in 3D, we go take a look

Geeks who are into fast cars and stereoscopic displays must think that watching F1 races in 3D is the bees-knees. However, FIA, the sport's governing body, has often been resistant to new technology -- only adopting HD a few years ago. That's why when the FIA asked Sky to produce a test-broadcast of the practice testing laps in the run up to the Barcelona Grand Prix, the British broadcaster jumped at the chance. Naturally, BSkyB wanted to show off its technical marvel, and so invited us to come and see what it was like. Of course, like the good geeks that we are, our attention was focused on keeping Sky's chief engineer Chris Johns in a corner and needling him with questions. Curious to find out what he said (apart from "please go away," of course)? After the break is where all the cool kids are at.

The single-player demo for God of War: Ascension is available now for all users on the PlayStation Network. There's also a launch trailer out for the game, as seen above. Turns out the pre-divine Kratos is just as popular with the ladies as the fully-powered one was. Oh, and he's plenty angry, too.

Cannon Brawl is dropping off an alpha version, available to download and play for free on PC. The game is a 2D mix of multiplayer action and real-time strategy, in which you control a little zeppelin that can build structures and fire cannons. Unfortunately, this is an early version of the game, so it likely has plenty of bugs, performance issues, and other compatibility problems. But the devs want to get the game in your hands, so if you're in the forgiving mood you can download it starting now.Cannon Brawl has also appeared on Steam Greenlight, and is aiming for the Xbox sometime in the future.

Limits and Demonstrations offers a brief, introspective glimpse into the anomaly of IGF finalist Kentucky Route Zero, via a free download for Windows, Mac and Linux. Developer Cardboard Computer calls Limits and Demonstrations "not exactly a prequel but directly related to some upcoming stuff," along with ties to small details in Act 1 of Kentrucky Route Zero.Limits and Demonstrations is a tour through an experimental museum, featuring work from fictional artist Lula Chamberlain, and demonstrating the more endearing aspects of Kentucky Route Zero's full game: namely the art style, dialogue and vague, psychological creep factor. Viewed as a demo, Cardboard Computer says that if Limits and Demonstrations runs on your PC or Mac, Kentucky Route Zero will too.If you have 10 minutes or so to spare, download Limits and Demonstrations for free right here.

  • These old Nintendo promo videos are a national treasure

A collector of gaming antiquities has provided an incredible public service to the world, by uploading six extremely rare, extremely retro Nintendo corporate promotional tapes to YouTube. The six videos (above and after the break) were originally used as sales pitches to promote various products and live events, such as the Super Game Boy and the 1990 Nintendo World Championships, to retailers and potential venues.Beyond their value as hilarious distractions, however, these blurry, color-smeared glimpses into the past also serve as a reminder of our community's history -- one that must be preserved and cherished, so that our children may one day know how completely ridiculous everything was in the early 90s.Their tiny, adorable faces will look up and ask "Daddy, why are there day-glo pink triangles all over everything in these 'video tapes'?" To which we'll reply, "Hush, sweetie. Eat your gruel before Ag'rathas and his Labor Wardens start our next shift, here in the Salt Mines of Kuu'uultepth, which is in space because this is humanity's bleak future as a conquered people."

Forget that there has been a Rayman Legends demo on the Wii U for over a month now – it's old hat. Ubisoft is planning on releasing another demo, this one exclusive to Wii U. Ubisoft announced the exclusive Wii U demo as a sort of consolation prize to upset fans complaining about the delay and multi-platform announcement."Thanks for all your feedback regarding Rayman Legends in all of its forms. We have heard you and we will continue to listen," Ubisoft wrote on its Facebook page. "We understand your frustration and that you want to get your hands on the game. We are working with the development team to provide you with a new, exclusive demo for the Wii U soon. Stay tuned for more."Rayman Legends was originally announced to be a Wii U exclusive back in August, though obviously that plan has changed. This is the second delay for Rayman Legends, which was originally penciled in for the Wii U launch.

With the delay of Rayman Legends, today's release of Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage would be the Wii U's only retail game in February ... except it's exclusive to the eShop. So it's only kind of the only retail game this month.Things are a bit busier on the 3DS, with the arrival of the Etrian Odyssey IV demo and the Virtual Console release of Mega Man 2, the best Mega Man game.

EA revealed nearly two million people have already downloaded the Dead Space 3 demo, at least 10 percent more than the total demo downloads for Dead Space 2. That's a whole lot of space engineers testing out fresh alien dismemberment to a Phil Collins backdrop.Dead Space 3 pre-order figures are also outdoing those of its predecessor, and that, in addition to today's demo figures, must give the publisher hope the series' third entry can be the one to break 5 million sales. The shooter takes one small step onto North American retail shelves tomorrow, before making one giant leap into Europe on Friday.

If your childhood was/is anything like our own, a good majority of it was probably spent blowing up and/or incinerating action figures that totally had it coming, on account of being found guilty of being the bad guy or belonging to one of our siblings. Valve and NECA's shiny new Team Fortress 2 figures follow a somewhat similar theme, though they typically prefer to be on the giving end, rather than the receiving. Available at Toys 'R' Us, Amazon or directly from Valve's own store, both Demo and Pyro figures measure 7 inches tall, feature 25 points of articulation, include codes for in-game goodies, are individually numbered (1 to 10,000) and cost about $22.%Gallery-177568%

With the multiplayer beta scheduled to end next week, fans only have the above 30-second teaser trailer to watch for the next month in preparation for the game's March 12 release date.Unless you bought the Total Recall remake film on Blu-ray of course, which came with the E3 single-player demo that is exclusive through 3/8/13. While we'd assume those are two different demos by virtue of February and March being two different months, we've contacted Sony to be sure.Update: God of War: Ascension's closed multiplayer beta testing initiative is officially open to all PSN users for the duration of the holiday weekend, Sony has informed us. Get in on that action by clicking here.
