Here at WoW.com, we're on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere. Is there a story out there we ought to link or a blog we should be following? Just leave us a comment and you may see it here tomorrow! Take a look at the links below, and be sure to check out our WoW Resources Guide for more WoW-related sites. Gearscore is one of those addons that seems to get everyone talking, one way or another. Some people love it, some people hate it. Personally I'm of the opinion that the player behind the gear is more important than the level of the gear they are toting around, but there are plenty of other people out there that think it's a really good base indicator of a player's skill. Let's check out what the blogosphere has to say about it: Noobding has some input on gearscore and you. Pugnacious Priest talks about gearscore as a recognized universal measurement. TankingTips says gearscore isn't going away, and suggests that maybe it's better this way. Qieth's Quips has a few grumbles about gearscore. Variant Avatar make the bold statement that gearscore is like a child wielding a loaded gun.

Take a look at the links below, and be sure to check out our WoW Resources Guide for more WoW-related sites. My main's a rogue -- been a rogue since somewhere in the middle of Burning Crusade. But before that, in the days of Molten Core and Blackwing Lair when blood elves didn't exist, I was a priest. Not only was I a priest, I was the heal lead for our 40-man raid. The majority of my time healing was spent staring at and filling little green bars -- lots and lots and lots of little green bars. Healing's changed a ton since then, but I got my priest to 80. Partially because I missed playing her, but mostly because I wanted to see what had changed since the days of the little green bars. What's changed? Just about everything -- and today we've got a selection from the blogosphere about healing: Life in Group 5 talks about keeping a healing state of mind. The Bossy Pally has a few words on healing with a second holy pally in the raid. World of Matticus asks if healing classes are losing their individual identity. Moar HPS wants to know if there's such a thing as too much mana. Big Bear Butt talks about healing priorities.

Let's forget the drudgery of the work week and get distracted by shinies instead, shall we? Here's some posts from around the World of Warcraft blogosphere about the shiniest things in WoW -- gems! Moar HPS wants to speak frankly about healer metagems. Righteous Defense has a discussion about the worth of Nightmare Tears. The Big Bear Butt answers a common question among tanking druids: gem for stam or agility? Lastly, Revelart's Druid Reliquary has an amazing flowchart for selecting gems as a moonkin druid.

The DMV is a magical sort of place that when entered, immediately makes you wish you were somewhere else. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but the first thought in my mind upon stepping into the DMV is "Anywhere but here. Please. Anywhere but here." That said, let's take a look at some posts around the blogosphere regarding the delightful practice of pretending to be somewhere and someone you aren't -- roleplaying: The Physician's Log talks about developing a character with no backstory. RP Made Simple discusses the fine art of finding an "in" in roleplaying situations. The Lazy Sniper has an excellent guide to getting started with roleplay. Too Many Annas discusses the development of potentially powerful character concepts.

It's Thursday which the WoW.com calendar says is WoW Rookie day -- which seems as good a day as any to look at some content geared towards players who are still learning the ropes. The Hunter's Mark offers advice to those rare players who are hitting level 80 for the first time. Looking for More has advice on getting started as a tank as well as a whole Tanking 101 series. Tree Bark Jacket walks you through what to do if you're thinking of turning druid in Cataclysm. WoWWiki's wealth of resources can be found rounded up in a convenient newbie guide format.

No wait, we're not here to talk about The Guild, we're here to talk about guilds -- collections of players come under one banner to raid, PVP or simply hang out and level through World of Warcraft. While joining a guild and participating in it is one thing, running a guild is something completely different, and a lot more difficult than most players seem to think. Today we've got a sampling from various Warcraft blogs chiming in with their thoughts on guilds: Forever a Noob weighs in on the good and bad about running your own guild. Hots & Dots wants to know how your guild makes money. In response, Tree Bark Jacket lets us know how they run their guild bank. World of Matticus gives us 10 tips on how to organize a guild meet, and a guild survival guide on how to apologize. And if running a guild isn't your cup of tea and you'd rather just join one, 4Haelz has a guide on how to ace your app.

