March Madness is dominating the TV schedule, but a number of shows are back with new episodes or premieres. The Hobbit comes to Blu-ray (in 3D, but not 48fps... yet) this week, and Continuum has its season finale. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament The seedings are set and hopefully your brackets are all filled in. March Madness is upon us and over the next three weekends we'll see who emerges victorious from the field of 68 teams. This year you'll be able to catch all the action on PCs and mobile devices with free apps, however if you don't have a cable or satellite subscription, your selection of games will be very limited. Check out the full game schedule here. (All week, CBS / TBS / TNT / TruTV) Gizmodo: The Gadget Testers Fellow tech blog Gizmodo will be premiering an episode of its show after the season finale of Top Gear tonight, which happens to feature our friend Veronica Belmont as one of the hosts. Check out a trailer after the break to see what the show is about, but it's probably like whatever you're already thinking. (March 18th, BBC America. 10:20PM Chupacabra vs. the Alamo 'nuff said. This week is surprisingly 3D heavy, with basketball tournament action on ESPN and a pair of movies (Life of Pi and Rise of the Guardians) on Blu-ray, but a blast from the past has caught our eye. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. Australian Grand Prix Formula 1 is finally back, and for the first time in the US, on NBC Sports. We'll have to wait and see if their presentation can match or surpass what we've been used to from Fox / Speed, but a just-released broadcast schedule that shows every race airing live is a great start. (March 17th, NBC Sports Network, 1:30AM) Who Framed Roger Rabbit For its 25th anniversary this pioneering live action / animated combo is coming to Blu-ray. Besides the movie starring Bob Hoskins as toon-hating detective Eddie Valiant, it also packs three restored Roger Rabbit shorts -- our nostalgia will not allow us to pass on this one. We begin this week for a vital PSA aimed at the fan of ABC's Zero Hour -- that show has been cancelled after airing just three episodes. In other news, fresh iterations of SimCity and Tomb Raider arrive this week for some old-but-new-again gaming. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. Wreck-It Ralph In addition to Academy Award winning animated short Paperman, Wreck-It Ralph promises enough classic videogame references to alight nostalgia in pretty much anyone. Ben-o-vision certified, this story of an 8-bit villain who wants to be a hero instead seems a good fit for kids and adults alike. ($27.99 on Amazon) King of the Nerds TBS' reality competition wraps up this week with one contestant ready to be named King of the Nerds. We haven't been keeping up with the series around these parts but reviews have been shockingly positive and it's already been renewed for a second season. (March 14th, TBS, 10PM) Saturday Night Live Sure some (ok, most) would agree the show has fallen off a bit, but if there's one thing you can count on to revitalize SNL, it's an episode featuring Justin Timberlake. Hopefully we can count on yet another Lonely Island collabo alongside followups to classic skits like Come On Down to Liquorville, but who knows. (March 16th, NBC, 11:29PM)

Among the usual returning shows we have a few all new entries, including two new Comedy Central series as well as ABC's Red Widow conspiracy drama. For something we truly have not seen on TV before, Syfy is tossing in Robot Combat League, while ESPN does its part with a couple of 3D broadcasts planned. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. Robot Combat League If you were an avid Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots player or a huge fan of the movie Real Steel, Syfy's latest reality / game show is probably made for you. Robot Combat League is hosted by wrestler Chris Jericho and features competitors strapped into suits that translate their movements to eight-foot-tall robot avatars that actually do the fighting. Not sold? Take a peek now with not only a trailer embedded after the break, but also the first two episodes in their entirety (also viewable on the site in a larger window here). It's different, to say the least, and there's $100,000 on the line to make things interesting. (February 26th, Syfy, 10PM) Psych One of our favorite shows returns for its seventh season as Shawn and Gus continue to operate their fake psychic detective agency. As always, we expect a number of nostalgic 80s and 90s throwbacks, complete with guest stars from the era. The show has managed to operate in a basic cable niche in a way network shows like Community don't get the chance to, although if you're not into its particular comedic flavor, it's unlikely to change gears at this point. Check out a trailer after the break. (February 27th, USA, 10PM) MLS A new season of MLS kicks off this weekend, and for US soccer fans all 20 matches will be aired ESPN channels, with 18 of them on Sundays for a more consistent -- and potentially subbing in for that other football -- schedule. Notable this season is that this is the first time the soccer league will be in 3D, with plans for seven live broadcasts, plus an eighth that will be tape delayed. There are also plans for international matches, the All-Star game and the playoffs, dates and times TBD. The Portland Timbers vs. New York Red Bulls game this weekend will be the first in 3D, check the schedule for the rest. (March 3rd, ESPN 2 / ESPN 3D, 7:30PM)

