This week's video updates had a pretty interesting inclusion. The above video follows a mom and how much she loves that DS game, Brain Age 2. Along with this video, there are a bunch of other things you might want to watch. Head past the break for the full list.

For people longing to play new demos via the Nintendo Channel, the frustration continues. All we saw on the channel today was the return of two demos that we never really missed in the first place (we're looking at you, Carnival Games and Crosswords DS Wordsearch).Nintendo also extended the availability dates on three of the existing demos, probably because offering three new ones would have been too satisfying (/bitter). The good news is, you have another week to try out Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 and Contra 4 if you haven't done so already.Click past the break to see yet another underwhelming list of demos.

  • Hell's Kitchen trailer is a total donkey, plus other Nintendo Channel vids

Another Monday means more videos on the Nintendo Channel, and is there anything worth watching? Well, not really. We did appreciate the Hell's Kitchen Info Video, though, if only so that we could mock it. Who knows how the game will actually play, as a Cooking Mama with actual recipes might be kind of fun. (Even if this video doesn't make it look fun.) But what's the point of using the Hell's Kitchen license if Chef Ramsey isn't going to be his total cad self? They definitely toned down Ramsey's personality for the game, or at least it appears that way from this trailer. Spouting lines like, "Not good so far," and, "I need you to really -- seriously -- up your game," are laughable coming from the chef's mouth. "Don't even touch another thing in this kitchen" is the worst it gets, apparently. Wow, color us scared. To see the entire list of videos on the Nintendo Channel this week, just click past the break.

With Trauma Center 2 and Contra 4 on the Nintendo Channel's demos list, you may wonder why exactly we're unimpressed. Perhaps it's because there's nothing new offered this week, unless you count the reappearance of certain demos on the list as "new." We don't.To see why we're thoroughly uninspired, check past the break for the full list of "been there, done that" demos.

While we do love all different kinds of trailers and videos to spaz up our normally dull internet lives, we really appreciate when we come away with something useful after watching one. That's why we love developer's diaries, especially ones that involve the beloved Square Enix, and especially when said Squeenix game is WiiWare's My Life as a King. With the exception of the almost monotonous voice-over work, we found the video and the tidbits of info offered interesting. Note, though, that we're still a little bitter about the "content updates," which is the developers' euphemism for "Square Enix maiming our wallets for stuff that should have been included in the first place." Nothing else too special hit the video channel, aside from some previews of upcoming games. Here's the full list, though, for you to judge: Developer's Voice - FFCC: My Life as a King (embedded above) SPOGS Racing Info Video Get Wii Fit with Alyson: Strength Training We Love Golf! It's Monday again, which means it's time to check out what the Nintendo Channel has in store for DS demos. Like last week, we don't get much in the way of new stuff to play on our DS, but it's not about quantity here, it's about quality. And, this week's lone demo has that in spades: Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2

A new video of "Get Wii Fit with Alyson" was added to the Nintendo Channel, this time featuring the dancer and friends trying out the yoga exercises. If you think watching someone else do yoga might be exciting, you'd be wrong. The most entertaining part is when Alyson says about the virtual male trainer, "I think I'll call it Brad. You're rad, Brad." Ironically, that's also that part that made us start sobbing, wondering when it would end.You can also watch "info" videos that promote Alone in the Dark, Order Up!, Magnetica Twist, and a number of other games. The highlight for us was watching Wall-E being adorable in the Wall-E TV Spot, but that's not to say it made us want to buy the Wii title. It did make us want to go and see Wall-E, though. Here's the full list of the new videos on the Nintendo Channel, for you to check out at your leisure: Get Wii Fit with Alyson: Yoga Magnetica Twist Info Video Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Hall of Fame Induction Cabela's Trophy Bucks Info Video Alone in the Dark Info Video Wall-E TV Spot Order Up! The most noteworthy new video added to the Nintendo Channel this week is the first installment of the new longform Wii Fit ad/exercise program "Get Wii Fit with Alyson." In this introductory video, a group of young Disney Channel-ready actors looks on as Alyson undergoes her first Wii Fit Body Test. If you've yet to pick up Wii Fit and would like to see it judging people, watch this. A new edition of "Get Fit with Alyson" is also available on the website.Other new videos include promos for Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Rock Band, footage of today's WiiWare game, and a bit about the new controls in NCAA Football '09. Step onto the Balance Board, do a stretch or two, and enjoy the videos on the Nintendo Channel! It's Monday, again. Usually, we'd frown and mope about all day, what with it being the beginning of another week of tirelessly blogging and all, but Mondays are turning into more of a celebration for us. We get new gaming content every week on this day!Nintendo has updated the Everyone's Nintendo Channel on the Wii to include some sweet demos this week, so if you're in the mood for something new to play, you'll find it here. Aside from last week's demos, you'll also find several new ones. Head on past the break for the list of new demos available.

This week was a bit of a let down in terms of demos -- then again, it's hard to follow up the excitement of Arkanoid. It seems like Nintendo didn't even try, though. While we were interested in the demo the first time around, Cake Mania 2 already had its heyday. Then, there's Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, which we can't help but be underwhelmed by. Last and maybe least, the only other new demo is from Crosswords DS, which now offers the wordsearch game in addition to crossword puzzles. We guess beggars can't be choosers.Since things always look better in list form, check out the full list of demos available for download after the break.

