There's nothing like new gadgets to step up your spring swagger and indeed, we've got a couple of fresh faces in this month's buyer's guide to help shake off those winter blues. After spending some time with LG's G Flex2, we grew fond of its design, performance and display, making it a strong choice for your next handset. Meanwhile, if you're in the market for a mobile sound system, Ultimate Ears stepped up the volume and specs with its new Megaboom speaker, offering a 100-foot Bluetooth range and up to 20 hours of battery life. Don't worry, if you're still looking for more suggestions, we'll be flush in the coming months after we've had a chance to review all the stuff announced at MWC and GDC this week. In the meantime, there's still plenty of gear to be had and we've always got a selection of top picks at the ready in our complete buyer's guide.

Quirky as it is, we quite like LG's G Flex2 for its pretty design, performance, camera and quick charging battery. The banana-shaped phone is now on sale in the US, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Germany and the U.K. You can pre-order at Sprint for $504, or $21 a month for two years (on contract), at Carphone Warehouse in the UK SIM-free for £530 ($820) and in Germany for €649 ($740). That's a lot cheaper than the $940 of the original G Flex, and the new model has a bleeding-edge Snapdragon 810 CPU, 5.5-inch curved P-OLED Full HD display and 3,000mAh, 40-minute charging time battery. Pre-orders should pop up soon at other US carriers and it'll arrive to the rest of the world after MWC 2015, which starts next week.

Yesterday, we sat down with LG and WakaWaka, which makes a solar-powered portable charger that drives a buy-one-give-one initiative -- similar to what Toms does with its shoes. LG Mobile's Lee talked about the G Flex 2 and showed us some of the new features on the flagship smartphone, such as its curved screen. For his part, WakaWaka's co-founder and CEO, Camille van Gestel, touched on what his company is trying to do with the WakaWaka Power+, like how it's already helped hundreds of thousands of people across the world who don't have access to electricity.
