You'll find the full list of this week's releases for the European PlayStation Network after the jump. Honestly, though, if you've chosen to put down that copy of Uncharted 2 in order to check out Mushroom Wars or Uno, we don't really think we can associate with you any longer. • Mushroom Wars begin Oct. 15 on PSN, $10 enlistment cost

Creat Studios, which has done several PSN titles at this point, will unleash Mushroom Wars on the PS3 this Thursday, October 15. The PixelJunk Monsters-looking RTS has players controlling adorable armies that will slaughter each other in that endless pursuit for control of land, with mushroom bases being the staging ground for the next assault. Some may say Mushroom Wars' premise and cutesy art don't mix, but after watching the Critter Crunch creatures feed each other through rainbow vomit, we don't know if there is a line anymore between cute and disturbing.%Gallery-64654%

Look, we're not going to waste your time. A lot of new content for the PSN landed in Europe today, but only one piece of that content is a PSP Mini titled Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam. The rest of the game developing world might as well give up, because Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam exists, and only costs four pounds. How is anyone supposed to compete with that? We hope you've been regularly exercising your ocular muscles -- they'll need to be pretty beefy to make it through this weeks European PSN update. There's a smattering of stuff that's been added for the PS3, the most notable of which being Watchmen costumes in LittleBigPlanet, but the star of this week's show is the PSP Go. Check out the list after the jump for a full list of downloadable titles now available for the platform. If a PSN Update could be a classified as a zombie invasion, consider this humble paragraph the red door keeping the horde at bay. Once you click past the break, be prepared for an update the likes of which you've never seen. It's big, it's scary and it's going to eat your brains ... in a good way. • PSN Thursday: More free Batman DLC, Broken Steel

    09.24.2009

The highlight in this week's PSN Update is that The Bats is back with more free DLC. Also, for Fallout 3 owners not planning to trade up to the "game of the year edition," the single most important piece of DLC for the game, Broken Steel, is now available from the PSN store for $10. For those who don't know, Broken Steel takes away "the ending" of the game and allows the (anti-)hero of the Capital Wasteland to continue their journey with an increased level cap. Check out the full update after the break -- and, sadly, no Trine. Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list: (Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.)

There's some nice content in this week's PSN update -- namely, the demo for Lost Planet 2 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and a whole slew of discounted tracks for Guitar Hero: World Tour. Still, we can't shake the feeling that we've somehow been cheated. Maybe it's because Japan got another Square Enix-developed PSOne Original last night, while the rest of the world got Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. Here's a hint: There's a pretty high chance of sour grapes as well. Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list: (Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.)

  • PSN Thursday: Trying to find Trine, but happy in Arkham

Sorry, North America, the Europeans may be trying Trine, but the game isn't coming out this week. There's always the new free content for Arkham Asylum ... there, there, doesn't that just help make the Trine pain melt away? No? Well, there's the picture search game Interpol and the classic Final Fantasy Tactics, along with plenty of other content that may be of interest. Check it all out after the break. We've been Trine really hard to come up with a clever statement for this week's European PSN releases, but we've come up short. Our usual Command of the English language has failed us -- a fact which will keep us up all through the Insane Night.... Also, Bomberman Ultra is out. • PSN Thursday: In time with Turtles, Silent Hill and George Takei

Oh, my! Although the release of Turtles in Time and Silent Hill on PSN this week is certainly noteworthy, it's the appearance of George Takei in PAIN that takes the cake. The original Star Trek star will be at your disposal to shoot from a canon and ... seriously, why would you want to hurt George Takei? He's awesome! The Andy Dick hurtable PAIN DLC character from a couple weeks back was a far more understandable option. Check out the rest of the update after the break. We've been intrigued by Firmware 3.00's new dynamic theme functionality, but have been hesitant to actually spend any money on tricking out our menu's background. Fortunately, this week's European PSN update not only delivers the LittleBigPlanet dynamic theme, but also includes a free Wipeout HD dynamic theme -- which would be perfect for us, if we lived in Europe. You lucky jerks! Europe gets everything cool first. There's plenty of playable offerings in this week's lineup as well -- a puzzle/adventure game titled Interpol: The Trail of Dr. Chaos, demos for Fat Princess, LittleBigPlanet, Katamari Forever and FIFA 10, the first batch of content for Guitar Hero 5, and the long overdue addition of George Takei in Pain. (Seriously.) Check out the entire list after the jump! Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list: (Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.)

