The latest in a long line of Indie Royale bundles is now live, this time named after the hottest, most miserable season of the year: Summer! The Summer Bundle includes Harvest: Massive Encounter, The Journey Down: Chapter 1, Serious Sam 2, Gundemonium Recollection, GundeadliGne, Hitogata Gappa, Acceleration of Suguri X-Edition and Dino Run SE.Patrons will also receive entrance into the AirMech Steam beta, as well as an Indie Royale in-game pet. Anyone who pays over $8.00 for the bundle will be gifted Pixeljams Volume 1, a chiptune collection of music from Pixeljam's catalogue of work. As with all previous Indie Royale bundles, the price you pay is based on the prices of the transactions that have come before you, so get in there and ruin the bell curve.

The latest bundle of indie-gaming confectionery from the Indie Royale folks is now live over at the usual place, this time championing PixelJunk Eden, Escape Goat, Noitu Love 2: Devolution and Auditorium. Throwing down seven clams or more will also earn you 8 Bit Weapon's new chiptune album, Bits with Byte.By our rough guesstimation, the June Bug Bundle is the 400 trillionth Indie Royale bundle released to date, which means that longtime patrons of the service probably have a rather large notepad file somewhere to keep track of all their bundle business. Thankfully, a new service (the Indie Royale Collection) has launched that not only helps manage your previously purchased bundles, but also lets you track your progress towards earning new rewards, which are applied retroactively (where applicable) upon registering.

A new Indie Royale bundle featuring Osmos, B.U.T.T.O.N., The Shivah and Blueberry Garden has debuted. Unlike past bundles, all of the proceeds from this one don't go to the developers – proceeds go to charities chosen by the developers. In addition to the games, the All-Charity Lightning Pack also tosses in a trio of chiptunes albums should you pony up $7 or more: Level by Disasterpeace, IN1ep by 6955, and FX4 by Jake "virt" Kaufman. Cruise past the break for some video previews of all four games.

Indie Royale has broken out a brand new bundle for the month of May, with five big games for a tiny price. This time around, the great MOBA/RPG mashup Dungeon Defenders is included in the bunch, along with Containment: The Zombie Puzzler (which is of course a zombie puzzler), abstract arcade racer Data Jammers: FastForward, trippy falling game Brainpipe, and the indie space sim sequel Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space. All of these can currently be had for the minimum price of $5.28, but as always that price will fall if anyone comes along and pays above it. There are also a few extras already unlocked, including a couple of original soundtracks, extra tracks for Data Jammers, and two extra games: Dr. Blob's Organism and Soup du Jour. Anyone paying over $7 also gets an album from chiptune band Starscream. In short, that's more games than you have time to play, all for less than you'll pay to see The Avengers this weekend. The bundle's up for sale for the next week.

Indie Royale's Spring Bundle has sprouted six new games, available on the cheep (get it?): Unstoppable Gorg, Depths of Peril, Tobe's Vertical Adventure, Inferno+, Slydris and Ballistic. Buyers who shell out more than $5 will get a chiptune music bonus in the form of Danimal Cannon's Roots album. As usual for Indie Royale bundles, paying more than the minimum brings the price down for future buyers. There's the rest of today and six more days left to buy the Spring Bundle, and the current minimum is hovering around $4.20, which is pretty ridiculous for six entire games.

Indie Royale has posted its latest bundle, and this time it's developer NinjaBee that's getting the spotlight. NinjaBee is probably most known as a developer for Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade service, but this bundle includes PC versions of its biggest games, including the recent Ancients of Ooga puzzle platformer, XBLA classic Cloning Clyde, sandbox builder A Kingdom for Keflings, space station simulator Outpost Kaloki, and a bonus title, the strategy RPG Band of Bugs. That's a solid oeuvre for sure, and at the current bundle price of $3.44 (remember, these indie bundles raise in price over time, or go back down if someone kindly pays over the minimum), it's an excellent deal as well. As is usual with these things, all of the titles are DRM-free, but they're only available for a limited time -- the Ninja Bee bundle will end in just a few days.

