This week's PlayStation Store update features a host of games ... you can pre-order! Downloadable PS3 and PS4 exclusives CounterSpy – launching August 19 – and Hohokum – coming August 12 – are both available to pre-purchase ($14.99 each) today. Pre-orders for PS3 and PS4 versions of popular PC titles Rogue Legacy – arriving July 29 for $16.99 – and The Swapper – recently delayed to August 5 for $19.99 – are also available. Plus members can enjoy a 20 percent discount on advanced orders of each title. As for actual releases, the PlayStation 4 welcomes Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty today. The game, a "re-crafted take" on Abe's Oddysee from the original PlayStation, is available for $29.99. PSN also features a slew of discounts on superhero games. Injustice: Gods Among Us (PS3, PS4), for example, is down to $27.99 or a staggering $8.40 for Plus members. Never has punching Lex Luthor in his dumb, bald head been so cheap! The sale includes everything from Batman: Arkham Origins ($27.99, $8.40 for Plus members) to Lego Marvel Super Heroes (PS4) ($34.99, $10.50 for Plus members). • PSN Tuesday: Fight the weird in Abyss Odyssey and Crimsonland

Today's PlayStation Store update promises to cover our screens with "literally hundreds of aliens, giants spiders, mutant lizards and more." That sort of thing hasn't happened since we installed demonic beta firmware, so it should feel just like old times if we download Crimsonland, an omni-directional beast-blasting shooter for PlayStation 4. Meanwhile, the developers of Zeno Clash and Rock of Ages bring a new side-scrolling fighting game to the PS3. Abyss Odyssey is a curiously drawn adventure through procedurally generated levels, in which players can not only punch and kick their enemies, but possess them like puppets. The PlayStation Vita gets One Piece Unlimited World Red, another game based of the energetic anime series, while the store as a whole gets several new discounts and pre-order opportunities. You can now call dibs on Far Cry 4's "Gold Edition," for instance, which grants the season pass and other goodies in addition to the PS3 and PS4 game. Far Cry 4 is one of many prominent pre-orders coming to the PlayStation Store over the coming months.

This week's PSN Tuesday is out of this world, headlined by classic adventure game Another World 20th Anniversary Edition on PS4, PS3 and Vita as a Cross-Buy for $8. In other tri-platform Cross-Buy news, there's cheesy puzzle game Mousecraft for $15. The Wolf Among Us Episode 5 is out today on PS3 for $5 – a screaming deal, if we may say so (our review certainly does). Up for pre-order is the Destiny Digital Guardian Edition for PS3 or PS4 ($90), and Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty for PS4 ($30). With today's update, PS3 also gets Le Tour de France – Season 2014, One Piece Unlimited World Red and Sacra Terra: Kiss of Death. For one week, PS Plus members can get DC Universe Online: The Hand of Fate for $4.90, DC Universe Online: War of the Light Part 1 for $4.90, Another World for $7.20, and the PlayStation Plus pack for Blacklight Retribution for free. Everyone can snag that DC Universe Online content for $7 apiece during the sale this week, along with a lineup of DLC for Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag, Canabalt for $1.50, Kung Fu Rabbit for $2.50, PS2 Classic Stella Deus for $4 and Breakquest: Extra Evolution – Minis for $1.50. The PlayStation Store is packed with pre-orders and releases this week, headlined by the launch of Valiant Hearts: The Great War on PS4 and PS3, and BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma and Farming Simulator 14 on Vita. Sniper Elite 3 is up for pre-order on PS4, while Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn is available for pre-order on PS3. Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is out now for PS3 and PS4, while Vita gets Atelier Rorona Plus with 3 DLCs, XBlaze Code: Embryo, Z-Run and End of Serenity. That last one is also out for PSP today. We can't speak for all of these games, but Valiant Hearts is truly a breathtaking and brilliant game about the people and heroes of war. [Image: Ubisoft]

This week's PlayStation Store update submits a handful of new games, crowned by EA Sports UFC for PlayStation 4. There's a demo available already, paired with a fighting primer from EA that should get you into tip-top shape (for putting your tips on top of the right shapes). The store also houses a new console version of Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack, and cuts two Ratchet & Clank games, Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time, down to $10 each. Those two make for a good distraction while you wait for the PS4 remake of the original game. Meanwhile, PlayStation Plus subscribers get Terraria for free on Vita, and Shadow of the Colossus and Ico both drop to $5 a pop on PS3. If their steady reduction in price is a secret countdown to The Last Guardian, then we're almost there! [Image: SCEA]

Gather ye 'round and steel your nerves, for this week's PSN Store update contains a supernatural tale of murder and vengeance. Murdered: Soul Suspect has come to Sony's digital storefront for PS3 and PS4. Don't worry too much: PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate and 1,001 Spikes are available to lift your spirits if things get too serious. Even better, both are Cross-Buy games, so those with both a PS4 and Vita get extra bang for their buck. The PS4 also gets Worms Battlegrounds and War Thunder, while the PS3 will get the Drakengard 3: Sisters Prologue Bundle and Don Bradman Cricket. Lastly, Vita owners can chase perfection in Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection, or raise the perfect pet in PS Vita Pets. Need some recommendations? While opinions are split on Soul Suspect, you can't go wrong with dragon potty humor. Take a look at our Drakengard 3 stream to see what we mean. [Image: Square Enix]

