When it comes to villainy in DC Universe Online, we don't often get a chance to see what the other side is like here on One Shots. As we find out today from our regular contributor, Redwense, life isn't too terribly bad when you're on the other side. In fact, it can actually be pretty swanky, as he notes -- both in-character and out: "And then Doctor Moxie felt it... a sudden urge to play pool. But alas, still adjusting to her new-found superpowers, she accidentally crushed the cue stick in her iron grip and shattered the table with her ice breath. Doctor Moxie faded back into the shadows, alone and ashamed. Nobody would play with her, anyway. So she plotted her rise as the next ruler of the known galaxy." Out of character, he adds: "I have to hand it to the villains of DC Universe Online -- they know how to lend some personality to their safe houses. I was disappointed at the recycling of interiors, but I began to appreciate the little details that went into the general design of the areas, even if rough around the edges and needing some extra polish. Let's hope the developers continue to flesh out the world and the activities within it. (Maybe we can have that sadistic game of pool to determine who gets shot in the head?)" If you'd like to share screenshots of your character -- with an in or out of character note -- we'd love to see them! Just email your image to us here at oneshots@massively.com along with your name, the name of the game, and a description of what we're seeing. We'll post it out here and give you the credit! %Gallery-112285%

When it comes to feeling particularly heroic or villainous in a video game, several people really enjoy the crazy powers available to players in DC Universe Online. Speaking as someone who also plays a fire tank in the game, I must say that the power in the above image is definitely one of my personal favorites. However, this is One Shots, which is all about our readers' contributions, such as today's note and image from site regular, Redwense. He writes in: "There are those moments in video games that can make one giddy with delight, as the avatar under one's control performs something fun and unexpected. Summoning a burning meteorite and hurling it from great heights at an unsuspecting populace beneath my blood-stained leather boots? Yes, one of many super-villain moments. Doctor Moxie was just... warming up." Do you have screenshots of your favorite game that you haven't sent in to us yet? If so, why are you holding back? You should gather those up and send them to us here at oneshots@massively.com. Be sure to include your name, the name of the game, and a description of what we're seeing. We can always use more MMO images to show off! %Gallery-112285%

MMO players certainly are a passionate bunch. We crave rich worlds with a certain balance of immersion, play, and other various factors to make our experience enjoyable. That's why when we find a world that fits all our expectations, we love to latch on and tell the world about why we think that particular MMO is great. Today's Lord of the Rings Online image and note comes to us from regular contributor, Redwense, who has found such a world in Turbine's game. Since his note is a bit long, we'll say that you can tell us why your favorite MMO rocks your socks by sending in a screenshot, a note, and your name to us here at oneshots@massively.com. And now, on with Redwense's letter -- be sure to check out the rest of it behind the break! "I would just like to say that I found the 'new' design of Archet quite engaging. The woman in the window invites players to figuratively 'look up' and enjoy the little details that have gone into Turbine's rendition of Middle-earth. (Speaking of 'looking up,' I still find the skies of the Lord of the Rings Online very epic.) The 'old' Archet felt lifeless and static, but now I can somehow feel the hustle and bustle of a small community of villagers that is uncertain of the future. The revamped early introduction quest featuring Frodo and Strider (Hobbit prologue) especially helped with the transition." %Gallery-85937%

When it comes to spending quality time together, there's something about sweaty adventurers and cold ales. It's a match made in fantasy heaven! That's why we're never surprised when adventurers and ale get combined with silly tricks of prowess, like the one featured in today's Lord of the Rings Online screenshot from regular contributor Redwense. He captured this moment of blurry, drunken bravado and passed it along with the following note: "Gaenry Marshal knew that he would wake up the next day with more than a hangover." "'Bullroarer's Challenge' is a Spring Festival event devised by the Hobbits of the Shire in order to commemorate Bandobras 'Bullroarer' Took, Hero of the Battle of Greenfields. It involves downing a tankard of 'Bullroarer's Brew,' a very potent beer, before making it across a fence to the other side... As if making it across the fence wasn't difficult enough!" From little details to big scenery shots, we love to see what you're doing in your favorite MMO. However, we need you to send in those One Shots screens to keep us going! If you'd like to be a part of the fun, just snap a screenshot and drop it into an email to us at oneshots AT massively.com. Be sure to include your name, the name of the game, and a description of what we're seeing. We'll post them here for everyone to enjoy and give you the credit! %Gallery-85937%