After its run on the internet and then cable TV, Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome is coming to Blu-ray, along with the second season of Game of Thrones and Monsters Inc. Sports fans have NASCAR racing to (try to) replace football, while movie buffs can keep an eye out for the Academy Awards on Sunday. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. Top Gun 3D After a short run in theaters, Top Gun 3D is coming home on Blu-ray. We've had the chance to watch it already and came away with (mostly) good things to say about the conversion. The 3D conversion is well done and particularly in the action scenes, as one watches F-14s zooming through the air it enhanced the feeling of speed and depth. Now, it's not all good news as we did notice a slightly different color tint on the 3D version, not necessarily bad, but different. Overall we liked it, so if you're looking for another 3D viewing option and are a fan of the original, it's worthwhile, but probably not required viewing. If you're not a 3D fan, this probably won't change your opinion. ($19.96 on Amazon) Daytona 500 NASCAR is back and in full effect. If you like to see cars turning left then this is the series for you, and in a fresh twist, Danica Patrick will debut as the first female polesitter in race history. This race will also see the new Gen6 cars that are designed to not only be safer and faster, but also more closely resemble production automobiles. Whether you're watching the race end to end (February 24th, Fox, 12PM)

Regular season pro hoops action takes this weekend off for the All-Star Game, while NHL action is in full swing. Reality TV fans have new season of long running series Survivor and The Amazing Race to look forward to, and a new Bond is coming home on Blu-ray. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. NBA All-Star Weekend Celebs, up and coming players, and the league's top stars (as voted by fans and coaches) collide this weekend in Houston for the 2013 NBA All-Star Game. As always, there's some conflict about who is most qualified to play, and the usual controversy about whether or not the dunk contest will be any good this year. We'll be keeping an eye on the Rising Stars game Friday night to see which first or second year players are the best, and the second half of the ASG itself to see if Dwyane Wade hits Kobe in the face (again). (All weekend, ESPN / TNT) Skyfall James Bond is back, in a nicely shot entry in the series. This flick has a slightly different angle as Bond, M and the rest of the agents find themselves under attack directly, but as usual Daniel Craig is up to the task. ($19.99 on Amazon) State of the Union Clear your Tuesday night schedule on several networks, as the President takes the stage for the first State of the Union Address of his second term in office. Regardless of your affiliation or even interest in politics, it does provide a good opportunity to compare/contrast the quality of each network's feed. (February 12th, 9PM)

It's finally over -- pro football is done for the year. In its absence we have a number of big returning shows to look forward to, including favorites like Community and The Walking Dead. Also of note, Syfy will air Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome this weekend, a show that already premiered months ago on YouTube (click here to watch it now), while Dead Space 3 arrives on your gaming system of choice. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. Community October 19th is Thursday night. Correct your calendars as necessary. (See video after the break if you require an explanation) (February 7th/October 19th, NBC, 8PM The Walking Dead Season three of AMC's juggernaut has been rolling along well so far, we'll join our favorite group of zombie apocalypse survivors for the second half of the story Sunday night -- see the trailer after the break. Also worth remembering for fans is that the Talking Dead recap show has been extended to an hour and will air immediately after the episode at 10PM. (February 10th, AMC, 9PM) Top Gear The best part about season 19? BBC and BBC America have narrowed the window between when episodes air in the UK and the US, so we'll finally get to enjoy content while it's still fresh. Check out BBC America tonight for the season premiere. (February 4th, BBC America, 9PM)