The agony! The never-ending boredom! So what's the cure? I propose a steady diet of interesting WoW blogs (back issues of The Daily Quest and the forums on Blog Azeroth are a great place to find them) -- today we'll specifically look at a selection from the lighter side of the blogosphere. They do say laughter is the best medicine, and when you're trying to treat boredom, that's probably right. (And before you have a chance to comment -- yes, some of these links are old. I know! But we haven't linked them before and I happen to think they're rather good.) 4 Haelz shows off some low-tech raiding gear. (Which reminds me more than a little of Fyreuni's Emergency Kindergarten. It must be the crayons.) Cannot be Tamed thinks up some great new Tree Form cooldowns. I Like Bubbles always entertains with Flowchart Friday. Recent flowcharts include How To Disc Gunship and Are You Going to Die on This Pull? Too Many Annas covers the differing species of healers and has previously covered the differing species of tanks. Still in need of a good laugh? You might try some lolcats or loldogs -- or share your favorite downtime lulz in the comments.

I finished the 50 games needed for the pet pictured above, did you? Oddly, while I normally stay away from arena PvP due to the fact that I am tremendously ... bad at it, I found the tournament games fun. Sure, I lost slightly more games than I won, but I had a good time doing it, and shouldn't that be the point? Still, I think I'll stick to battlegrounds and leave the arenas to the experts -- and today's Daily Quest has several bloggers chiming in about battlegrounds and PVP: Cynwise's Battlefield Manual shares some thoughts on healers and battleground roles. Roxton at Great Balls of Fire has an analysis of Arathi Basin and how to win it. Gnomeaggedon.net has several helpful tips for Strand of the Ancients. Spicytuna gives us a frost mage guide to spell penetration and resilience. The Wanted Priest asks the question, is it possible to end-game raid and play competitive PvP simultaneously?

Well, summertime raiding may not be easy, however it'll definitely get easier as the buff from Icecrown Citadel slowly inches its way up to the 30% mark -- but I'm a sucker for a Gershwin reference. While some will invariably be outside living it up in the sunshine, others like myself will be avoiding the evil daystar at all costs in an effort to remain blister-free from its threatening rays. Seriously, I turn a shade of red eerily reminiscent of the sparkling pony pictured above. What's left for us sun-sensitive people to do? Why raid, of course -- and there are plenty of blogs that have something to say about raiding: Bible of Dreams would like to politely remind everyone that when your raid leader says everyone, this means YOU. World of Warcraft Philosophized has some raiding advice for people who raid infrequently. Addicted to WoW posted an interesting piece on WoW raiding and motor learning. Blessing of Fish gives us a short guide to raiding standards. The Healz Squad has some advice on how to be a good raider. Tree of Life hands out some raid detention slips.

I'm pretty sure all of us are right now -- a bit bored, a dash disillusioned and hoping beyond hope that the expansion is the answer to all of our gaming woes. But without a release date to keep us company on these cold nights, all we can do is wait. Well, that and blog about it. I Sheep Things has a Cataclysm wish list that includes bats, bandages and banks. The Pink Pigtail Inn thinks it's time to shake things up and make our own Cataclysm. The Hunter's Mark takes a look at the history of dungeons and what we can expect to see in Cataclysm. Marks-365 tackles the Blog Azeroth shared topic on what needs to go in Cataclysm. Bible of Dreams chimes in on another Blog Azeroth shared topic with five ways to get ready for Cataclysm. Horde of One (which I've just discovered via Bible of Dreams) also offers some advice on prepping for Cataclysm (with, of course, plenty of others talking about it on Blog Azeroth).

Yesterday, Anne tackled tanking posts for her Choose My Adventure character, so today I thought I'd peek at some mage blogs for advice for Robinemia. I found some interesting tidbits and newsy things. Gazimoff at Mana Obscura discusses the different roles a mage can take in Mixing Mage Mechanics. Frost mages are defended by krizzlybear against some data we posted on WoW.com in Be the Exception, Not the Rule on Frost is the New Black. Isheepthings talks about being a bag salesman in Tailor, LFW. (If that link doesn't work, use this and scroll down.) I know this isn't mage related exactly, but Robinemia is a tailor/enchanter. /raspberry Euripedes is saying goodbye to Critical QQ. He will be blogging his fan fiction elsewhere however. Stay tuned to Critical QQ for more info.