Meanwhile, Vita gets Lemmings Touch, Mind Zero, Monster Monpiece, The Sly Collection PS Vita and Fort Defense & Fort Defense North Menace. PS Plus members get Limbo on Vita and the Battlefield 4 Timed Trial on PS3. We gave Watch Dogs a spin on PS4 and found it to be ... magical, from a certain point of view. [Image: Ubisoft]

Sparkle 2 is out for Vita and PS4 as a Cross-Buy, and Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga is this week's PS2 Classic. There's also a lineup of PS1 Imports playable on PS3 and PSP (plus one also on Vita, Dragon Beat Legend of Pinball). It's a quieter week on PSN, with just two new games each for PS3 and Vita. Starting with the portable, Borderlands 2 gets a standalone release ($40) after featuring in last week's Vita 2000 bundle, and Soul Sacrifice Delta has a few freebies in a limited edition bundle ($36). As for the PS3 new releases, there's Episode 3 of The Walking Dead Season 2 ($5, or part of $20 season pass) and the slightly belated Serious Sam 3: BFE ($20, or $15 with Plus). Also, JRPG fans may be tempted by a new Tales bundle that combines Graces f with Xillia ($60). Finally, some bits and bobs to round up: Skullgirls Encore on PS3 is the latest Plus freebie, Dishonored is permanently price reduced to $20, and the PS Blog has all the latest sales and Plus discounts. 05.07.2014

Good morning, sports friends, and welcome to this week's PSN rundown. Starting on PS4, there's baseball with MLB 14: The Show (eventually) at $60, followed by stickball in PS Plus game Stick it to the Man ($10 regular). Then, get ready for flameball in Bound by Flame ($50, and it hits retail later this week), spaceballs in Titan Attacks ($12 Cross-Buy with PS3 and Vita), and finally some good old-fashioned sportsball in Sportsfriends. The local multiplayer sportsfest is $15 Cross-Buy with PS3, but if you want the Cross-Buy feature you have to buy it on PS3. Moving onto PS3, in addition to Sportsfriends, Bound by Flame ($40) and Titan Attacks, there's Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi for $34 and the All-in DLC pack for F1 Race Stars ($8). Also, Plus members get Pro Evo 2014 as an Instant Game Collection freebie. Oh, and not forgetting Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, and that's confirmed as a PS2 Classic. The sportiness continues on Vita with Football Manager Classic 2014 ($40), and Mahjong Royal Towers & Mahjong World Contest Bundle ($8) - Majohong is a sport, right? Handheld owners can also grab Titan Attacks, God of War Collection ($30) and Broken Sword 5 ($17). In summary: Sports! And some other stuff. [Image: Die Gut Fabrik]

Happy PSN Tuesday! This week on PS4 we get Octodad: Dadliest Catch ($15), Putty Squad ($25) and Cel Damage HD ($10). Even though Octodad is a new indie game on a Sony console, it's not free for Plus members – and the developers at Young Horses put a lot of thought into that development. Cel Damage HD is also available on PS3 and Vita, while Putty Squad is also on Vita. The PS3 lineup includes Defense Technica and SoulCalibur Lost Swords (that one's free). On Vita, there's The Walking Dead Season 2: Episode 1, Demon Gaze and Starlight Inception. PS Plus members this week get PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD free on Vita. Whee! [Image: Young Horses]

  • PSN Store Update: Final Fantasy 14, Trials Fusion, FIFA World Cup

    04.16.2014

It's football, fantasy, and FMX in this week's line-up of PlayStation Store additions for North America, starting with the full launch of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn. PS4 players can hook up with the subscription MMO for $40, or $60 if they fancy some in-game items from the Collector's Edition. You can also transfer a PS3 copy across to PS4 - Amazon has the PS3 version going for $25. Next it's FMX: RedLynx's next attempt to break your controllers is Trials Fusion, and it's the first in the series to arrive on PlayStation. The PS4 game - also available on Xbox One, 360, and PC - adds freestyle tricks to the trademark mix of motocross and puzzle-platforming. The regular game is $20 but if you're wheelie keen for the upcoming DLC, a Deluxe Edition is $40 and comes with the season pass. Speaking of puzzles, the PS4 also gets a few brainteasers this week. Pure Chess and Backgammon Blitz are $8 each - you can get a game-pack stuffed Deluxe Edition of Pure Chess for $15 - and finally, That Trivia Game will set you back That Ten Dollars. Onto to PS3, and football - the rounder, kickier kind. The catchily titled 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is only on PS3 and Xbox 360, and you can score it as a $60 download on the former. Meanwhile, Beyond: Two Souls has been out for a while, but it's also now on PSN as a $60 download. Don't forget, this week's PS Plus freebie is the new Castle of Illusion, and that comes bundled with the Genesis original as a nostalgic bonus. Finally, the Vita has plenty of new releases including Conception 2 ($40, also out on 3DS) and Cross-Buy portable versions of Dead Nation ($8) and Ethan: Meteor Hunter ($10). For the full list of new releases, sales, and Plus discounts, head over to the PlayStation Blog. [Image: Ubisoft]