  • PSN Thursday: Capcom's bundles of fun

    09.03.2009

Sure, there's a new episode of Qore this week (which takes a long look at Uncharted 2), but there's something calling us to the Capcom "super pack." A bundle of eight games for $50: some great, some good ... a couple "meh." Normally we wouldn't consider buying a couple of the titles individually, but something about them being lumped together seems to diminish that feeling -- it's weird marketing voodoo. PSP's Patapon is also available at $15, which is three dollars less than picking up a used copy down at the pawn shop. Check out the rest of the update after the break. Was it worth the wait? Actually, this week's PSN update is rather substantial, offering up The Legend of Han Tao (don't be fooled by its cheesy name, it's not that bad) and several demos worth checking out, including WET getting wild at the top of the list. Let's not overlook the classics either, as PS1's Tomb Raider 2 and SimCity 2000 are both available for $6. There's plenty more content to check out after the break. Today sees the release of two new PSN titles with a simplicity of purpose that we find and heartwarming -- Smash Cars and Battle Tanks. No need for high-minded prose or character development here, folks. Give us vehicles running into each other really fast, and we will be satisfied. Also new this week is the totally free Batman: Arkham Asylum "Play as Joker" DLC, a batch of Crash Commando DLC (accompanied by a price cut for the full version of the game), demos for NHL 10 and F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn, and more content for Disgaea 3 than our minds can currently comprehend. Seriously, we're going to be contemplating the uses of an "Action Prinny" for the rest of the day. Finally! You can stop your complaining as the moment you've been waiting for has arrived. Andy Dick is a playable character in PAIN! (Seriously!) To commemorate the release of this much-anticipated add-on, we're going to compile a list of Andy Dick's best jokes. Ready? ...... Okay, we're done. Veeeedjaahs! Getchya vidjeeahs heeeaah! Unsurprisingly, a veritable cornucopia of promotional material for PS3 and PSP titles was unleashed upon GamesCom 2009 attendees -- and now, thanks to the magic of the internet, they can be yours as well. Trailers and gameplay footage for a few big titles make up a majority of this week's PSN Euro update -- but there's also a demo for WET in there, too. Which is great if you be trying to get your Dushku on. Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list: (Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.)

    08.13.2009

There's too much violence in this week's PSN Thursday, so we've nerfed where necessary. For example, in the above image: that's Spider-Man giving Ryu a knuckle kiss, while Wolverine does an airplane impression and Iron Man practices The Supremes' "Stop in the Name of Love." There's a lot of add-on content in this update for LittleBigPlanet, PAIN, Cross Edge and Dynasty Warriors 6, as well. There's not much else ... oh wait, there's a theme for Lingerie Football League. (Yeah, that got your attention.) Check out the full update after the break. Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list: (Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.)

Are you ready to be "taken for a ride?" You really don't have a choice in the matter -- Marvel vs. Capcom 2 landed on the European PSN today, pulling any who dare to boot up their PS3s into her slavering, ever-addictive maw. Then again, if you're in the market for a bit of edutainment, then LittleBigPlanet's "History Pack" sounds like it'd be right up your alley. Or, maybe you just want to incorporate some bizarre MMORPG microtransaction elements into your Madden NFL 10 experience -- you're set there, too. Man, what an all-inclusive PSN update! • PSN Thursday: Quinceañera for Qore

    08.06.2009

Sure, a quinceañera is supposed to be after 15 years -- but this is the internet, Qore making 15 episodes is almost the same accomplishment. Far more exciting, though, is the demo for The Batman's adventure in Arkham Asylum. Yes, it is the game that'll make you forget every Batman game that may have scarred your childhood. There's also an expansion pack for the bug-infested tower-defense game of Savage Moon. That and much, much more after the break.
