YouTube is doubling down on its Coachella partnership -- it will stream live performances from both weekends for the first time this year. As has been the case in recent years, the service will stream the festival's first weekend, which takes place April 12th-14th. This time around, YouTube will host a "curated live experience" on the second weekend, including select performances, artist vignettes and behind-the-scenes footage.

Whatever you think of Jaden Smith's music, you have to give him credit for finding new ways to capture listeners' attention. The budding rapper has debuted SYRE: The Electric Album, a reinterpretation of his album from last year, solely through Instagram -- as of this writing, you can't go to your favorite streaming music service to check it out. The format is a gimmick, of course, but it also lets the young star sell his work (his profile now looks like a giant SYRE ad) and find out how many plays he's getting with each track.

The Google Home Mini is a great, low-cost option for putting Assistant all over your house. Like your smartphone, though, its built-in speaker isn't the type of thing you'd want to use for any sort of critical listening. In a pinch it might be better than nothing, though. If you feel like cranking the volume on its diminutive driver, however, consider the following warning: Depending on what you're listening to via Google Play Music, the smart speaker could crash.

If you were wondering why the next Vampire Weekend album is taking so long, now you have your answer. It seems lead singer Ezra Koenig has been busy working on an anime with his celeb pals. We heard rumblings about it in the past (from Jude Law and Koenig) and now we're getting the first official trailer, directly from Netflix. The show, dubbed Neo Yokio, hits the streaming service on 22 September.

If you were determined to make a political protest through art, and had the luxuries of both fame and modern technology, what would you do? For Shia LaBeouf, it's simple: start an ambitious livestreaming project. The actor (along with Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner) just launched He Will Not Divide Us, a project outside New York City's Museum of the Moving Image that will protest Donald Trump by livestreaming public voices for the next 4 years. (Clearly, Shia's not banking on Trump getting a second term.) You're encouraged to recite the project's namesake phrase in a show of solidarity and resistance. It's getting an extra celebrity endorsement thanks to Jaden Smith, who has participated in some of the early streaming.