There's a football game this week, in case you hadn't heard -- but that's not all. Netflix is debuting the series that it claims will change internet TV, and there's also a few other new options to keep an eye out for. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. The Americans Add another basic cable series to your watchlist this week, as FX debuts The Americans. Based in 1981, it focuses on a family of Soviet spies living in the US during the Cold War. The show already has a two year commitment to air in the UK, so it's unlikely to face a quick hook -- feel free to settle in. (FX, January 30th, 10PM) Super Bowl XLVII It's the Super Bowl. All other Sunday night programing has been pushed aside, so you'll either be huddled around the flatscreen watching 49ers/Ravens or... we're not sure what. (CBS, February 3rd, 6:30PM) House of Cards Netflix's next venture into the world of original programming begins Friday morning, when it will make the entire first season of its series House of Cards available for streaming. Starring Kevin Spacey, it has all the trademarks of a well produced cable series, it's just not on cable -- it's on the internet. (Netflix, February 1st)

We'll take a break from football -- true addicts can give the Pro Bowl and Senior Bowl a look -- for one weekend before the big game, but there are other options. That includes hockey now, of course, but also a few premiering and returning shows. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. The Following If you need a few more connections in your next six degrees of Kevin Bacon game, tune in to The Following, which pits Bacon as an FBI agent chasing down serial killer (and leader of other killers) James Purefoy. It's been heavily promoted, but we'll find out tonight if the high profile cast and production add up to a show worth watching -- it didn't work so well for ABC's Last Resort, which is airing its series finale this week. (Fox, January 21st, 9PM) Spartacus: War of the Damned The last season of Starz' hit Spartacus: War of the Damned kicks off Friday night, and should bring along all the associated violence we've come to expect from the series. As Marcus Crassus and Julius Caesar join the fight things are only going to get more interesting, if you've somehow missed out on the show till now you can check out a trailer embedded after the break. The special effects have never surpassed the level of most made-for-Syfy movies, but somehow it manages to become more than the sum of its parts. (Starz, January 25th, 9PM) The Cave The next adventure game from Double Fine, The Cave hits a slew of platforms this week. Available for download on Steam, PSN, Xbox Live and Wii U eShop, it lets player's pick their own squad of adventures and explore -- what else -- a cave. Somehow that area will include an amusement park, castle and even a ready to launch nuke, but we're most interested to see how it integrates the Wii U GamePad for camera and character switching. ($14.99, multiple platforms / dates)

As we return from CES (and dive headlong into the North American International Auto Show) we've got a number of our favorite TV shows returning from break. While sci fi fans wave good-bye to one high profile series they can welcome another this week, and sports fans are just making it until the conference championship games on Sunday. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. Continuum Often recommended in our comments during its Canadian run on Showcase last year, this sci fi show finally starts airing in the US tonight. You can hit Wikipedia for a summary of the plot (it involves time travel) or check out the trailer after the break, but until we watch it's going to be hard to explain. For now, just know it comes highly (and often) recommended by our readers, so it's probably worth a shot. (Syfy, January 14th, 9PM) Fringe Fox's laws of science bending / universe and time stream jumping sci fi show finally ends its run this week. Unlike Continuum we've been watching every episode, but again, due to the presence of time travel as a plot device, your guess is as good as ours as to what's going on at the moment. (Fox, January 18th, 8PM) Archer Our favorite cartoon spy is back on FX this week. If you don't know about Archer, you should immediately lock yourself away with nothing but a Netflix subscription to get familiar with the one of the more drunken and incompetent contributors to national security that there ever could be. We're definitely in the Danger Zone. (FX, January 17th, 10PM)

Of course, there's also the National Championship game tonight, and NFL playoffs action this weekend and, some day soon -- NHL hockey. This week we say goodbye to 2012, and after the New Year's Eve festivities tonight we welcome not only college football bowl games and pro football playoffs, but also the return of many of our regularly scheduled TV shows. EHD podcast fave Justified also makes an appearance this week as season three comes to Blu-ray. Portlandia fans should be ready to put a bird on it, and all those who've remained Downton Abbey spoiler free can check out the series' return Sunday night. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. Looper This time travel flick stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis playing a hitman that suddenly has the inconvenience of having both his present and future self existing at once, to the dismay of his employers. As with all movies that put time travel at their center it quickly gets more complicated, but there are some decent special effects scenes that make it well worth checking out in HD. ($19.99 on Amazon) College Football Bowls and bowls and bowls. While we're still awaiting the championship game, there are several big time games scattered throughout the week, plus a bevy of smaller bowls to keep things interesting. Check after the break for the dates, times and teams, and don't skip over the college football championship that will be played this week as Sam Houston State and North Dakota State vie for the FCS (aka DI-AA) crown Over/Under This USA show wasn't picked up for a series, but its two hour pilot will air Friday night. Its plot follows a fallen day trader / degenerate gambler that starts a high-end booking business. We highlight it because fans of Breaking Bad (and, we guess, Revolution, if it has fans) might want to check out Giancarlo Esposito popping up in a supporting role. (USA, January 4th, 10PM)