    04.09.2014

This week's PSN update brings PlayStation systems the the smallest of people in their smallest versions, courtesy of the newly released Lego: The Hobbit. It's out at retailers for PS4, PS3, and Vita, but if you'd prefer a download version it's also on the PlayStation Store. That'll set you back $60 on PS4, $50 on PS3 and $30 on Vita, so if you're after the smaller of prices, King Oddball at $7 might pick your fancy. The physics-based puzzler has an Angry Birds flavor, except it has a floating rock head who chucks smaller rocks around with his bizarrely long tongue. Oh and he has a crown on his head. It's been out on Vita for a little while as well as iOS, Android, and a few other platforms, but this is its debut on PS4. PS4 also has the new Director's Cut of Strike Suit Zero for $20, while the PS3 makes do with a Sonic Unleashed download for the same price. If you're after a more palatable vintage, Persona 4 is this week's PS2 Classic re-release, meaning you can get it on PS3 for $10. Finally, Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark is the latest PS Plus freebie for subscribers, and Episode 3 of Telltale's The Wolf Among Us is available to PS3 owners, priced at $5. [Image: Atlus]

This week's PSN update includes Fez for PS4, PS3 and Vita (Cross-Buy and Cross-Save style) for $13, Call of Duty: Ghosts Gold Edition for $60, and Fez on Vita. Did we mention Fez on Vita? Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition hits PS3, PS4 and Vita today for $60, and Deception 4 Blood Ties hits PS3 and Vita, $60 on PS3 and $40 on Vita. PS3 sees The Witch and the Hundred Knights for $50, and Vita gets Destiny of Spirits for free. Pre-orders for PS3 game BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma, $45, are live today as well. In the US, Vita now has the Hulu Plus and Redbox apps, while PS4s worldwide get MLB.TV Premium. In the Spring Fever sale, Plus members can snag Fez on any Sony platform for $9.75, plus some cheaper BioShock games and DLC.

    02.25.2014

The PlayStation Store updated today with new games across every platform, led by the launches of Thief and Basement Crawl on PS4. Thief joins another new release in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 on PS3 this week. PS3 owners can pick up The Batman Bundle, which includes Batman: Arkham Origins and the Batman: The Dark Knight Returns animated film as well as the Tales of Symphonia Chronicles bundle that comprises both Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. Rounding out this week's PS3 additions is Magus and Pac-Man Museum, the latter being a $20 pack of games spanning the yellow gobbler's series. Vita owners only get one new game this week: Mahjong 2 World Contest, as well as PSOne Classic Herc's Adventures, also available on PS3 and PSP. Though Vita owners can now download the Crackle app to watch movies and TV shows, the marquee media streaming addition this week is the WWE Network app on PS3 and PS4. [Image: Square Enix]

    02.18.2014

The PlayStation Store updates later today, adding download versions of retail games Earth Defense Force 2025 and Rayman Legends PS4. On the download-only side it's a busy week, with three new releases and three restored classics to sink time into. Leading the new releases is a game with plenty of retro about it: We gave Capcom's Strider resurrection four stars in our review, lauding the PS4 and PS3 game's "absorbing fusion of action and platforming." If sci-fi ninjas aren't your bag, the PS3's Forest Legends: The Call of Love offers some lighter puzzling, and Vita indie Gunslugs brings dynamically generated run-and-gunning to the mix. As for the classics, you can choose from fan favorite PSOne platformer Tomba! 2, the PSOne version of Mr Driller, and the divisive PS2 outing of Neo Contra. If you've come this far and you're still shrugging your shoulders, head back to the top for the first ever PS Plus TV spot. [Image: Capcom]

Payday 2 is the free game on PS Plus this week, and there are a multitude of deals to consider like Tiny Brains for $10, Beyond Good & Evil HD for $5 and Earth Defense 2017 Portable for $10.

    02.04.2014

Outlast is out on PS4 in today's PSN update, alongside PS3 games Dustforce, Castlestorm Complete Edition, Adam's Venture Chronicles, Truck Racer and Furmins + Stardrone Extreme Bundle. Outlast, you'll remember (unless you blocked the memory to save your psyche), is the horror game from Red Barrels that places players inside a corrupt insane asylum with the broader task of discovering why everyone there is so grossly homicidal. It's $20 on PSN, but free for Plus members. A bevy of PS3 pre-orders are live now as well: Dark Souls 2, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Tales of Symphonia Chronicles and Call of Duty: Ghosts' first DLC pack, Onslaught. That last one is pre-order-able for PS4 as well. Vita gets Dustforce, King Oddball and Surge Deluxe today. See the full lineup on the PlayStation Blog. [Image: Red Barrels]