Ever since the Nintendo Channel was released, we felt the videos on offer did a good job of promoting whichever product was the focal point of any specific video. Whether it's just a video explaining the Balance Board or something else, it's a good way for Nintendo to keep the public informed on what's coming down the pipes for Wii.Has the Nintendo Channel ever sold you on something, though? Have you ever watched a video on there, only to immediately crave the title in question? Has the Nintendo Channel sold you on any games yet? If so, which games and why?

Have you ever recommended a game on the Nintendo Channel? If so, you'll know that you have to answer a series of inquiries about the title. Whether the game is more "casual" or "hardcore," for example, is one of the burning questions your Wii will ask you regarding the software you wish to rate. While such arbitrary categorizing is useless for the most part, Nintendo has compiled the data into some nifty pie charts. This way, you'll know exactly how hardcore and manly the game you're playing is. You can also find some interesting usage data about each game. For example, did you know that Wii Sports has been played for over twenty-four million hours? Now that's a lot of Wii Sports. As far as we know, this accounts for only North American data, and even lessening that scope, only people who've agreed to share their information (remember that disclaimer you said "yes" or "no" to after downloading the channel?). With that said, such usage statistics can't be considered accurate. Now that we've given you a caveat, go ahead and check out the stats to your little heart's content. To view them, just click on the information for the game you're curious about and scroll down until you find the pertinent information.

The Nintendo Channel has received its weekly infusion of new videos. Sure, the weekly updates usually feature more videos than this, and the Samba de Amigo trailer is actually one we've already seen, but there's interesting new stuff contained within. Especially if you want to see what Block Breaker Deluxe looks like without having to buy the thing. Aside from the WiiWare videos, this week's update is entirely musical. The aforementioned Samba de Amigo trailer is still enjoyable, and two other trailers focus on upcoming Guitar Hero games: the new DS iteration and the Aerosmith version. • New Nintendo Channel video goes On Tour

We've gotten a little developer insight into Guitar Hero: On Tour before, but a new video on the Nintendo Channel delves even more into the brains of the Vicarious Visions team. If you want to know things like how the idea for a handheld Guitar Hero came about (besides the fact that Karthik Bala thinks there are no good portable rhythm games), or were curious about the decision to use a DS peripheral with only four buttons, this video will answer all your burning questions. The developers seem more than happy with their final product, so hopefully On Tour lives up to everything they're promising. In any case, playing the game while whitewater rafting seems like a bad idea. The best part of it all is that we've ever-so-kindly put the video right here for your viewing pleasure. So, don't even bother firing up that Wii of yours and just check out the video above. %Gallery-19362%

  • DS Fanboy poll: Demos: do you dabble?

The Wii's Nintendo Channel, then. It's enjoyed a somewhat shaky start if you ask us, particularly where DS demos are concerned. Although we love occasionally receiving bite-size portions of games such as Arkanoid, most demos are ... well, to be frank, they're old. Not just regular old, either, but Jesus and his pet triceratops trekking across the ravaged plains of Pangaea old.The situation is especially grim in Europe, where Tetris DS (original release date: April 2006) has just joined a list that includes (amongst others) the ancient likes of Big Brain Academy, Brain Training, Mario Kart DS, 42 All-Time Classics, and Sight Training. Needless to say, we've only downloaded a small handful of games since the service debuted. To us, a demo of Brain Training is about as useful as a plasticine climbing frame. Then again, maybe we're being overly critical, grumbly bastards. Maybe some of you good people actually get quite a lot of use out of the service. So we thought we'd throw this issue open to you, our beloved readers, and ask: how often do you use the Nintendo Channel demos? %Poll-15495%

  • This just in: We might have imported a paddle controller for nothing

var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/nintendo/U_S_Arkanoid_demo_has_no_paddle_controller_support'; Grab a box of Kleenex or, if that's not an option, your shirt's sleeve. You see, we just went to check out the new DS demos available for download on the Nintendo Channel and found only one: Arkanoid DS. No, no, that's not the sad part at all. The sad part is what happened when we downloaded the demo. Upon getting it onto our DS and booting the demo up, we prepared for a wonderful time with our imported paddle controller, as it's been sitting on our work space's desk for a couple weeks now while we anticipated the release of Arkanoid DS and Space Invaders Extreme. But, after booting up the demo, we found the title only supports two control schemes: stylus and d-pad. Talk about d'oh!What will this mean for the final build of the game? Will it also not include support for the paddle controller? It looks like that will be the case, but what about Space Invaders Extreme? Should we expect the same fate for that title?%Gallery-19376%%Gallery-14613%

There's only one new demo available on the Wii's Nintendo Channel, but it's a title we've been wanting to try for a long time. If you guessed Space Invaders Extreme, well, we wish. It is the next best thing that Taito and Square Enix have to offer, though: Arkanoid DS. Should you happen to be unfamiliar with Arkanoid, we have to ask -- where have you been the last twenty years? In all seriousness, we're sure you've encountered this Taito classic in some form or other, which involves breaking blocks pong-style. We have our DS-Fanboy-branded scientific lab monkeys trying out the demo as we speak, so we'll be sure to deliver some impressions soon for those of you without Wiis. The other games available are essentially the same from last week. Here they are in list form: Brain Age 2 Brain Age Flash Focus Crosswords DS Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Worms: Open Warfare 2 High School Musical: Makin' the Cut! The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor Arkanoid DS %Gallery-19376%