Even though most of us are enjoying a holiday break and our favorite TV shows are too, there's still a few things worth checking out this week. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. The Room Touted as "one of the worst films ever made," Tommy Wiseau's The Room is one of the few movies being released on Blu-ray this week. Whether you consider it as an intentional comedy or one of the most poorly crafted efforts at a drama of all time, it is not a movie you should watch...unless you love bad movies. Check out the trailer after the break for a taste, the full HD experience (according to an interview, the filmmaker shot it entirely both in film and digitally in HD because he couldn't make a decision) will cost more than thirty bucks. ($31.99 on Amazon) Bowl Games You name it, there's a bowl sponsored by it. If your college football team hasn't played in a bowl yet, there's a good chance they will this week, and it will be on ESPN, check the listings below for the list of games and times. Of course, until the BCS games start these matchups don't have a lot of pull, but if you just want to see your favorite team one more time, these will have to do.

Nearly every show still on is preparing for a winter or season break, but there's still plenty of football to watch including the season finale of Monday Night Football... on a Saturday. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. The League Just as our fantasy football seasons are coming to an end, so is this season of FX's comedy series. Whether or not this year's season finale lives up to last year's probably depends on how much Rafi plays into it, but we'll be watching The League to see who wins the Shiva all the same. (December 20th, FX, 10:30 & 11PM) 49ers/Seahawks Sunday Night Football Wait, is this an exciting late season game in the NFC West? Apparently so, since young QBs Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson have shown this season that they're more than deserving of the "must-see" tag. After beating the Patriots and destroying the Buffalo Bills they come head to head, it should be an excellent matchup to watch while wrapping gifts Sunday night. (December 23rd, NBC, 8:20PM)

It's that time of year, when our favorite TV shows go one winter break. There's a sudden flood of fall finales, so while most will be back in a few weeks/months, don't be surprised when your DVR is looking a little thin next week. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. Syfy 20th Anniversary Special Love it or hate it, the network formerly known as Sci Fi celebrates 20 years on the air tonight. The stars from some of its most loved shows will be stopping by to talk shop and celebrate with nods to shows like FarScape and Battlestar Galactica, as well as newer ones like Alphas and Haven and a peek at upcoming content like the platform-spanning Defiance. (December 10th, Syfy, 9PM) College football The bowl season kicks off this weekend with the New Mexico bowl and Idaho Potato Bowl, but that's not all of the college football there is. Also keep an eye out for the Division II and III championships Friday night / Saturday afternoon if you'd like to get a preview of what a college football playoff is like.

