Hulu’s 'The Handmaid's Tale' renewed for a fourth season
Hulu's dystopian drama The Handmaid's Tale is one of the service's tentpole original series, and June's harrowing tale is set to continue for at least another year. The Disney-owned platform confirmed at the Television Critics Association summer press tour the show will return for a fourth season.
Hulu orders revenge drama pilot from 'Handmaid's Tale' producer
It seems Hulu is interested in telling more stories about women with agency. The streaming service has ordered a pilot for a revenge drama from Warren Littlefield, an executive producer of The Handmaid's Tale. Reprisal is about a woman who seeks vengeance against a gang after she was left for dead, according to Deadline. The Littlefield Company and A+E Studios are behind the new show.
Hulu will offer ad-supported offline content soon
Back in January Hulu hit 17 million subscribers. Now it's sailed past the 20 million mark, and to celebrate, has revealed a raft of upcoming plans for the platform. For a start, it's expanded its slate of original series, confirming the arrival of Mindy Kaling's Four Weddings and a Funeral, Ramy Youssef's Ramy, plus Catch-22 from George Clooney and The First, starring Sean Penn. The Handmaid's Tale has also been renewed for a third season. And for the first time, Hulu will allow some of its content to be saved and played offline -- though that feature will be supported by advertising.