Take a look at the links below, and be sure to check out our WoW Resources Guide for more WoW-related sites. It's Monday, which means I'll be plunking around on a troll warrior this evening thanks to the Choose My Adventure program. Shamefully, while I've done plenty of questing, I haven't really done much in the way of instances or tanking. This is due to some deep-seated fear that I'm going to be the horrible tank that gets the healer killed by a runaway add, the obnoxious tank that lives by the philosophy "Continuously pull threat off of me and I will let your cloth-wearing hiney tank that mob" or just simple fear of complete and utter incompetence in general. Thankfully there's plenty out there in the WoW blogosphere regarding tanking: The Wayward Initiative likes to stand in front of things that mean them harm. Righteous Defense serves up three impenetrable facts about armor as well as introducing the cooldown you can chug. Tankingtips reflects on 6 or 7 tanking mistakes you'll consistently make, as well as discussing the Dungeon Tool and how it is ruining your chances of Raid Tanking. This is doing little to ease my fears. Let's go to The Stoppable Force for a reassuring and cheery musical number instead.

They even took their viewpoints to each other's columns, with hilarious results. But this battle between mages and warlocks transcends our class experts and wages on in the blogosphere. Felfire is hosting the Official Murder a Mage Contest, which ends May 16. The Save a Soul TODAY contest on Gnomeageddon ends May 18. Destructive Reach explains why Saresa absolutely adores mages. Murloc Parliament weighs in on the mage vs. 'lock debate by interviewing caster classes. The Lazy Sniper says shadow priests don't care.

We are introducing them to dragons, taking them into battlegrounds and abandoning them on zeppelin platforms in droves. The blogging community has a few things to say about them too. Cynwise's Battlefield Manual has a comprehensive guide to the School of Hard Knocks. Cynwise also suggests A Modest Proposal, which I highly recommend. A Healadin's Tear has some tips for the much maligned battleground achievement as well in For the Children! Big Bear Butt chronicles his time with his orphans in Limping into Children's Week. Gauss ponders The Orphan's Future in Gauss' Adventures in World of Warcraft.

When the Cataclsym raiding changes were announced yesterday, the blogosphere erupted with reactions that were as varied as they were numerous. I was expecting QQ galore, but instead found quite a lot of analysis looking at all sides of the issue. Can Tank, Will Travel has recommendations for tanks as a result of the changes. Saresa at Destructive Reach takes credit for them. Borsked has questions. Wugan at Flow thinks choice is a good thing. The 'mental Shaman has more than 10 friends. Tales of a Priest gives an elitist point of view. Twisted Faith predicts the death of one of the raid types. I am a Paladin predicts great things for 25-man raids. Restokin sees doom and gloom. Gray Matter foresees the destabilization of guilds. Dechion does not believe the sky is falling. Larisa at the Pink Pigtail Inn wonders if anyone will bother with 25-man raids.

It was a PUG, not a premade, and yet people were competent, encouraging, communicative and polite. If only all battleground experiences were so pleasant. Perhaps these links from the community will help make this happen more often. No matter the battleground, Cynwise's Battlefield Manual recommends you Fight at the Flag. Gnomeageddon stresses that Midfield is not an Objective. Cynwise also breaks it down into Simple Battleground Strategies. Our Basil Berntsen at Outdps writes about Communication in Battlegrounds.

Our experience was mixed bag, with really great tanks and healers. There was also a greedy, fear-using, DPS priest guy who ended the night by telling us he loved us, but not in that way. This is why today's TDQ is all about the Dungeon Finder. The Mana Obscura talks about Escaping the Vortex of Suck. Forever a Noob chronicles Using the LFD to level. Troll Racials are Overpowered is sick of people whining about bad PUGs. The Hunter's Mark complains about How LFD Killed Navigational Awareness and includes a comprehensive, map-filled guide for getting to instances.

That time when we aren't shackled by workday worries and can kick back, relax, and half some fun. To further this purpose, some posts from the WoW blogosphere in the past week (or so) that have made me laugh -- and perhaps they'll make you laugh, too. It's no flowchart, but Destructive Reach has a pie chart documenting time spent in WoW. Blame Squelchy tells us what the Lich King has to say to those who wield Shadow's Edge. I Like Bubbles remains near and dear to my heart by continuing to post flowcharts (and things bearing a suspicious resemblance to flowcharts). Enjoy a basic raiding strats flowchart and the math behind assembling a raid. Pew Pew Lazers offers an arcane mage DPS flowchart. World of Matticus covers raid strategy using MS Paint. Bible of Dreams talks about auto-attack. And stir-fry. Miss Medicina breaks up with greater-heal.