Players definitely love the picturesque vistas of Lord of the Rings Online if its frequent appearance on One Shots is any indication. Apparently one of our regular contributors, Redwense, couldn't resist the allure of those storied lands either, as we find him reporting back from Middle-earth this time with a thoughtful (and somewhat funny) note about how this screenshot came to be. As the note is long, we've included the bulk of it behind the break -- and will note here that if you'd like to tell us about your travels, you can email your images and tales to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game, and a brief description. That said, on we go with Redwense's missive! "The Lord of the Rings Online is one of the few games that has made me stop in awe of the world design, especially when I least expect it. A wary step into unexplored territory, followed by a casual movement of the camera..." %Gallery-85937%

When it comes to Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, superheroes may have the option of having day jobs, but they never really quit being super-powered. Thankfully, that can be really handy when your everyday office building gets invaded! Today, we have a great City of Heroes screenshot for you from occasional One Shots contributor, Redwense, who also decided to send along a short story about what's going on in this action-packed screenshot. So, we'll note here that if you'd like to send in a screen, just email it to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game, and a description -- or story -- of your own! With that, we'll turn today's column over to Redwense. Be sure to read the rest after the break! The Council was once again up to their dastardly deeds in yet another office building-this one belonging to a prominent law firm, despite its identical layout to another one (which also happened to be infested by vile villains!) on Talos Island. And once again, the director of Paragon Secret Intelligence Service and heroine from Great Britain, 'Lady Caliber', finds herself in the midst of blood-thirsty werewolves and super-powered chaos... %Gallery-85937%

One of the things we love to get from readers -- aside from great One Shots -- is little stories written about the screenshots in question. As a bunch of writers and MMO fans, the double-awesome of role-playing combined with creative writing sets our hearts a-flutter. As an example, this short, yet entertaining Star Trek Online tale comes to us from occasional One Shots contributor, Redwense. Remember if you'd like to take part in the fun, email your screenshots and stories to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name and the name of the game. On that note, here's his report from the front lines of Star Trek Online. Be sure to read the rest after the break! In Club 47, someone asked me how it was like to be in the chair of the USS Hallimere. He said I was a hero. %Gallery-85937% %Gallery-9798%

Every so often we hear back from interstellar traveler and occasional One Shots contributor, Redwense, who sends us great visual postcards and interesting stories from within the galaxies of EVE Online. Today's One Shots is a stunning image captured during a recent skirmish. Before we turn today's post over, remember if you'd like to get in on the fun, email your image to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com. be sure to include your name, the name of the game, and a quick description. For now, we'll leave the explanation of this image to Redwense. Be sure to check out the rest of the story behind the break! Red Federation and Blue Republic were on a "Purple" skirmish through low security space, hoping to catch some action against fresh targets. Normally, the corporations would continue their daily "Red versus Blue" campaign--taking the form of a primitive "fight club"--within the region of Verge Vendor, but members often craved for new targets elsewhere. %Gallery-9798%

Sometimes, all you need is one great picture and a very few words to convey an interesting story. Such is the case with today's One Shots from EVE Online. We got an image titled only "The Death of Blackwind III" along with the following note from Redwense: "Wow." "I know. The shipyards quadrupled the number of enemy ships in minutes." "So, what were they aiming at?" "Me."Looks like that falls pretty firmly under "hope they had an updated clone!"If you've got a short story with a great screenshot, we'd love to hear from you! Just email it to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game, and a quick description. We'll post it out here and give you the love for sending it in.%Gallery-9798%

Every so often we get a truly excellent bit of writing from one of our One Shots contributors to go along with a great screenshot. Today we have one such story-treat for you from Redwense, pulled from a day in the life of EVE Online. Since it's a bit too large to fit on the front page, we're going to get all the normal column stuff out of the way early. If you'd like to stretch your creative writing wings with a very short story about your screenshot, mail it in to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, and the name of the game. We'll post it out here and let everyone enjoy! Be sure to read behind the break for the rest of Redwense's story."Look at it, Ryl. Isn't it beautiful?
