You're probably going to get Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops anyways, but if for some crazy reason you're still on the fence, Konami has offered one of the cooler pre-order bonuses I've seen in quite some time. Pre-order the game at Gamestop and you'll get a case for your system for free. Not just any case, though. A pretty spiffy-looking silver case with the image of Snake giving a salute. This is some classy stuff, and is sure to be as eye-catching as the $500 Signature Edition PSPs.[Via Gamespot]

  • Wii preorder list at Game Crazy

Go Nintendo has a list of purported Wii titles available for preorder from Game Crazy, and the fight over accuracy is in full swing. One commenter already blasted it as a fake, and another claims to be the source and says that many of the titles are placeholders only -- and the prices seem to be as well (I need my Wii Sports for less than $50!). But fake or not, the list is still enough to ratchet up some Wii excitement -- particularly regarding Sadness. From the comments at Go Nintendo, it seems the veil of utter secrecy surrounding the game's publisher remains firmly in place ... but we recommend studying the list itself. As a lineup, it doesn't seem too far off, so the cries that it's as fake as an Elmyr painting may be misdirection. But then again, maybe the fake cries of fakery -- uh. Right. So, there's a list. And it may or may not be fake. Is it wrong to admit that I would probably play Duck Hunt until my hands cried out in protest? Ah, a return to the pure simplicity of blasting away waterfowl while an annoying dog laughs at your aim. Good times.

  • FYE is taking preorders for the Wii?

Apparently, by way of a forum poster, FYE is already taking preorders for the Wii. Now, if you're one of the people who think that the system will have shortages come launch, then maybe preordering from a store such as FYE is a smart move, however there is the chance that the store will not have your system come launch day. Sure, they'll take your money, but there's no guarantee evident from this poster's experience that the management assured him/her their system would be available on launch day. Also, $50 down? Can anyone confirm if that is the minimum amount needed to put down? Can anyone confirm FYE is even doing this?[Via NeoGAF]

  • BestBuy.com wants your Wii gaming loot now

Got some money you feel like letting a giant corporation -- one with a lackluster record when it comes to gaming -- have in exchange for ... well, their word? Big box behemoth Best Buy's online counterpart would be just thrilled to take your $49.99 per game in exchange for them holding a copy of the mass produced merch when it's released. One can make the case for pre-ordering and reserving consoles -- despite how badly gaming retailers FUBARed their 360 allocations last year -- but software? C'mon! With the exception of Red Steel, those aren't even launch titles! Nintendo's even said Brawl won't be out until "after the turn of the year." Sure, BestBuy.com looks a little sleazy, but if folks are willing to part with their loot for little more than the promise of something that hasn't been dated or priced, who can blame them?