We're finally ready to see the latest Batman flick on Blu-ray, and while a lack of pro hockey is leaving a hole in TV schedules, there a few other viewing options. Pixar is also sending out Finding Nemo and Up on Blu-ray 3D, while special events like the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and VGAs fill out the slate. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. The Dark Knight Rises The final movie in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy comes home this week. As with every blockbuster flick in 2012, beyond the multiple types of releases there's also a deep second screen experience available, flashing extra information for fans to see while and after they watch the movie. Will it make Bane easier to understand? We can't say for sure, but this flick will probably still continue the series' trend of smashing Blu-ray sales records. ($18.99 on Amazon) VGA Ten Somehow, the Video Game awards have made it ten years, and they're celebrating it later this week on Spike TV. As part of the festivities, previous hosts like Snoop, Neil Patrick Harris and Zachary Levi will be returning to the stage. As always, there will also be promos for several new games aired during the event, check after the break for an early peek at clips for Gears of War: Judgement and The Last of Us. It's that time friends, the weekend when we say goodbye to the college football regular season. While there's plenty of NBA, college basketball, college hockey, and NHL action to tide us over, it just won't be the same until the bowls get into full swing. TNT is bringing back a couple of shows from fall hiatus, and we've got a few Blu-ray 3D titles hitting shelves. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. The Walking Dead After an often lackluster second season (until the finale), AMC's hit show has been firing on all cylinders since then and we're actually disappointed that we're wrapping up the first half of season three so soon. Between goings-on at the jail and in town, there's sure to be plenty of action, people choosing sides and, oh yeah, zombies. (AMC, December 2nd, 9PM) College Football This weekend the college football regular season comes to a close, with several conference championships and a couple of other rivalry games that will play into bowl selections. We'll find out who will be joining Notre Dame in the Championship Game once the SEC title has been awarded, and where everyone else is going Sunday night. Whether you love the current system or love to hate it, cherish it, since after next year we're going to a playoff and fans will have to be angry about a slightly different set of circumstances. MLS Cup While much of the news is about David Beckham's departure from MLS after this weekend, there's still a game to be played. LA takes on Houston Saturday afternoon, so if you prefer your football played mostly with one's feet, you know where to tune in. (ESPN, December 1st, 4:30PM)

It's time for Thanksgiving, but whether or not you're planning on overeating this weekend, there's plenty of reasons to chill on the couch for a while. Football season is heating up, both college and pro, and throughout the week most of our primetime TV schedule remains intact. Of course, we will say goodbye to iCarly, and tune in for the final race of the F1 season.Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. Tarantino XX While many high profile releases have either already gone on sale or are waiting until after the Black Friday rush, fans of Quentin Tarantino may be interested in this Lionsgate/Miramax collaboration. Collecting eight of the director's movies into one box Tarantino XX includes special packaging and artwork as well as two extra discs with all new bonus materials. There's a trailer after the break, if you somehow haven't seen Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Kill Bill Vol. 2, Death Proof and Inglourious Basterds yet. ($69.99 on Amazon) Brazilian F1 GP The Formula One season wraps up this weekend at Interlagos, and the driver's championship is still in doubt. Whether you're watching to see Vettel take his third series victory in a row, hoping for Alonso to snatch the crown away or waiting to see if the drivers on the move next year like Hamilton, Schumacher or Perez snatches one last victory under their current banner, it should be an exciting one. (November 25th, 11AM, Speed TV) The Walking Dead - The Video Game While the current season of the AMC TV show still has a couple of episodes left before break, Telltale is dropping the finale of its episodic adventure series this week. According to Joystiq the story has improved as it's gone along, snag the digital download on your platform of choice (Xbox Live, PSN, PC, Mac, iOS) to find out how the story of Lee and Clementine ends. While the fall TV premiere season may have cooled off (who's excited for the season premiere of Whitney? No one? Ok.) there's a slew of videogames and movies arriving for our home viewing pleasure. That includes several blockbuster titles, plus hits from the archives as varied as Lawrence of Arabia and Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames. Call of Duty: Black Ops II It's fall, there's a new Call of Duty game. Killstreaks, multiplayer, elite, etc. A new tweak this time around is the ability to live stream matches via Youtube and other platforms, but we suspect you've already decided whether or not this year's update is a must-buy for you. Joystiq's review should be live soon of course, if you need a final go-ahead. ($59.99 on Amazon) Friends: the Complete Series Fans of the series can finally get every single episode in high definition (it was recorded on film and has been airing in HD in syndication for a while, so you should have some idea of the quality) this week. The better news is that while Friends: The Complete Series carries a $300 MSRP, the actual price for all 296 episodes is down to $149 if you're willing to dive in. ($149.99 on Amazon) Doctor Who: Series Seven, Part 1 While what could be* the final go-round of Matt Smith as the Doctor has not yet concluded, you can get the first half of the season on Blu-ray this week. Companions Amy and Rory are still along for the ride which includes encounters with (of course) the Daleks, and more. At five episodes, it may be worth holding off for the season to finish, but at least it's pretty cheap. (Update: Despite hinting at plans to leave the role, there is not yet confirmation about Matt Smith's Who plans past this season.) ($19.99 on Amazon)