Once upon a time we wrote a story about Hard Reset: Extended Edition, a retail version of Flying Wild Hog's downloadable title Hard Reset that includes five new levels, two new maps and a fresh backstory. Then the dragon killed the princess and the handsome prince married the ugly gold-digger. The End.OK, not "the end" -- Flying Wild Hog has announced that Extended Edition is coming to Steam for free for those who already own Hard Reset, and will be available for download in the final week of April or first week of May. Hard Reset is available in the Indie Royale St. Patrick's Day bundle for a few more hours, for those who want Hard Reset: Extended Edition and three other indie titles for less than $5.The End.

  • Indie Royale's St. Patrick's Day bundle is partially blind for now

    03.14.2012

Indie Royale's St. Patrick's Day bundle is semi-blind -- but don't worry, it's more like one of those trips to the eye doctor where you leave wearing giant, ugly, flimsy plastic sunglasses and are told to not look directly at the sun for the afternoon. It gets better, is what we're saying.Indie Royale has opened pre-orders, at a $4 minimum, for four slightly mysterious titles in its St. Patrick's Day bundle, the actual day of which is Saturday, March 17. If you plan on being even a tad sober any time on Saturday, the games are teased as follows:"An explosive FPS with a future-leaning setting," "next up the flagpole is a jaunty Windows and Mac adventure game," "a brainy Steam-enabled Windows and Mac title 'dispensing' RTS action," "an acclaimed satirical platformer, plus a bonus DRM-free Windows RPG overhead shooter from the same creator."Pre-orders and those who pay over the minimum once the bundle is released will get O.S.T.: Original Soundtrack from Daniel Capo.

  • Indie Royale's current bundle is complete in alpha edition

    02.23.2012

Indie Royale's current bundle is an amalgamation of a few popular ideas, including the online fundraiser and, well, the bundle, which has become a beast all of its own. This may sound like a contradiction -- underground developers borrowing mainstream methods -- but in fact it somehow makes this bundle even more indie. The Alpha Collection, offered now through the next week, features three games in alpha mode, and "buying" the bundle is a way of "funding" their continued development while getting access to their current builds. Similar to backing a Kickstarter project, The Alpha Collection has people invest in the potential of the following three games: Towns, 3079 and Wyv and Keep. The low price for the Alpha Collection is hovering slightly above $5, the recommended price is $10 and the "Show Support" price is listed at $20, but of course you can pay any amount above the low price if you believe the future of these games is worth it. As with all Indie Royale bundles, the more you pay, the less the people after you will pay. It's like 360-degree charity.

  • Indie Royale Valentine's Bundle available now, with Lume, Hoard, Zeno Clash and more

    02.10.2012

The Indie Royale website is back at it with a brand new bundle of games for sale, this time scheduled for Valentine's Day. On this one, paying either the minimum price (currently just above $4) or above will net you five different indie titles: The impressive FPS (and IndieCade finalist) Zeno Clash, the excellent and underrated Hoard, the gorgeous adventure title Lume, and top-down puzzle crawler Soulcaster and its sequel. Plus, buyers also get both Hoard DLC packs, and anyone who pays higher than the minimum will pick up the "Music to Play Games by Too" compilation album.Remember, the way the bundle works is that the price goes up as more people buy the bundle, but it drops when people spend more than the minimum (so giving more actually makes it cheaper for everyone, and supports the game's developers as well). Purchased titles are available on both Steam and Desura, and the bundle is on sale through Valentine's Day.

Indie Royale's Valentine's Day bundle makes no promises, unlike some people we know who promised us the moon on a string last February 14, but who showed up three hours late, drunk and with a box half-full of chocolates -- all fruit-filled. You know who you are.Indie Royale is offering its Valentine's Bundle for pre-order at the lowest minimum price, $3.99, but is keeping the games a mystery until the big day itself. If you live life on the edge, don't read the following clues before buying the bundle:"The games offered this time include a fantastical first-person action-adventure game (Steam for PC), an IGF-nominated puzzle adventure title (Steam for PC and Mac, Desura for PC and Linux, DRM-free PC, Mac and Linux download), a 'scorching' single and multiplayer arcade-strategy game (Steam for PC and Mac), and a world premiere on PC for a pair of retro RPG-defense games (Desura for PC, DRM-free PC download)," Indie Royale writes. On its Facebook page it added, "None of these titles have been in previous standalone indie game bundles such as Humble, etcetera!"Pre-orders will receive the Valentine's Bundle the moment it launches, along with One Life Left's "Music to Play Games by Too."

