While the full release won't arrive for some time, Apple just released the first iOS 14.5 developer beta today, and one change may be more immediately useful than all the rest. Once installed, the update will allow users to unlock their iPhones via Face ID even while wearing a mask. There is, unfortunately, one major caveat: the feature only works if iPhone's owner is also wearing an Apple Watch.
Apple's 'Time to Walk' stories arrive today for Fitness+ users
Apple’s Fitness+ subscription service is getting its first major new feature today. As was rumored earlier today, “Time to Walk” is a set of stories that play alongside a walking workout initiated from the Apple Watch. Essentially, they’re self-contained podcast episodes exclusive to those with an Apple Watch and Fitness+ subscription; the first four episodes go live today.

Apple officially revealed its new Fitness+ service back in September, but at the time the company wouldn’t offer a launch window more specific than “late 2020”. Well, with just a few weeks left in this awful year, the company has confirmed that the service will go live on December 14th, just in time to help people get a jump on that one pesky New Year’s resolution.
