Activision put together a little video tour of the fourth and final DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, dubbed "Apocalypse." It's well worth watching if only to see a zombie inside of a mechanized battle suit, but we suppose it's also relevant context on the history of these additional multiplayer maps and background on the new Zombie variant, Origins. Apocalypse will be available first on Xbox 360 come August 27. After a bout of timed exclusivity, the DLC will then become available on PS3 and PC.

Every story has a beginning and an end – and giant, violent robots, according to Activision. A teaser for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Origins popped up on the Treyarch YouTube channel today, offering no more information beyond its title and the video. The video shows a series of close-ups on four men with grizzled faces from varying worldwide regions and wearing hardcore adventuring gear, along with what appears to be an ancient temple and a series of bunkers. Then the four men look up and surprise, it's a huge mech. We reached out to Activision but it wouldn't provide any more information about what Origins is.

You can pick up the album on Amazon, iTunes and Google Play for $10; or you can purchase each track individually.Mob of the Dead takes place in Alcatraz during the Prohibition era, and focuses on four convicts – played by Ray Liotta, Joe Pantoliano, Michael Madsen and Chazz Palminteri – trying to escape a zombie onslaught spilling into the island prison. We're almost positive that the "Mob of the Dead" mode included in next week's Black Ops 2 Uprising DLC pack is from a parallel universe. We're open to hearing alternate theories, obviously, but at the moment that's the most plausible explanation for a 1930s mafia/zombie-themed Call of Duty anything.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is about to deal with an uprising. The next DLC pack for the shooter – dubbed 'Uprising' if you didn't catch it – lands on April 16 on the Xbox 360 and includes five maps and one new "zombie adventure."New maps for the content pack include Magma, Encore, Vertigo, and Studio – all teased in the video above. "Uprising is the most fan-centric DLC package we've ever created," David Vonderhaar, game design director at Treyarch claims in the video.Adding to that fan service is "a reimagining of the classic map Firing Range," and a new "zombie adventure" called 'Mob of the Dead.' In the new zombie story, players are trapped in a zombie-infested Alcatraz as four prohibition-era mobsters, played by Hollywood badasses: Ray Liotta, Chazz Palminteri, Joey Pantoliano and Michael Madsen. In a "new twist" on the zombie mode, "if a player becomes an unfortunate victim, 'Mob of the Dead's' new feature known as 'Purgatory' sends players into the afterlife." No further details, beyond new challenges and a "unique experience," were revealed about the zombie mode's 'Purgatory' feature.PlayStation 3 and PC players should expect the standard one-month wait time for their shot at the content, due to the timed-exclusivity agreement between Microsoft and Activision.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is arming its second DLC pack, titled 'Uprising,' for April 16, at least according to this supposed promo material. Posted on Twitter by a user claiming his friend found it at Best Buy, the card discloses an April 16 release date for the Uprising DLC, which according to it includes Vertigo, Encore, Studio, and Magma maps, along with something called 'Mob of the Dead.' The posting follows the recent discovery of info in the Call of Duty website's source code that indicated the same content. As Call of Duty Online reports, the info detailed the same inclusions in a DLC pack with the same title, along with an Xbox Live theme. If the April 16 date is accurate, it likely only pertains to Xbox Live Marketplace; the traditional time difference between the Xbox 360 and PS3 and PC releases for the game is around 30 days. We've reached out to Activision for comment.

As we've come to expect, Activision has announced that a new entry in the Call of Duty franchise will be released this year. The news comes via Activision's latest earnings call, during which CFO Dennis Durkin said, "The Call of Duty franchise continues to set the bar for innovation, and we expect the new Call of Duty game in development for 2013 to raise that bar even higher."Durkin didn't offer further details, such as available platforms or expected release dates. Presumably, it will land on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii U. It's also widely expected that both Sony and Microsoft will launch new consoles this year, so it's possible we might see the first next-gen iteration of Activision's gargantuan franchise. As for the release date, we're going to go out on a limb and guess November. The most recent entry in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (pictured), helped push Activision's profits last year, making 2012 the most successful year in the company's history.

Shooter fans who've wanted to show their skills (or endure peer judgment) in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 through a live broadcast have usually had to go the YouTube route. That's fine for many, but some gamers will want to serve their own kind above all -- so it's with some relief that Treyarch is adding built-in streaming to the more game-focused Twitch video service. The new option will send both live audio and video from Black Ops 2 as long as there's an active Twitch account, as well as share word of exploits through Facebook or Twitter. Anyone committed enough to have a Call of Duty Elite subscription can also get a peek at a player's stats. Neither Treyarch nor Twitch has said exactly how soon they'll flick the livestreaming switch, although Wii U owners are once again left high and dry when Twitch support is limited to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 3 owners. Update: The company tells us that Twitch should be available as of noon Eastern.