    01.24.2012

Indie Royale is hosting a lightning deal over a span of 100 hours, serving up five indie titles from one niche franchise -- Serious Sam. The Indie Royale lightning deal includes Serious Sam: The Random Encounter, Serious Sam Double D, Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack, The First and Second Encounter and the world premiere of Serious Sam: The Greek Encounter, an 8-bit top-down demake. These indie homages to Serious Sam launched alongside Serious Sam 3: BFE last year, each taking a different approach to revamping the franchise. The Indie Royale lightning deal marks Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack's premiere on PC, previously being a mobile title. As with all Indie Royale deals, the earlier you buy, the cheaper the minimum price -- although people paying more than the minimum can bring down the price for everyone. So don't put down those scissors or those bombs, and run like lightning!

  • Indie Royale unveils four fancy games in the New Year's Bundle

    01.05.2012

Indie Royale has lifted the beautiful silver lid from its New Year's Bundle games -- Nuclear Dawn, Fractal, Max & the Magic Marker and Super Crossfire, the last of which is marked as an Indie Royale exclusive. The New Year's Bundle was released as a mystery earlier this week and was available for blind pre-order at $3.99, with a free copy of George & Jonathan's chiptune album, "Beautiful Lifestyle," for faithful early buyers. Indie Royale bundles increase in price as the sale continues, but paying more than the minimum knocks that price down and gets you a free copy of George & Jonathan's chiptune goodness to boot. There are just under five days left to snag the Indie Royale New Year's Eve Bundle -- and don't judge it for celebrating the new year one week late. We know some of you are still feeling the annual effects of the new year, too.

  • Indie Royale's next bundle available for pre-order, and we have no idea what it is

    01.02.2012

Indie Royale, the new indie bundle that allows you to pay anything above a minimum (which changes depending on what other people pay), is launching a "New Year's Bundle" of PC and Mac games, which you can pre-order now at a minimum price of $3.99. The trick is that you won't know what you're pre-ordering. It's a "blind pre-order," with only descriptions of the available games given. The identity of the games will be revealed sometime later this week. "We first started the blind pre-order for Indie Royale for two reasons," Indie Royale co-founder Simon Carless told Joystiq. "Firstly, we did it because the popularity of Indie Royale was crushing our website when we launched, thanks to the 'ascending price' model - although we've improved our systems a lot since then! And secondly, because the price is variable for the bundle, we found our users were stressed about being in front of a computer when the bundle launched." Also, Carless added, "We find that some people have fun guessing the games in the bundle! More power to them!"

The latest Indie Royale bundle has more than enough holiday cheer to warm the deepest, darkest cockles of your heart-meat. The "Xmas Bundle" nets its purchasers six games for the price of ... well, a street vendor hot dog -- there's the remastered Blackwell Trilogy (which is technically three games, right?), the Source-powered Dino D-Day, the topical sim The Oil Blue and the effortlessly delightful Eets. The whole bundle's currently available (at the time of this writing) for $3.80 -- a price which will increase as time goes on, but decrease if purchasers pay more than the minimum amount. Act fast! Or, for our sakes, act charitable.

For its third offering, Indie Royale is bundling together five new games because ... hey, we're all buying stuff right now and everyone loves cheap bundles of good games. A bit of quantity and quality, you know? And the Indie Royale folks must know what they're doing -- Gamasutra reports the first two bundles have moved over 350,000 games across 70,000 total bundle sales. Within The Really Big Bundle, you'll be able to grab headliner Really Big Sky and a pair of Zeboyd games (from the guys bringing back Penny Arcade Adventures) namely Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII. Rounding out the final two columns in this pentagon of parsimony is Runespell: Overture and Eufloria.

  • Indie Royale offers NightSky, Ben and Dan, and more for a small, but increasing price

We don't mean to put any pressure on you, but the new Indie Royale bundle -- featuring NightSky and both Ben & Dan adventure games, along with Scoregasm and Fate of the World, is getting more expensive by the second. It just went up a penny as we were typing this. As with previous Indie Royale bundles, the price rises as people purchase it (and decreases as people pay over the average), so while it's an incredible deal right now (NightSky alone is normally $10, and the bundle's under $3.50 as we write), who knows if that will still hold by the end of, say, this sentence? But no pressure.
